As you posted, not many were aware of this free distribution. There will be several rounds of distribution. If I am right, there were only distributed around 10% of the Byteballs in the first round on 25th December. 90% are still available. According a statement in the official thread, next round will be in February.

Hi could you explain a bit about the (first round of the) ico?

70.000 btc linked to 100.000 GB = 7 btc per 10 gb ~= 1 btc per 1.43 GB(=1430 mb?)

In the 2nd and following rounds you will only receive 62,5 MB per 1 btc or less?

Btw. Byteballs are for free right? It is just not well known so not many people linked their btc.
I get the idea why the price is that high.... Smiley

Do you know why there is so much difference between round 1 ico vs all other rounds?

If they want to distribute as much as possible it makes no sense to give out 20+ times more byteballs in the first round...

Tbh it sounds like a big insider ico.

The rules have changed three times if I remember correctly. The first were that all would be distributed at once, then it was in 4 rounds (10%+20%+30+38%), and now we have these latest rules which are more advantageous for second rounders than the ones before. You may find useful info in the distribution section from https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/obyte-totally-new-consensus-algorithm-private-untraceable-payments-1608859 and in this post https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/obyte-totally-new-consensus-algorithm-private-untraceable-payments-1608859.msg17226859#msg17226859 from tonych about the latest rules.

Yes.

Yes, plus in the second round at least, you get 0.1 GB for each 1 GB in your byteball linked addresses.

Btw. Byteballs are for free right? It is just not well known so not many people linked their btc.

Yes it is, just link BTC and/or BB addresses and you're good to go, I think one of the reasons why the distribution rules were changed is to enable byteball to get more exposure and attract more linkers.

Thanks. I think it's gonna collapse further. I will wait until all byteballs are distributed before considering buying any.

I'm thinking the same thing, waiting for the bottom. Since these were all free coins people will dump them asap and wait for the same.

Yup, wait for bottom and try to add after the price settles. Long term investors should thank bounty dumpers for giving them an opportunity to add at cheaper prices.
Its really expected that people will surely dump their coins after the bounty have been given and its already a normal thing for me and you are right those dumpers giving the opportunity for traders and whales to bought on cheaper prices if they saw a particular coin does have a potential to rise up in the long run.

Price recovered again from 0.008BTC few hours ago to 0.015 BTC now. Well I think we will see a lot of up and down movements in the next days. Many receivers of Byteballs just wanted the coins to dump them in order to make some profit. Last night, there were dumped several hundreds of GBs of Byteballs within a short time. That let the price collapse. Long term investors grasped many of these coins and stabilized the price. I think this procedure will be repeated some more times in the next time.

Price halved in half hour?

Whales dropped 1000 GB within half an hour. No chance for buyers to react in such a short amount of time.

Byteball now biggest 24h loser with -67.53% on coinmarketcap.com. Whales are drooping their coins.

The question regarding market cap depends on what happens after the whales have drooped their coins.
Advantageous should also be if Byteball gets listed on big exchanges as then more people will pick it up.

The problems are in his demand because the demand can keep his price in a stable way. If there are no the another demand will be coming and the price will get another drop. Some coin has got his stable condition caused by the demand are so high. So in my speculation, it goes down soon. in the another lower level.

Lower prices I see as long as there are huge dumps from people that want to get rid of their free byteballs and don't care too much about the price they dump.
As soon as these dumpers have all sold their byteballs the price can hopefully rise to new levels.
Today there were no new dumps so far and the price already doubled again...

Thanks. I think it's gonna collapse further. I will wait until all byteballs are distributed before considering buying any.

Distribution is rather slow. If registered bitcoins double in the next round existing byteballs will still keep 96.35% of their value.
Many mineable coins have a much higher inflation rate and are still rising in price.  Zcash now has stabilised with inflation rate of 600%!

The nice thing is: If price levels stay as they currently are not many more people will link their bitcoins which means nearly no inflation for existing coins.
However, if the price rises there will be more inflation as more people might link their bitcoins, but this will be more than compensated by the price rise.

I don't see Byteball on coinmarketcap.com - where do you see it?

Problem is that they do not know the market cap. Thus you will not find it in the top 100 list.
