Yes, finding something which is more interesting to do or more productive or both is of course a good way to quit gambling. If a person makes in gambling $10 per hour in the best case scenario and if he would be offered a job where he can make $20 per hour would he refuse the job offer and continue gambling? I don't think so.

This is really a dangerous idea same as you said because even though you are focusing on free rolls and free money on dice it would really make you a gambling addict on the long run and that time you will hardly control yourself on playing it and you will definitely deposit money since you are already addicted to it and like to play even more because we all know that free money/faucets and freerolls are just only good for try outs and not designed for longer gaming.
