All is well. Still dumbstruck by how this works with byteball distribution....at 100 btc it is significant...

Now, do I hold as we go along or sell...? decisions, decisions?

If you already hold 100 BTC, why sell Byteball instead of holding and seeing where it winds up over 3-5 years? I see it as a free hedge against scalability issues with Bitcoin and Bitcoin-derivative coins.

Well thanks to folks on here I got the distribution this round

You can make a private signed msg off proof of ownership with the bot of my BTC address from a paper wallet on a NON ever to connected to the Inet machine
once the computer synch'd enough to find my addresses OFFLINE ie 2015

after msg made (and checking for malware etc on usb stick) port the newly made private key message proof to a LIVE on inet machine and all works slick Smiley

(just windows and blockchain-qt download fresh install ..it took like 6 days and still not quite done...but synch'd enough to find my paper wallet addresses)

Now just completely format that hard drive ...as this incarnation will never touch the internet again

paper wallets are still 'virgin' (even thou they fooled around some Smiley

All is well. Still dumbstruck by how this works with byteball distribution....at 100 btc it is significant...

Now, do I hold as we go along or sell...? decisions, decisions?

Anyway it worked, to those who helped you can tell others this is possible with offline paper wallets as we expected..........and they still retain
their 'virgin'ness' qualities in that the 'hanky-panky' they did was OFFLINE the inet and never to return...(format that sucker ...die) Smiley

thus no 'taint' on my nice virgin paper wallets

on the other hand it may take the whole month to synch byteball  the wallet ...it is not exactly speedy

by the by when was the first air drop of byteball Dec 2016?

Curious ...well at least I got on the boat for part of the ride..with a whole 6 hrs to spare (I work nites but well worth the 3hrs of sleep before work to swing this)

thanks a lot to all that helped

We are approaching the $1000 mark. Do you think it will be cracked before the next distribution? I personally think that we will exceed the mark just slightly and after the distribution we will have a correction of 20-30% again as after almost every distribution.
Why do I expect such a strong correction? More and more users are taking part in the distribution, which are only want the fast money and sell off immediately.
I think byteball has been doing amazingly well anyway, so perhaps it won't reach $1k that fast. Not in the near future. I know gbyte allows to perform smart contracts but is that enough for such a price? The marketcap is low, though. I think this coin will need some project operated on it or some other projects for a price to reach $1k. For now on we'll see something like a stabilization around $900.

Usually after the snapshot, how long does it take for the GB and GBB to get added to the wallet?

+1 when I will be able to see coins?

Oh wow, so the next drop will be tomorrow. Do you think there is a big dump on the coins again like last time?
Is it a good time to buy some more then?

I usually use worldtimebuddy.com to convert different time zones. I have made good experience with this site. If I convert UTC to your time zone CDT or CST I get 9th July 8:10 am. But without engagement.
I would recommend a better option to you. Just follow the Byteball thread. Usually, there is a post when the snapshot was conducted. So you could be sure that you can transfer your Byteballs if desired.
Hope this helps!

Hey..the post below says the byteball distribution is

https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@moksamol/byteball-distribution-on-june-9

June 9th 2017 at 13:10 UTC

Does anyone want to post here what that would be in USA  for Central Daylight Time?

I'm like time conversion challenged and having issues, with the various conversions, not getting the same times.

First Conversion is Military Time of 13:10 in the above link (assuming that is correct) or 1 pm.

The second Conversion is below:

Does anyone want to post here what that would be in the USA for Central Daylight Time?

Just to double check my calculations the above UTC time is Sunday, June 9th at 1:10 pm? (or 13:10pm military time)

and it converts to (5 hours behind CDT) in my area that is CDT to Sunday 8:10 pm CDT? (USA, Minnesota)

Thanks, I think this is correct. Now it is just a race to get my soon to be 'new' air-gapped computer up with
Bitcoin-Qt so I can 'hopefully' do the private key msg option, using 'cut and paste' from the air-gapped computer
to Bitcoin-Qt on an internet machine. Once that is done of course the air gap'd machine is formatted etc before
ever touching the internet again (hey, I'm paranoid).

Anyway, if the above is correct let me know. Gonna be a race to see if my Bitcoin-Qt wallet is synched in time.
(been chugging along for 3 plus days already)

Whatever, free money, I can hardly complain even if I miss this round. At least I will finally learn how to do
the private msg key option and hopefully how to do such with this air-gapped computer method.

No, I would not buy directly before a distribution. Wait until Sunday or Monday if you want to get rewarded on the next distribution in August. If you take a look at the chart (for example on coinmarketcap.com) you see that the price always collapsed a bit over the days after a distribution. I think this will be the case again after Sunday distribution. So be patient and buy then.

Do you think it is a good idea to buy Byteball now?

- Bitcoin holders probably will get less bytes in further airdrops, so they will need to buy bytes if they want more money.
- With the USD value increasing, more and more people will want to buy gbyte and participate in next distributions, because is a lot of easy money.
- There are at least more 5 airdrops to come.

I think gbyte price will be between 0.5 and 1 btc in long term.

The number of airdrops might decrease, but I think that the number of bytes which will be distributed in each round pert BTC is going to be 0.062
Since the price drops after every distribution, you can't call buying GB for the air drop as easy money....

What do you guys think is the next $GBYTE?
I've heard of a coin called spectre (not the spectrecoin ico). But that was months ago, and since then no news regarding the development of it.

it's kind of a perfect feedback loop. the dumpers will probably be outnumbered by the buyers. there'll be a fall of course but i expect it to match previous ones more or less. interest in actually buying byteball will increase as time goes on.

what's it gonna do when it's all complete? that's the big question.

The blackbytes. What do they exactly do? Are they the fuel for the economy?

See a video here about making a black bytes payments. That may give you an idea of how it works. Perhaps black bytes take of some day for person-2-person payments that no one should know about.

Oh wow. I didn't know that. That is really interesting. I think Byteball is quite underestimated then!
