Seem like Xabi Alonzo strategy was able to be read by the opponent. When I look the statistics, Leverkusen just won once in the last 5 matches Bundesliga. This is a crucial thing that must be aware of by teams who have defending champions. They won perfectly in the previous session, but their performance dropped drastically in this session. There is something happened to them. I agree, that fatigue is may be the main cause, but when we look at Bayern and Leipzig with almost the same similar matches, I don't think it's the fatigue factor only, but other factors that we can't touch.

Who would think that a big club like Bayer Leverkusen will play against Stuttgart and end game in a goalless draw? The players have been playing a lot of games and this is making them very tired. We just have to look at the fact that next week there will be European Champions League games and a few days later Bundesliga games and then there will be the international break for the players to go and play for their national teams. So the only today's game between Leverkusen and Stuttgart ended with a disappointing goalless draw.
As I mentioned before, before today, 4 out of the last 5 games between those two ended up with draws, so seeing them splitting points tonight was not a surprise. The lack of goals was.

Despite the result, it's fair to say Leverkusen was a much better team. They had plenty of great chances but couldn't find the way to the net. It looks like they exhausted all their luck in the previous season.
