I believe the CEO means well and is starting a real business and coin.
But he doesn't know enough about crypto, so he NEEDS a good
DEV TEAM. Find that and re-launch this weekend properly.
My BIGGEST COMPLAINT was the total lack of posting here,
facebook, or twitter of UPDATES. NO ONE WANTS to stay up
till 5am and work the next day. THERE WAS NO COMMUNICATION
other than launch moved to 12am, then launch 1:30am,
then launch 2:00am. THEN NOTHING FOR 4 HOURS.
Would have been nice to post here LAUNCH CALLED OFF,
GO TO SLEEP OR WORK. RE-LAUNCH PROPERLY THIS Weekend.
JUST DO THAT PLEASE.

Where is the CEO?!

It's another scam.....Sad

Dark coin uses keccak along side other similar algorithms
Is that Asic resistant. if it is i would suggest we use that.
except it is not implemented yet on nvidia cards, would'nt be fair... (I mean darkcoin)

If you want to be in the big boy games, you play hard. You reinvest your coins and get more equipment. I started out with a GPU which mined at 40kh/s, and now I have a small growing farm.
And that is PRECISELY what this coin is supposed to help with!! Now is your chance to turn your one GPU into a farm!!

The hardest thing about mining is obtaining GPUs, and that is what this coin was designed to fix.  It's the reason I was excited about it anyway.

I was excited as well, trust me.

Aside from the failed coin launch, he never could explain to me why his system was truly better than the system I use right now: Mine coins -> BTC -> Amazon -> 15%/20% Amazon discount -> My doorstep next day.

It comes down to distribution. Amazon can provide me with cheaper GPUs than him, and I have contacts in Europe and Asia to get cards from at or below MSRP if Amazon can't get it.

Someone mentioned that scrypt-n can destroy GPU. Is that true?

Caused my system to blue screen yesterday on the failed launch. Never had it with any other coins like panda. Keccak is by far the best algorithm you could use. Else people have to pump and dump just to pay their power bills

i mined scrypt   scryp-jane and scrypt-n  but whats the difference with Keccak ?  cant this be mined by those ASICs ?

There are no keccak asics. It is asic proof like scrypt-N
It uses less power, and is a lot easier on the gpu itself

hmm interresting since power costs a lot where i live and my r9 280x's are eating 300w each

can this be done with casual sgminer / cgminer ?

I know cgminer does it. It seems by far the best algorithm,  and as I said. It puts high end nvidia gpus close to high end amd gpus so it's more of a fair launch as this is gpucoin

I too was having a lot of problems. gpus kept dropping out constantly. i was going like mad trying to get up and running for every launch that didn't happen.

Nope.

So what does darkcoin use? I know that coin uses very little energy as my gpu fans dropped like a stone and silent when running it.

Agree! My quad miner pulled 250 less watts running it.

But the CEO of a company is responsible for the actions the company takes.  As a manager myself I'm not expected to know all the technical details but rather make good decisions and judgment calls to include hiring competent people, communicating, and setting expectations.  How the CEO conducts him/herself during a crisis really shows their metal.  Its not that people cant make mistakes, its how they learn from those mistakes.

Not contesting that the CEO is ultimately responsible for this project's success or failure..  I am merely making this recommendation to Hazard for his future projects,  who i think is trying to run a coin contract service... Smiley
