To be fair they did lose a game to Atalanta quite recently, so it is not their most recent loss, it's just Bundesliga one, which is of course still insane. They went a whole season without a single loss, that is amazing whenever it happens, in any league that happens.

Even Bayern when they dominated didn't do it if I remember right, PSG doesn't, City doesn't, to be fair nobody goes 50+ unbeaten games in a row, that just doesn't happen and they did it. In this season I didn't expected them to do the same, it would have been quite difficult and because of that I did expected them to have this issue, and that still doesn't mean that they are going to end up losing anything, they can still win the title even wit ha few losses here and there.

The fact that some people are expecting Leverkusen to play at the same level as they did last season is very embarrassing. Every team they faced last season already knew how to face Xabi Alonso's method, so they will do everything in their power to defeat them this season. This season will be very different from the previous season because every team has brought in better squads to compete for the championship. I won't be surprised if any unknown team wins the league as Leverkusen did the previous season.

However, Leverkusen's home defeat against Leipzig was very strange. Leverkusen led the first half with two goals, and to be honest, I did not expect Leipzig to make such a comeback against them, but that is football, and anything can happen. This is Xabi Alonso's first Bundesliga defeat, but I do not think they will win the league this season.

Come on, a team spent a season without losing a game except one, and you think they can do it all over again, no right? Be realistic man. Bayer Leverkusen had a great season, fair play to them, but let's just not overexpect.

I think Xabi Alonso always had a lot to offer, he built up to last season pretty well, and the last season will always be remembered for a long long time. Only if they had won the UEL final, that would have been an unreal story, only one of a kind.

This season will not be the same definitely, but they still have a long way to go, a lot of games to be played still. If they manage their players properly, give all tournaments an organized approach, they can win trophies this season too, definitely.

Even if Bayer Leverkusen doesn't win the championship this year, I don't think their fans will be angry with them. Because they played so well last year and finished the season that the fans are in love with the team right now. I think they will finish the season as second even if they don't win the championship. However, the season has just started and they still have a chance to win the championship. Yes, they lost a game, but that's not the end of anything.
I mean of course, we are talking about something much more deeper right now, they already won once, and that's  the biggest thing they can even imagine. It's like Leicester story all over again, they even dropped to championship after the premier league title but the fans are still super happy with every player and even manager of that time, even the rest in peace owner of that time as well.

When you take a fairy tale type of story in football like that, it doesn't end that soon, they can finish 8th this season and it will still be fine for them, they are still quite happy because they are doing fine without much worry, they are happy with what they have. It's clear that they are going to end up with happy result no matter how they finish this season. The reality is that we are going to see Leverkusen still finish strong though, they can be the winners, or they can be in top three, that's the lowest I can see them doing at this point without a doubt.

Bayern Munich beat Freiburg 2-0 at home and got their 2nd win in the league. It wasn't too hard for Bayern Munich to win with goals from Harry Kane and Müller.
Heidenheim is another team that started the league well. They defeated Augsburg at home with 4 goals and are now the leaders.Looking at Heidenheim's game in general, they are very good offensively.Although they don't have much possession of the ball, they are definitely effective in the goal.

Also, the loss to Leipzig has ruined Xavi Alonso's unbeaten record with his team. I was expecting him to reach Pep or Heynckes level, but it was wrong. That's sad Xabi's unbeaten record must end this fast.

That's some huge work by Guardiola and Heynckes of course. But doing it with Bayern Munich is easier on paper. I don't mean everyone can do the same though, you know what I mean.

Leverkusen also has really good players but on paper they are still a less valuable team. But it all depends on having a strong team play.  Smiley  I wish Xabi Alonso broke that record as well. It would be unforgettable...
~

That series is 90% Heikens' merit. He built a team that dominated Europe and not just the Bundesliga. Guardiola just took a top team and was knocked out of the Champions League three times in a row by Spanish clubs, that's his whole story in Bayern  Grin
As for comparisons, yes, they are incorrect in the sense that Xabi had much fewer resources for such an achievement and he was able to do it with an underdog.

