Going dark for a while. Heading to Alaska then on to Iceland for Project Prime Smiley

So hosting is back, but can you explain something?

Week 1 Fury unhosted is $169.95

Week 1 Fury hosted is $219.95

That's $50 more for hosting.  But on your page you also say there is a 2.5% fee for hosting.  So you're charging an extra $50 as well as taking fees?  Did updates cross one another or something in regards to the site pricing and terms for hosting?  Doing the math @ $0.10/kWh means it'll cost less than $15 to host a Fury for the year power-wise, exact numbers being $14.60, whereas the 2.5% fee will collect $14.40 (using current LTC diff + pricing for everything).  So for hosting the price is really, over the course of one year, $219.95 + the 2.5% fee, so $234.35.

Is that right?  Since Josh is heading to the land of the elves can someone else at GAW comment on this?

+1

I asked the same question.
If you already pay a fee of 2.5% for hosting, there's no reason for price difference.

Until the new Zeus stuff hits the public and we can do a proper comparison it's tough to say what is "best".  There's also things like rejects, error rate, etc., that can make a small power difference negligible.

Yes I agree.  So far the only long term good watt per hash info is on gridseeds.

I also have not seen a lot to suggest that the new gear is a lot better.

So if I do 10mh with 290 watts with gridseeds clocked to 850freq.   With very little rejects  99% or better good.

And I do this.  with my 5 chip gridseeds

I need to do  10mh 200watts with the new gear and 99%  or better good hash rate.

So far there has been not a lot of info to show if this is the case.     Like you say time will tell.

If may turn out that gridseeds are still viable if the price is good.

for those that can get them for 60, it's still a very good option, and a present one !

I have been buying sets of 2 for 120.   I am  very happy to do so.

i want some of that but dont qualify for that pricing Sad

I'm almost hoping this. ^^^  Blades have been amazing in regards to uptime and performance.

Yeah, I'd love to see some super-cheap prices for Blades...

I just did some math on power consumption and I really hope there is an error somewhere:

Gridseed small: 20W per MH/s
Gridseed blade: 17W per MH/s
Fury: 30W per MH/s
Black Widow: 25W per MH/s
Falcon: 24W per MH/s
War Machine: 24W per MH/s
Big Gun: 28W per MH/s

Even assuming 10% overestimate on power consumption and 20% underestimate on performance, these numbers are worse than Gridseed, let alone Innosilicon.

However Zeus gives different numbers for their miners (roughly 13W per MH/s), so hopefully theirs are correct.

Any chance of GAW responding to these, and the other issues, that are being repeatedly raised and then drowned out by fan-boys gushing all over this thread?

Seriously, this is a big deal, 28nm ASIC miners are here now, properly power-efficient ones, not the half-assed Gridseed miner that was just barely better than a GPU, so why the awful power usage on these GAW miners?

What are you talking about  a half -assed gridseed miner that was just barely better then a gpu.

10.2 mh at 292 watts 30 five chip units  of gridseeds.

1 r290x = 300 watts for .88mh    also running was my pc on the same psu. for the 30 gridseeds or the 1 r290x

so a gridseed is 12x the  hash for the same  power

no blades do 85-95 watts. there are more like 110 watts

a five chip does about 8 watts. 15 of them do about 120 watts

The new gear all of it is about 5% improvement on a gridseed five chip unit.

I still buy the five chip gridseeds since they are not that bad if the price is correct.

Repeat   no new gear   is a clear power winner over a gridseed.  No new gear clearly shows 2x the efficiency  of a five chip gridseed.

so if 30 gridseeds can do 290 watts  at 10.2 mh

no newer gear shows real test results   =    none that 10.2mh  would be 200 watts   from any company.

If there is gear doing this with real world tests results show a link.

Look I'm new to this forum but not to mining.  I started mining CPU, moved to a large GPU farm, and now am slowly moving toward hosted ASIC.  I have also tried a few other companies and as such have either lost money or have money tied up in an ever changing release schedule.  I stumbled upon GAW and was probably more sceptical that most of you, and had very little trust.  All I was looking for was a ASIC that they would actually deliver.  So, I made the jump and choose GAW.  Am I glad I did!!!

I have personally spoken to 2 people at the company, once on a Saturday!  The phone rang a few times, went through a switchboard and I had my issue resolved in minutes.  Thier prices are acceptable, their shipping dates are fast, and if you have an issue, their support is spot on.  Look, there are companies out there waiting to take your pre-order money and others just waiting to steal your money outright.  GAW is not one of them....

GAW is as legitimate as they come.  You will not be disappointed in the product or in the support you receive - if you ever need it.  I will be purchasing another one of their new hosted ASIC's soon.

Keep up the good work everyone at GAW!

I couldn't hold out. Smiley I was going to stay with the 5.2 but since hosting was added back and $499 for roughly 8mH/s increase seemed like a good deal. I messed up on the payment and Luke, Thomas, and Jonathon all responded to help. Thomas sent almost an instant reply to my email.

Josh, you ever let these guys off to drink a beer, or do you have a dispenser in the data center? Hope this doesn't cause a negative "fanboy" comment, but keep up the good work, and I look forward to prime news.

Hey everyone, I will hit a few questions.

PayPal has all they need to issue the refunds. I am not sure why they have not. It's weird how quick they are to hold our money, but how much they take their time to give it back.

I have set aside hardware equal to what everyone ordered. So no know one will get left out when they order.

I can officially confirm we have three new data centers coming online Smiley one is actually built by a power plant.

I was sitting with two friends the other day and one was talking about how knc built their own data center. Them the other looked at me and said, haven't you had to build four for your customers Josh? We all lakughed.

Lastly, good questions on the power, I will get back to you guys Smiley
