i do not see this as something that is viable for any team to do, you know you will easily recognize whose fans are they, Bayern or 1860 or Augsburg in fact, (..)

Hmm, so when you see a person, who by ID resides in Munich and wears a Bayern jersey, you can tell that this person is in fact 1860 or Augsburg fan ? I couldn't and I doubt police officers could do.

There were matches in the past, where away fans weren't allowed. This was checked by postal code on the ID. If Bayern was to play in Bochum and no Bayern fans were allowed, then of course a Bayern fan living in Bochum could enter the stadium - but not in the away block and not with Bayern merch. A Bochum fan living in Munich and travelling to that game, could enter, but only as season ticket holder of Bochum.

A problem with the ghost games can be that if there is a crowd of fans in front of the stadium, maybe the game cannot take place then and it could be scored 2-0 for the opposing team.

I can see the following scenario and why such a rule is not feasible:

Bayern needs at least a draw in last round for the Championship. They have a home game. 500 supporters from their city rival 1860 dress up as Bayern fans and build such a crowd in front of Allianz Arena. There is no way to tell, if they are indeed Bayern fans or not, because their ID's will show them as Munich/Bavarian residents. Bayern will lose 0-2 and not get crowned champion.

This can of course happen in a lot of other cities/areas too.

i do not see this as something that is viable for any team to do, you know you will easily recognize whose fans are they, Bayern or 1860 or Augsburg in fact, since it is very close to Munchen, and why someone from, lets say Bochum could not be a fan of Bayern, they are institution in Germany, and have fans all over the country
and of course, that is easy to check, a lot of money is in the game for a few (even 500) fans to bring the championship down

Bayern will get another title this season

„Wenn wir wieder spielen, ist klar ein Argument, dass es nicht zu Zuschaueransammlungen am Stadion kommen darf“, stellte Seifert klar: „Wer das bewusst in Kauf nimmt, nimmt auch in Kauf, dass das Spiel nicht stattfindet. Und das wird im Spielbetrieb natürlich zum Problem. Dann müssen wir uns damit befassen, ob das wie ein abgebrochenes Spiel behandeln und 2:0 für den Gegner werten.“

We do not know what will happen but if there are opportunities to finish leagues with a few matches left, we should try it. I totally support the idea to finish leagues behind closed stadiums. Cups can be cancelled but leagues should be finished. We can not fear of such situation above and delay league resume too long. Resume them and let see what will happen after that. We might not lose many things if leagues will be postponed again after infected players found but might lose all these seasons with hesitation.

Dont know what they will be choose specialy for german league , and there are are so many other things connected to it : Champions League , EM2020 and and.....
Lets hope they find the right solution and all went in the end well .

clearly the German government is trying to Bundesliga football can be resumed this season so that there is the champions like before the season.
Everyone is still waiting for the results of a good decision because some European leagues are also still rumors and the match has not yet been decided to continue in the closed door.

The German government has his thoughts about open the League , the DFL wanted that its open again .
Its a bit little crazy that there is no news about that all after 7 days and i hope that we hear something in the next days.

@hd49728 while I’m missing football a lot, but I would have liked if they had waited till June to resume their season but since they have already made their decision I’m just hoping that it doesn’t backfires on them, and we get to see the complete season without any more hurdles.

But depending on how the situation is there whether more and more stable or not, if it is still like this then the match will probably not be continued in the middle of May or June, clearly the German government is trying to Bundesliga football can be resumed this season so that there is the champions like before the season.

Another interesting issue he mentioned: If any player (or staff) tests positive, that team has to go into 14 day quarantine and their last played opponent too. This will of course mess up the schedule and could lead to lots of postponed matches, which would then have to be played at a later point. The schedule is already tight, with 9 rounds to be played until end of June (because of sponsoring contracts). I could see some fraud happening because of that, but that is maybe just in my mad mind. Lets see how this plays out in the end.

Right! Now, I'm concerned that if play resumes and a player eventually tests positive, the organizers might go extra mile to conceal the information from the public knowing that a new positive case could well be the end of the league for this or until there is a more lasting solution.
Right now this is really serious and big issue because if this happen then we can lost some good time then may be next season start can also face some troubles but still we have to wait for 30 April what happen and what they decide.

@Indymoney the league is definitely resuming in May, but I don’t expect them to behave carelessly because everyone will be watching their every move, hence they’ll have to take strict precautions and report any player or staff that tests positive.

Its a difficult situation for all Teams in the german league and in all other leagues in other countries too !
Just in case one team will be have a player tested positive the team cant playing for 2 weeks , and if they got infected from the match i realy dont want to know whats happend then.
Thats would be the best story for the Media and the news and they will be bring some shitstorm to the league.
Everyone wants the league back, but whether thats the right way, i have my thoughts.

