Hi guys and girls! After making quite a lot of money then losing it and crying about not hapfmthe afternoon I have decided to give up gambling for good.  Its not for me in have a much too addictive personality. So now I just plan to work for casinos but not gamble.

The thing is you know you should cash out but you always want just that little bit more and then u lose the whole lot. I'm stupid and greedy. Right after I lost i put more in and doubled it then I went all in and lost it. So yes u can make a killing gambling with such a small about like a few dollars but then u lose all u make and waste a lot of time and energy and end up getting upset. Also i shake like mad when I gamble and I hate that. I tremble. When I lose I can't believe what the screen is telling me.

So any thoughts ? Ways to stop ? Ways to gamble with play money ? Maybe there are dust ga!going casinoes I can use? U know just for fun and for the fix. Smiley

Yes because it consume money. You when it comes to money it is hard to take over from other program that ensure your profit but at the same time ensure your lost. Game of chance if it thats thing for sure.

It's all about the will, if you have the will there's always a way. Just think that your future would not be better if you will continue to gamble.

Giving up is the last option for every gambling who are addicted and they keep on losing and they do not love gambling anymore. Get out immediately as there's till life ahead.

Oh yeah for sure, but then again i don't really feel bad for people who lose all forms of self control since gambling is like any other addiction they cost money.
But yeah getting out before you hit the deep end is the best idea for sure.

There is really no such an "easy" when you already used to it and started to being addicted to it, but the real issue here is that if someone could this obviously you also can. It's about accepting defeat and move on.

Right, it is really not easy to give up, socially for addicted person. I know that i am not addicted person but instead of it i never accept my lose. And in this way, i was doing more bets to recover our lose, Than i realized it was more bad way, better is that accept our lose, and don't play again and again to recording lose, Just quit it on the time. Next day, play it with a new hope and forget the past.
Yeah true, chasing losses will just make a bigger hole of your bank roll and you also get more and more addictive.
One time losses leads to continue gambling and continuous loss.

Chasing losses means you are feeling bad for your losses in past and as a regret you are gambling more which is dangerous because you are not actually gambling because you think you can win but actually you are desperate to win.

It is one of the very difficult thing to give up any bad habit in general but gambling is even more hard to stop playing. I didn't see any single person near who succeeded to give up gambling fully. Only change I saw was number of visits which were lesser than before just because they couldn't afford anymore. Their mentality was same one day we will recover all.

Yeah, it's basically those who are already used to doing something and they are very happy to do it would be very difficult to stop. Because their minds have become accustomed to doing it and this could be considered something bad thing if they stop the habit and the thing to do is to find something more interesting than the habits and busy yourself to do new things to forget about the habit of wanting to be eliminated. This also applies to users who want to leave it gambling.

Tell me anyone who says dropping any habit is easy and I will tell you that person is a liar. Any habit one has form whether good or bad so far an individual is deriving pleasure in it, then I tell you its not easy to drop and in the case of gambling where you get to win sometimes and if youre lucky, you get to win most times, then I say, its not easy to drop but with determination and gradual withdrawal then I say its is possible.

Dropping any habit is not quite easy for anyone it's very long term procedure to do this, in case of gambling it's more hard because it has easy money for lucky people, I am totally agreed with you winning with gambling make us happy so that I can say that it's very difficult habit.

I agree , giving up any activity which becomes your daily habit is not so easy for all of us . Same as any sort of vices such cigarettes and alcohol , giving up gambling is a very long procedure and has a lot of side effect to any people .

giving up gambling is like a necessary evil that you have to do it. whether you like it or not.

it is obviously hard especially for those who are extremely addicted to gambling and are in debt up to their necks because of gambling and all the money they have lost in it.

but good news is that gambling addiction is a known problem and there are even support groups for that to help you give it up.