Good things often come to an end and I bet you that Leverkusen didn't expect to be beaten by RB Leipzig, the team that Leverkusen utterly frustrated last season. I guess this is pay back and now Xabi will have to work doubly hard to ensure they get back to tip top shape and get back to winning ways because he would not want a situation where fans will begin to fidget and start doubting him.
It's still quite early for them and they can bounce back but the question they need to ask themselves is will other clubs sit by and fold their hands while they do so because it's looking like Bayern Munich are coming back to reclaim what they lost.

They shouldn’t just watch out on Bayern Munich who will want to reclaim back what they lost but they should also put an eye on all other clubs who are also going to fight for the league title after Bayern Leverkusen have made it look that anyone can actually fight for the title if they’re ready for it. The fact about the Bundesliga now is that every club wants to be the best and those that are even performing better will love to do more, maybe they can get the chance to win the league title this season. After Bayern Leverkusen loss to RB Leipzig, it now signifies that no more unbeaten run for them this season and they should just fight for their best in the league title since it’s early and very much still possible for them to win it.

I am sure, Xabi Alonso is also ready with the bad results that might happen when extending his contract at that time but unfortunately, the defeat experienced occurred at home. But even so, at least Bayer Leverkusen still has good efforts and or performance because after all, in the two matches that have been played in fact Bayer Leverkusen always managed to score first by leading the match with a score of 2-0. But unfortunately, from the two matches that have been played it seems that Bayer Leverkusen is easy to turn around by the opposing team and thus, whether the problem is in the defense line or are Bayer Leverkusen satisfied with the score of 2-0.

Because after all, in the first match this season against Monchengladbach also in fact Monchengladbach managed to equalize the score to 2-2, but fortunately Bayer Leverkusen still managed to score a goal in injury time against Monchengladbach and was able to end the match with a score of 2-3. But in the home match against Leipzig, I think Bayer Leverkusen maybe satisfied quickly because after all, in reality the Leipzig coach also got a red card in that match.

Thus, Bayer Leverkusen might have felt like they would win after leading 2-0 because Leipzig was not accompanied by their head coach in that match, so Bayer Leverkusen let their guard down and Leipzig managed to get an epic comeback.

It will not be easy to go through a season without defeat and from several strong leagues, only one team can at least record an undefeated record and that happened once and of course it became a new record recorded throughout the league. Now I think talking about that is like talking about something a little impossible, even though in the end we see a team that managed to do it very well. But that doesn't mean it will be possible again, even though the team is very strong, because there will be many factors that can make them succeed in recording a record like that. I have no choice but to say that one of the factors is luck, although this has also been controversial for us.
Luck is a slight factor that affects a teams success in situations as this actually it's not key but if need be, the key factor is mainly the teams abilities and strength especially when expectations and pressures on them are minimal, but if the reverse is the case, then the team may not be able to maintain such records and Bayer Leverkusen is a typical example as seen, they literally had almost no pressure also season, so very likely this occurs once in awhile and not often and it's difficult for a team to maintain it for more than once in a row, I have not seen that really happen in a long time.

luck is another factor in a fight or match, the rest is how the team as a whole carries out its duties. plus, the coach's system and tactics are also a whole package of a team. talking about a team without experiencing defeat is an achievement that not necessarily most of the strong teams can achieve and break the record, I don't even know if Munich has ever achieved it. in the Premier League, I remember Arsenal at that time undefeated throughout the last season won the title under the guidance of Arsene Wanger. Leverkusen did it very epic last season, they were untouched by defeat in the Bundesliga. but what we should also consider, although Alonso is a smart tactician, even so, other team coaches will also study their systems and weaknesses. plus the consistency of each player cannot be guaranteed to always appear prime, especially in two seasons. besides, last season Leverkusen played without pressure and burden. this season, they are the defending champions who must maintain their performance. clearly, there is a difference between the previous season and this season. Speaking of the Leverkusen vs Leipzig match, Marco Rose is a coach who is very familiar with his team. Also, his tactics worked well when Leipzig was able to make a comeback.