This is the current situation in the German Bundesliga:

Germany: Bundesliga & 2. Bundesliga

The return of the season with games behind closed doors is considered for May 9. On April 23, the DFL held discussions in a general meeting. A final decision has to be made by politicians, who will discuss the matter on April 30.

The conference of ministers for sports announced on April 27 that they consider it reasonable for the Bundesliga to return in mid-May or at the end of May. Strict sanitary and medical guidelines would apply.

Dortmund boss Watzke was at Markus Lanz yesterday. He told the total amount at stake is around 750 million for the rest of the season for all teams of Bundesliga. This is what the clubs would lose, if play isn't resumed. Now the german government could just give those 750 million to the teams and be done with it, but this definitely would lead to a shitstorm never seen before - and rightfully so. The clubs will still lose money even by finishing the season, but any money is welcomed, since they don't make any money at all right now.

Switzerland resumes League maybe !

In Switzerland, the course has been set for the resumption of football operations:
The Federal Council decided on Wednesday that ghost games could take place from 8 June.
However, it is not certain that the Super League will continue because of this.

The Swiss government decided on Wednesday that would allow the professional clubs to return to the game from this date without spectators.
However, the Federal Council does not want to make a final decision on the continuation of the Super League and the second League until May 27.

The sports website Transfermarkt just published an article about the situation in the different European leagues. Which ones will be canceled? Which ones might resume? The article will be constantly updated.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for some value bets. If i'm not mistaken, the league will resume with Matchweek 26, and there are some interesting games there to follow:

Dortmund vs Shalke 04
RB Leipzig vs Freiburg
Frankfurt vs Gladbach
Werder Bremen vs Leverkusen
Hoffenheim vs Hertha Berlin
Dusseldorf vs Paderborn
Ausburg vs Wolfsburg
Koln vs Mainz
Union Berlin vs Bayern

Hmm, seeing the Signal Iduna Park with no crowd and without the "Yellow Wall" during the Revierderby will be very weird ):

The problem is that you now cant say anything about how they will play or as there performance is after the long break with that pandemic.
For sure the bigger Teams have more training room as the others but i guess that we will see some crazy results when they start playing again.
Berlin vs Bayern is the most interesting after berlin was playing very well .

There will be surprises and some crazy results, just like in a "normal" beginning of a season, but this should result in some nice value odds to be found as well. <...>

Just because we want it to start doesn't mean the politician is wrong, starting the leagues back open again does send a wrong message. There are so many idiot people out in the world that Trump talked about injecting bleach to veins to maybe cure the patients, and after that over 300 people went to hospitals for drinking bleach, 4 of them died, so as you might imagine what you do as a nation changes way too much.

Of course bundesliga is not trump and bundesliga fans are not trump supporters, these will be smarter people and Germans so I am not expecting anything stupid from them, yet I still would say waiting maybe one more month wouldn't hurt anyone neither. I get it, teams wants to play and be done with this, but they are making it too quick, May is just too soon, June would have been a bit better.

My personal opinion is that when the German League starts again that it will be have for sure and positiv effect for mental health for a few people.
But if this is all going in the wrong direction it can be bring some big shitstorm to the DFL and the teams that wanted to start the League again.
Its a thin ice at the moment where they walking .

That’s what will happen, also a vaccine probably won’t exist for over a year. In my opinion the best way to get through this is herd immunity, sadly people will die & there’s nothing we can do. It is a very low death per infection rate though & the economy needs to get going ASAP which includes football.

So basically, your suggestion would be Lockdown should be lessened and the virus spread allowed, those with sufficient immunity would survive (with little medical care) and would hence be free from the virus. The salient factor of this virus is the rate of contractions, if public gatherings like football stadiums were opened up, it will greatly increase the number of cases and put extra pressure on the healthcare system and those who would have survived with minimal health care would be at risk of dying; increasing the mortality rate.

In the flip side, the economy has to be salvaged, so opening up key sectors is important. Football now would generate a lot of revenue, but it has to be done when it is absolutely safe to do so, players are humans too and if conditions are not perfect I reckon some of them would not risk their lives to entertain the viewers.

The coronavirus thread is going to exist for a year or Morey, till we find a vaccine for that.
Having said that, there will be always a thread for the public health and the players.
In my opinion, Bundesliga should start again and matches to be played with no spectators...

Human life before the game. You think the death rate is low, if this continues then a lot of people in the world will die. And what is the guarantee that the player will survive? If there are no players, then whose game will the spectators watch?
