There are timings, in full view, on this very forum for MJR that give 1200h/s on cn heavy at 1244/2125 570 nitro+ 8g.

Not even close to those speeds on public timings, post proof or it didn't happen.

The best published for me are those of Doktor, i am doing 1080h/s @ 1240/2150 on them, and even that is after hours of testing different settings and miners ( Nitro+ 570 8GB ).

which miner and what is the setting? the best I can get only 1050 h/s.

Testing right now with two nice pieces of sillicon (Quality 81.6% and 77.5%) and so far my own timings seem to work - just needs a tad more to stability Smiley as i get from time to time a ADL_Overdrive5_PowerControl_Set() failed for Device #1 (thats a 580 8G) ... but well .. Results so far are ok ... got both past 1050h/s on CN Heavy.

Can you share your timings and settings for reaching that excellent result for 580 8G hynix memory?

Parts of it for sure - but the MJR Timings are not public - sry (there is far to much time and presents for my wife in them  Grin Huh Roll Eyes ). Zawawa does know what that means  Cheesy


01 - Find the sweetspot of your Sillicone (Corevoltage)
02 - Keep an eye on the temps - GDDR5 does not like heat (!). The sensors ya have on the cards are far away from the rams, take the core temp and add at least 10c on top of that (better 15c).
02 - Find an intensity that works best (takes time ...). For example between 105 and 115 the result varies +-100h/s when stable
03 - Look for s stable hashrate - no zigzags or sinus waves etc ... if that happens ... int is off  Cool
04 - Straps -> need a TON of time and varies slightly from card to card Sad
05 - Most important -> Have fun !

I have several RX 470's that I have tested on gatelessgate for Ethereum, here is my feedback :

  • Produces on an average 1-2mh per GPU less than Claymore (this is after sitting through the painfully long optimisation process)
  • Consumes about 30% higher power compared to Claymore
  • Messed up the powerplay tables so completely that even after uninstalling the miner and using several tools to reset fan settings or OC settings etc my GPU fans were constantly at 100%, I had to uninstall and reinstall drivers entirely

Nice UI, but I dont see the point of using something thats clearly inferior to Claymore with the same devfee.

Did you use the recommended driver? At least the third problem shouldn't have happened.
As for performance, I just started to working on W0lf's kernel again, so please come back in a few weeks.

I did, I used 18.2.1 so I guess this was a bug report. This happened after running the optimization twice.

You should be able to reset the fan speed by either the "Restore Stock Settings" button or the "Reset All" button, then. GGS digs deeper into AMD's library and touches upon API's other tools do not. As for power consumption, I forgot to mention that I will update the optimizer so that it would maximize profitability, taking the cost of electricity into account.

If I ever support Linux, it will be in the form of an Ubuntu-based Linux distribution for mining.
It should be pretty interesting with the same user-interface and better control over hardware.
Guys, you got to make a lot of money with GGS! I have a ton of ideas to materialize!!
Good idea about Linux distribution... But don't forget that many of us uses computer during mining and many use Windows. Don't put that thought to 1st place, please.

Oh, no worries. It's not going to happen anytime soon. It is just that the idea of
not having to worry about the driver is so appealing...

Good idea about Linux distribution... But don't forget that many of us uses computer during mining and many use Windows. Don't put that thought to 1st place, please.

I have two timings straps, 1 for cryptonight memory clock 1950MHz and 2nd for ethereum on 2200MHz memory clock.
Is there is a way to unite straps into 1, or flash these 2 straps in bios some way that allows to use this straps on they clocks on 1 bios?

I'm tired to reflash bios every time when changes profits from algo.

mmm, the " mod" isn't just a setup in which I tell the card to use xxx Core frequency and yyy volts etc AND to apply certain time straps ?
I can replicate those in GGS, using overclock and copying timestrap from a txt file and then changing algo. Well, I think that I did. And it didn't BSOD

Ideally, yes. The thing is there exists an extra layer between the hardware and the miner that is the driver,
and it makes things so unpredictable. I *could* get rid of it if I had enough time and resources,
but that remains a project in a distant future...

As for your situation, you just cannot "combine" straps. It just doesn't work that way, and that the whole point of on-the-fly memory timing mods. I am working on something very important right now, but I will get to Hynix as soon as I am done.
