I saw the list, and donated 50 btс. But I can not even collect 10 here. I hope there are real philanthropists. Thank you in advance ..

If you're going to claim to have donated 50 BTC, you should be on the list and/or able to prove it.

Do you honestly want people to believe you donated 50 BTC, but you're asking for free coins?  Ha.  Funny first posts by you.

At some kind of minimum, the scammers should be removed from the list.  It's bad advertising.

Seems like a slippery slope.

I hadn't paid much attention to this before but am interested in supporting, but I am curious, are we still at 10/50BTC given the intent of the original amounts and the current value relative to fiat?
Yes we still are.The rule of not calculating the value of bitcoins in terms of fiat is followed while taking the donator status otherwise it would be unfair for the previous donars.
Having said that, you can always donate whatever amount to the address mentioned in the donate tab.Forum doesn't depend on donations now.

I don't agree with it being unfair to previous donars.

Donating back then was about $100 for 10BTC.  Now, it's $17k.
Most of those who donated simply wanted to be on the list and it was cheap.   Asking $17k simply stops 99.9% of the public from getting a badge.  It also probably puts a near stop on regular donations as well.

At some kind of minimum, the scammers should be removed from the list.  It's bad advertising.

Yes it's still 10 and 50 BTC. The Bitcoin value is USD is not taken into consideration.

Having 10 or 50 btc in the past was much easier than nowadays... Mining was easier, btc to USD was cheaper
I don't think that these prices should be updated since it is unfair for the old one but I am with adding additional ones

Don't bother, the time for this has gone. Save yourself a lot of money & forget about it. There aren't any worthwhile benefits by donating.

You can change your username if you call that a benefit.

The amount still same and always same from time to time (maybe).
Donator =10 btc and VIP=50 btc
People who donated 10 btc when the price still $1 or below were really lucky

Theymos posted this request in August of 2011 when the price was still well above $1. In fact, even in November 2011, at it's lowest point, the price did not fall under $2 per coin.

Most people here made their donations in 2011 and 2012 when the price was around $2-$10 per coin and most likely averaged around $5/coin. That would have been about $50 for Donator tag and $250 for VIP tag. Remember that over time, a number of the VIPs and some Donators have become scammers or were rated as otherwise untrustworthy by other members. You should not see the Donator tag as anything other than what it is, an indication that the person helped the forum out financially. It doesn't make someone more trustworthy at all. In fact, there's evidence some people used the tag in their confidence games.

is the minimum amount for donator status still 10 or 50?

because that is kinda unrealistic considering btc is around 1k lol

The value during that time when they were donating 50 btc isn't as high as the current. $5k really is huge for something to donate.  I'm not sure what benefits donators have in the forum by the way besides that badge under their username to which you would look very rich Smiley 1 btc is valuable enough.

50 btc * 1'000 usd = 50'000 dollars not 5k dollars (k = thousand).