Yes, no team do expect the result they usually get in their games, and same as Leverkusen, they never think of losing to RB Leipzig because they know how well they perform last season as they were able to defeat almost all the big teams in the Bundesliga and they never expect that their current team will not keep the same standard, but other teams went to buy some players that will give them more hope of competing strong against Leverkusen and they are now doing their best to defeat Leverkusen in their second League match of this season. If Alonso didn’t do well, with the Champions League and other cups, they can hardly win the title because Munich and Dortmund are looking serious and they want to take control.

Bayern Munich under Vincent Kompany is looking like a team that is back to take their mantle of leadership in the Bundesliga, I trust the team’s performance and I trust the Kompany’s process that they can achieve greatness.

Bayern won their match, and as for Leverkusen, sooner or later they would have lost anyway, I think it's impossible to go two seasons without losing, so every time such a bet on a win was closer and closer to losing. Leverkusen have already set a record for games without defeat, I think they are proud of themselves and can start working on such an achievement from the beginning, if they have the strength to do so of course

Yeah a decent work done by Bayern Munich. Kane scored his first goal in the season too. I hope he scores more goals this season but this isn't the best start for that.  Tongue  I really want him to break Lewandowski's 41-goal record in one season in this league...

By the way Heidenheim step forward these days. 2-0 and 4-0 wins in a row. Really impressive! I'm curious what they will do against bigger opponents.

Bayern Munich, Heidenheim and RB Leipzig are the three German Bundesliga clubs that managed to win all first two games of the season and if you ask me, I think it's a sign that Vincent Kompany's team are geared up to make up for the club's poor outing of last season. Defending champions of the league Bayer Leverkusen did lose over the weekend which was their first loss in 35 games and are now three points behind Bayern Munich so do you think they can still catch up with Bayern Munich? Or do you think Bayern Munich's impress start to the season won't last for a long time?
This is still the beginning of Leverkusen's journey, there are still many matches to be played to catch up on points from Munich, the chances are still very big, defeat in the match against Leipzig will not affect Leverkusen as a strong candidate for the champion this season. on the other hand Munich can be said to have a good journey in two matches, but to prove that Kompany is able to show his consistency we have to see a more interesting match to look forward to later when the two champion candidates meet on the field, seeing the schedule they will meet in the 5th week of the Bundesliga and I look forward to this exciting match.
But it is true that Bayer Munich had a very good start to the season with Kompany, because before the season started that Munich had a negative sentiment by coming to Kompany, because he had a bad history with Burnley, so naturally many people were amazed and said that Munich would make up for his sins.

Indeed, it is still early, Bayer Leverkusen still has many opportunities to improve its matches and become even better at collecting points, but I am quite looking at Bayer Leverkusen will not be like last season's unbeaten streak that made a long record.
So far Bayern Munich is still very perfect in achieving their victory like Leipzig and Heindeinheim at the moment, but this is still the beginning of the season so we cannot use it as a benchmark to ensure that the team will  achieve perfect results until the end of the season, the kompany has achieved positive results and gave Bayern Munich hope to make up for the bad results last season, but I think Bayern Munich current journey has not been tested because they have not faced a strong team in the league, as well as Leverkusen, who performed perfectly last season but start the season with badly after Leipzig destroyed them in yesterday match, but I think the journey in the Bundesliga this season will be quite tight and it will be difficult for us to predict considering the quality of several teams are now starting to be equal in the championship competition, Bayern Munich, Leipzig and Dortmund will of course be The team is strong in the competition for the trophy this season, but to say which team will be the champion in end season of course still difficult at this time.

I think it's too early to say that and from the two matches that have passed we can't conclude anything about the real strength of a team.
Likewise for Bayern Munich's performance at the beginning of this season, I think we don't need to be too excessive about what they get because Bayern Munich's strength is indeed better than the opponents they face, but the extent to which their new coach is able to maintain the consistency of this team is something worth waiting for.
I am also waiting for that this season, namely about the consistency of a team like Bayern Munich under a new coach because the results of the two matches cannot be taken as a full assessment for this season, especially if in the middle of the season there is a team that is able to rise and beat Bayern Munich. Of course the assessment will also be different so it is true as you said that for now we don't need to make any assessment of a team even though we also have to monitor the condition of the team's strength this season.
Under the leadership of the new Coach in the person of kompany, we can only keep our eyes on Munich and hope only for the best but we cannot start been exactly particular about the final outcome of the season at this point because they are just getting back into a good shape. Probably by mid season we can give a perfect assertion as to what we can then be expecting from them and it's looking like they are building some levels of confidence for consistency this season and if that be the case, then they are doing just fine because that will earn them something really Nice of the season and the fate of the teams will be built strongly around kompany helping him gain more trust from the fans and the management.

