Do they plan on changing the Donator Status requirements soon? The donator status looks nice and it helps contributes to the forum but $4,418 (as of right now), is way too much to pay for it considering how much 10BTC was worth a couple of years ago.
Considering this question is answered on average every 4th post in this thread, I suggest you do some back reading before posting.

can we sell the donator account after becoming donator? If I donate today to be a donator and price of bitcoin goes up,can I sell my account to any interested buyer?
You can, though it would be very unlikely for you to find someone who would be willing to buy it for more than it cost you. Matter of fact, I think it would be very unlikely for you to find someone willing to buy it all together.

I think this rule is related to the time that BTC price was not high.

i am not going to pay 22,125$ to get VIP status
Don't see it as $22,125 but rather as 50BTC, now and then.

i would like to donate
You can donate any amount you want to if you feel the urge to donate something to the forum.

they need to update the price
Already discussed each 2 sites of this thread, several reasons speaking against it,
the main ones are 1) it would be unfair to all current donator/vip users and 2) the forum doesn't depend on donations anymore.
I guess that is true. it would've been safer if they said x$ in btc ya know?. but i can understand not updating it because of current donators. i will donate some btc when i get paid however. i believe in paying for what i use Smiley

If the forum was looking to raise funds, I think it would be better to introduce a "Supporter" level that you can reach by donating 2 BTC.
I am much excited to know what would be the color of the half coin , if "Supporter" level is Introduced.

Maybe half coin 'orange'.... but I don't think theymos needs more funds Wink.

The main reason why the threshold has not been lowered is that the forum really is not in need of additional money right now.

Not true, like most things you post.

The "threshold" has not been lowered because that would be unfair to people who already donated.

It's not about if they're asking or not. It's more about the equal opportunity scale. Back then, you had to donate $10 to be a donator. Now you have to donate $4000.
10 BTC is 10 BTC, so that would be one of the benefits of being an early adopter.
I don't see how it would be fair to those who've already donated, especially the ones who held and stuck around since.
If we were on USDollartalk.org, I'd probably side with the YoBit spammer on this,
but since we're on Bitcointalk.org, 10BTC back then and 10BTC right now are the same.
If you talk about equality, how can you take the dollar equality over the bitcoin equality?
The main reason why the threshold has not been lowered is that the forum really is not in need of additional money right now. The original intent behind asking for donations was to be able to pay for ~a month of hosting with the ~$50 worth of BTC (~10 BTC) that donators would pay, however hosting is donated (I believe -- it used to be donated by PIA, but I am not sure what happened with that), and the forum now has hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of bitcoin.

If the forum was in greater need of money then I would not be surprised if the threshold to donate (with some kind of reward/tag/bage) was lowed substantially

People are always moaning about the amount of coins they would have to donate to become a 'Donator' or 'VIP'.
Yeah some members donated 10 & 50 bitcoin's back when the price was a lot lower.

Who cares though?

It's just the way it is, nobody is begging you to donate anything now.

Honestly think 10 bitcoin is about right, would not want every one to have it and it needs to have worth.

Maybe a bit less, but there should still be a significant minimum price to prevent scammers turning low accounts into 'top' accounts as validation for a quick turnaround scam.
