Unfortunately, Hamburger SV won the game, with 0-1 but it was really a close game if we look at the game stats the Hamburger SV really ranked the advantage in this game, pretty much their next game will be on May 24, the Hertha really need to put up their game, and Stevan Jovetic didn't do much at all, because he is at risk of getting suspended, and the injuries have to take a lot of toll to the Hertha team,

Here is the result of my pick on the Bundesliga Relegation play-offs

Hertha BSC VS Hamburger SV GOAL 0 - 1 - WIN

Just like I thought the Hertha will have a pretty much difficult game with the 2nd Division Hamburg, and I think this is due to Hertha so many injuries, and their main players haven't done much because Stevan Jovetic doesn't do much because of his risk of suspension, and pretty much and Hamburger have done a very safe game and focus on defense and because of this game 3 of the players have each got yellow cards this is really frustrating for Hertha and on the next game they will be on the 2nd Division next season when they lose on the next game,

The second leg with high confidence and playing at home with full support from the fans will clearly give more strength to Hamburg now besides the motivation to return to the Bundesliga 1 and a narrow victory in the previous leg will also provide something else motivation for them.
otherwise this is not very profitable for Hertha now considering they are half a foot away from the Bundesliga 1 at this time and they inevitably have to perform better now if they really want to be in a higher league

Hamburger is a big name in german football this is the first time they ever got relegated. 3 years ago that was for the first time in history. Now with this win they have an amazing chance to make a comeback to the bundesliga and hopefully stay in it

Hamburg indeed has a good chance to win the relegation duel against Hertha. But they should be cautious, we had a similar situation last year, where Cologne lost the first game against Kiel 0-1 and cam back in the 2nd leg with a 5-1. Hertha didn't have a good day yesterday, but I think the 2nd leg will be a completely different game. I am rooting for Hamburg though, it is the bigger name Wink

Bookies thought like Hertha Berlin were the favourite against Hamburg in the game today. But I was thinking the opposite actually. I was seeing Hamburg as one step ahead because they have been a much more trustworthy team than their opponent recently. And this solid form helped them even win this game by 1-0. Especially in the second half, Hamburg started to find more goal opportunities and they deserved to win this. They have a huge advantage now and I don't think that they will lose this to Hertha Berlin.

they will have it very hard to survive next season , even they will get new players from somewhere.

Majority actually not wrong favorite Hertha Berlin than Hamburger SV because level played both team are different, Hertha on Bundesliga 1 and Hamburger SV on second competition level have under perform than Hertha Berlin. But have except opinion with Hamburger SV good chance promoting to Bundesliga next season if success defeat Hertha Berlin, really great chance and one step almost closer for Hamburger SV can back to Bundesliga again.

Damn , i dont have seen or watched the game Between Hertha Berlin and Hamburg and just looked at the statistics .
And i must say i am disappointed from Berlin so far as i seen the statistics , with this result Hamburg has the best chances to get back into the first league.
Glad that i dont have placed a bet on this game as would be set one for Berlin to win .

Congratulations to Hamburg on winning tonight's game and giving their fans a green signal concerning their possible return to the Bundesliga, Hamburg deserves this win and promotion because they have been in a good form in the 2nd division and they proved to be fully ready by their prolific performance tonight. From their performance tonight I believe they will do better on Monday when they play at home.

Doesn't matter if they are successful or not, they will play an elimination game and that is what matters. 8 teams from any nation is a big achievement. This is why I believe that they are a bit overrated and they shouldn't send that many teams.

I mean even 7 teams from the regular league situation is a big mistake, they should send like 5 or 6 at best, and 7 is not great and with the 8th they just became way too big. Bundesliga doesn't have that many great teams, they have a very tiny amount of teams that are good, like maybe bayern and dortmund and leipzig, but then suddenly Frankfurt wins and that becomes a bit of a shock and everyone starts defending 8 teams.

Its the end of the game hamburger team managed to secure an important away victory against hertha berlin i think they were more motivated they had a great second half they were the better part but its not over they have to be careful not to repeat what happened in the last three seasons when they were so close to getting promoted.

I have said that I expect Hamburger to win this match and that is what happening so far in this match. Hamburger is ahead by 1 goal. 67 minutes have been played in the first leg of this relation Playoff final. I have to say Hamburger seem to be playing better in almost every aspect compared to Hertha.

So, we're on the brink of getting back all the favourites with Hamburg leading in the playoff with 15 minutes of regular time to go. One of my favourite picks in 2nd Bundesliga, not sure I'd back them a lot back in the top tier. I know the second leg's still to play but Berlin has been horrible on the road, just 3 wins.

There is no play-off round and it is also marked with the same color for the top four teams in the Bundesliga, so the Bundesliga has five teams that will compete in the Champions League in the group stages. You can tell the difference from Ligue 1, they have three places for the Champions League but the team in third will go through the qualification round. I think clearly, the Bundesliga will have five representative teams in the Champions League for next season and of course that is a great achievement. But unfortunately, I personally don't believe the performance of these Bundesliga teams will be good and maybe only one or two teams that might make it to the quarter-finals later.

I think there will be 4 teams playing in the Champions League from Bundesliga and the next two teams are going to play in the Europa league from Bundesliga ( if I am not wrong).

I understand that Hamburger might think their opponents did not play well at all in the Bundesliga this season and Hamburger might have the upper hand but there is no reason why they should underestimate their opponent.

Hertha has 9 wins in the Bundesliga and Hamburger has 16 wins in the second Bundesliga. but we have to agree that there is a certain amount of skill disparity among both leagues. I think this is going to be a close match and even though Hamburger will be playing in away condition I think they will be the winners.