Yeah gambling addiction is so common right now that it would be easy to find professional help in case you need one. But it would be a lot better though if it starts with the people close to the person. I think it's rare that it would come to a point that professional help is required as having your family and friends around can be a very big help if you want to quit gambling. Of course there's the part of the person himself and how bad he really wants to quit.
I agree but the only possible way of quitting gambling is by emptying your wallets, let yourself frustrate for money and tell all your friends online not to lend you money. You will have some real frustration for sometime like one or two days then slowly you will settle with such conditions.

This was what exactly what I did before. Earlier I used to divide my funds for some investments but I always allocated for gambling purposes. After a string of losses it came to my idea about investing on some gambling sites too. Later on I found some credible sites on which I started to invest until now. I still played but only little. Another way to help at least control gambling is making yourself busy.

How about you? , Giving up on gambling is not easy as you said this just like you give up from smoking and drugs . This take long time for avoid gambling in the future , but there are lot of challenges you must do it to give up on gambling.

How about me? What certain question are you trying to ask, are asking me to quit? Well if that's the case i do occasionally so quitting gambling is not a part of my plan. I never said that there would be less challenges, now matter how hard the challenges are if you are really willing to give up then you surely can.

In that situation, you just actually creating a much bigger problem. You may not feel it now but  sooner or later you will realize. I am not trying to convince you to stop gambling addiction for yourself but if you do think of other's future like if you do have a family already then go to experts and treat yourself.

Indeed.. perhaps divert your interest into something that gambling is not involved.. try to stay away from things or places that will lead you to think about gambling. Have some fun activities with your family / friends that may help you to forget about it. It's really hard to quit but if you're really willing to give it up then it's up to you.
yes that is something very easy to say but very difficult to apply, i have my own experience in this situation, i tried my best for so many times to stop gambling but useless, although for quit gambling but not for a long time. i start is up again after some time, and still playing gambling.

you just have said that you were able to do it but then came back later on. Why not try do it again? It is not a lightning process in the first place from that certain point that you were able to do it then it is really possible. You do it slowly when it feels like you crave then you play but minimize your amounts.

well it's not really easy to give up your habits just like cigarettes for me. gambling is my life when i was on senior high school and still it's my life. maybe i can give up gambling if there will be a two option between to choose. it's either wife/family or gambling. now that i'm currently working . gambling for me is an entertainment today. Smiley I'm just gambling because my friends and I bonding each other in a casino with a goals like if i lose 50 usd i will go home . just like that.
Yeah but you are not addictive and actually doing some awesome controlled gambling, its simple that you can afford to loose 50 usd while betting and hence you stop once you have lost that amount.
Problem occurs with gamblers that cannot control themselves, a person near my house has sold his house (on collateral to a personal lender) and now gambling.

As long as you're benefitting from what you're doing, it would be very hard to quit. Though that mostly is not the case as majority of gambling people seldom win. But it depends on the effects of gambling to the person if they would find it hard or not
If someone is winning from gambling then I am sure he wont consider reading this thread because when winning in gambling we feel like boss and personally I had a purple patch where I hardly loose any bets (betting in sports) and that time I remember I used to behave like rich people and now when I am broke I remember those days.
Impossible to quit once you are starting winning.
Well it's not really impossible but it will be very hard especially if gambling has been a major part of your life already. It takes a big amount of self control to give up something that you' re already very used to as your body will ask for it every now and then. Add to the fact that there will be times when you will actually win money. So it would be difficult to remove something in your system that gives you a lot of satisfaction.

There is situations you can have family members or services handle your money if you really wanted to quit that day.
Tho i see many gambling addicts choosing to play faucet only these days which is good in bad i mean their not stopping but their also not using their own money.

But most of the gamblers will not allow someone to handle their money because if they know that you will not do anything with your money but to gamble.

So it tends that many of them will just hold their money at their own pockets but if they have the own willingness to totally forget gambling.

They can just simply do it, by looking for some other interesting things.

I disagree with this any addiction must be treated by a professional, the help of friends and family members is necessary but a professional will be able to dig deep into the reasons behind this addictive behavior.