Leipzig is not a team that will give up so easily and even losing 2-0 they did not stop and were able to score three goals and snatch the victory.
Maybe Leverkusen was too sure that they would win this game with the 2 goals of leading at that stage.
Leipzig is never to be underestimated even when they are 1 or 2 goals back and they played very well the second halftime of the game.

Maybe for Bayer it will also be a relief when they no longer pay attention to another unbeaten streak, let it all remain in the past, and now they need to think about the new season.
I think they will beat Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg, and then they will have a match with Bayern, it will be an important confrontation.
Yeb sometimes a lose can activate some energy and ideas also specially when you havnt lost a game for so long as Leverkusen.
All the coming games are important in the race of the title again.

Heidenheim's performance was impressive but for me it was very reasonable because the club that was opposed was only a club that had a performance under Heidenheim.
Like St. Pauli and Augsburg are only clubs that are easy to defeat but I still give praise to Heidenheim for success without conceding in these 2 matches.
Augsburg is a middle team in the Bundesliga. Last season, they were in 11th position. Actually, that's not a bad position. Even from several H2H matches between the two, Augsburg was the one who dominated. So, when at the beginning of this season Heidenheim was able to slaughter Augsburg with a score of 4-0, it made Heidenheim very satisfied and proved that their performance at the beginning of this season was indeed much better than last season.

Source: Heidenheim vs Augsburg
Augsburg h2h

Do you think Heidenheim is able to appear consistent when fighting Dortmund?
It's still hard to predict. If Dortmund play less optimally than the last match when they only drew against Werder, then Heidenheim might have a chance. But for sure, this might be a pretty tight match. However, I still believe that Dortmund will be leading, I don't think that they will make any more mistakes this time.

I think is better they (Bayer Leverkusen) lose the game at least one game and for those who are waiting and hoping for them to lose to have a rest of mind. To say the truth they need to be ready for something different and let that winning streak end ones and for all so that they (Leverkusen) can focus on something important like the league games and also the champions league games. If they still have that winning streak going on they won't concentrate on the game at hand but maintaining that unbeaten streak in the Bundesliga and it will affect their style of play.
Kompany can only go ahead of Leverkusen only if Xabi allows that to happen, I don't want a situation where we have to see Leverkusen struggling for steam because from the games both Bayern and Leverkusen have played I can only see Bayern Munich still struggling to meet up and I won't want to see the champions having say issue.
Leipzig is not a team that will give up so easily and even losing 2-0 they did not stop and were able to score three goals and snatch the victory. Bayer's dominance was very significant, but Leipzig chose a counter-attack strategy and it worked for them, although they managed to score goals from difficult positions that day, but Opend's skill brought results.
That Leipzig game was awesome. Two goals down was no problem for them. They flipped the script on Bayer. You gotta hand it to them, using counter-attacks against a possession-heavy team like Bayer? Thats smart football.

And of course, Bayern's sitting pretty now. Leverkusen dropping points gives them a nice cushion, and that mental edge is huge. But let's not count Leverkusen out just yet. Sometimes losing that "unbeaten" pressure can light a fire under a team. Their next few games will tell us a lot. If they can bounce back strong, that Bayern matchup could be a real showdown.

This is why we love the beautiful game. Its unpredictable, its exciting, and it keeps us on the edge of our seats. Leipzig just proved that anything can happen, and thats what makes it so great.

And regarding Leverkusen's defeat, I don't think it's that surprising because RB Leipzig is a strong Bundesliga team and even this season RB Leipzig has been able to perform much better than last season.
And also if we look at a little bit of what happened at the beginning of this season, it seems that this season's Bundesliga is much fiercer in the competition for the title compared to last season, I think that will be a good thing for the Bundesliga and all Bundesliga teams.
