Leipzig are now third in the standings and just six points behind Bayern Munich. Therefore, this match is very important for Leipzig and they will take every opportunity to win this match. I am not sure that Bayern will be able to win today at all. Especially since it is the first game of the year.

The winter break this year was definitely way to long. Of course the reason for the long break was the world cup in Qatar but still. I am not that interested into national team football so even though i watched most of the world cup games, for me a normal Bundesliga matchday is still more exciting than the world cup.
Obviously Bayern Munich is the big favorite again in the match this evening because they simply are the big favorite in every Bundesliga match, but i think that the chances for Leipzig to win 1 or even 3 points today are a little higher than usual. First of all it is always hard to tell in what shape the teams are after such a long break and Bayern Munich is also missing two important defenders with Hernandez and Mazraoui.

@rahmad2nd while Bayern is definitely the favourites to win, but there’s an interesting change i.e. the new signing Sommer will instantly be making his debut and I believe that Leipzig player’s could feel tempted to try their luck since he may be jittery playing in such an important match on his debut. Also Bayern do have other injuries which could boost Leipzig confidence, but in my personal opinion Bayern should yet win it and I sincerely doubt that we’ll see a boring draw being played as both team’s would be keen to seal those 3 valuable point’s.

It is clear that if we refer to the odds given by the dealer for the two teams that will compete, Bayern is the favorite to beat RB Leipzig in this match. although, this game is an away game for Bayern Munich. after all, from the H2H history of the meeting of these two teams. Bayern, always dominate the victory over Leipzig. even so, this fight will be more interesting. The reason is, this match is the opening match of the Bundesliga in the second half of this season.

For the hosts, this match is a tough match because after all Bayern will be very difficult for them to overthrow. plus, some of their core players are also confirmed to be absent from this match. IMO, the best scenario that Marco Rose can do is play with a defensive strategy. although this is a home game, it is clear that Leipzig is not in a favorable situation with several injured players.

For the away team, this match is also not easy for them even though on paper Bayern are superior. Bayern Munich is known for winning competition,  I doubt Leipzig will be something too difficult for Bayern Munich.  For sure Leipzig is doing well currently in this season but that won't make them to take the position of Bayern Munich. Leipzig is consistent in performance,  if Bayern Munich are to be having problems with their performance it would have been a chance for Leipzig to make an opportunity from the weakness of Bayern Munich but Munich are still very good in performance.

Bayern is on fire after never losing on 13 matches but they must not be careless about Leipzig's performance, because Leipzig creates a winning also in the last 7 matches including in the champions league, Leipzig also able to shame Madrid one of big club which is one level with Munchen. But, Munchen is have advantage situation because Nagelsmann ever handled Leipzig which means, he know how they play and know how to close the counterattack and gap if have Leipzig use a free kick scheme.

I personally still don't know whether the absence of key players who cannot be played will affect the team's performance at this moment, because the fact is that Leipzig also got injured players.

There are a few German teams that will suffer from injured players and also from players that was changing the teams.
Gladbach will be maybe will be feeling that with there Goalkeeper , Leipzig for sure without Christopher Nkunku will be not the same.
If Freiburg keep that playing that have done they will be for sure in one of the 4rd places in table.
Dont know how Union Berlin will be doing but the last games was not so good from them.

Bayern looks favorite in the match. Leipzig has a very worst history against bayern. I will not even try to pick up leipzig. It seems like that bayern is far better compared with leipzig. I just see the head to head between both and bayern was dominating the head to head. It doesn't matter a lot where bayern will be playing the match against leipzig. Playing at him is not changing the result against bayern. The main concern must be how leipzig will be preventing bayern munchen. I remember once bayern was beating leipzig 3-5 in the DFL supercup. The same result gonna repeating again.

Actually, Bayern Munich is the only indicator for me, and in my opinion, if you win against them or get a game with them as a draw, then that team surely has what it takes to win against Bayern Munich, but if they only win or make a draw output 1 time against Bayern Munich they I think that could just be luck, for sure this will apply for all teams, Bayern Munich surely is an great indicator in seeing the increase of strength of a team,


Union Berlin against Augsburg we all know Augsburg pretty much is not that big of a team and they are now lower on the standings, but in getting Monchengladbach well maybe you are right in saying that Union Berlin has an increase in performance but for me, they still can not get past Freiburg, but for Leipzig that will be getting no Christopher Nkunku on the team then I think Union Berlin will get a better performance against Leipzig now, but for now waiting of the season to start again,

I am really not sure about this , with Manuel Neuer and if he comes back , there was some rumors that he maybe thinking of ending his Career.
It would be nothing new as he is already also in some kind of age to think about it , on the other hand we know Neuer and its also possible he plays til he is 40.
But i think Sommer was the right thing to get him to Bayern Munich and this will be boost his Career also.

I think Yann Sommer is one of the most logical transfers Bayern Munich would have made. It is good for them to make their decision and finish the deal before the Bundesliga matches return. They have a match against Leipzig away tomorrow as you know. This is one of the important matches on the road going to the championship. Solving their goalkeeper issue must also help them. We will see if Sommer will make a big impact on this match of course. I don't know if he is going to be available for this match though but I expect so.

Leipzig have a tough job to do against them. In their head-to-head matches I can't say that Leipzig have any superiority. It is totally the other way around truthfully. It is all up to which side will return stronger from this break.

I agree that he should leave after this season for sure. Being a bench player to Neuer makes sense, he could have left even with that in mind, but the fact that he got injured and they still didn't use Ulreich shows that he is not there to be a goalkeeper but a seat warmer, nothing else. If you do not trust him right now, when all these things happened, then when are you going to trust him? Never. That's why he should be leaving and finding himself a club that would want him to actually be on goal and help them.

I know not many high level clubs will want him, but even playing for a worse team but playing would be a lot better than just be bench player until your career is over.

so with the betting providers bayern is the big favourite tomorrow. only very few people trust leipzig to win.
