I'm beginning to wonder if part of the reason he immediately stopped talking to me, was when he found out I live up the street from his LLC address. He sure got quiet.

This incompetent twit has no intention of returning anyone's money, I can tell you that. He originally hired me to create the first iteration of GPUCoin (which was scrypt based), and then 12 hours before launch hired me again to change it into scrypt-n, based off a Vertcoin base. Due to the tight timeframe, I didn't have time to set up a proper dns seed, so to make the launch time I just put in a hardcoded node, which he was in control of. At launch time, he failed to have this node running, and the blockchain started forking. This wasn't a huge issue, and would have been pretty easy to fix. All he needed to do was get his node up running properly, or hell, even telling all the pools add each others as nodes. This would have fixed the issues, and the first launch would have fine. But instead of asking me, his developer, what to do about the issues, he decides on his own to abort the first launch. That was his first mistake. His second mistake was hiring some random newbie with 20 posts to do the second launch, which ended up being a 1:1 copy of pandacoin. Pitiful.

This guy has no idea what the hell he is doing, not even the slightest bit. I've reached out to him, asking him to temporarily give control of his bitcointalk account to me so that I could do PROPER launch. He hasn't responded. I'm sorry for all you guys who invested money into this trash. Best of luck with the legal proceedings.

I think part of the problem here is he probably has spent some or all of the IPO (on gpu's or ?) so he is scrambling. better to do it right once instead of wrong 3 times. just my 2 cents.

Why do I get the feeling this will have fallen on deaf ears.

They scammed us out of 71BTC .. nearly $50,000 at today's exchange rate. Not bad for some fake accounts and a website.

Have you followed the btc address he had you use? Go check and see where your BTC went, it hopped around quite a bit, and moved once again after the failed launch.

Followed it through to here:

https://blockchain.info/address/1P5PdEVy9ax2DnWLUo7j8WReNva4giMNSC

Then here:

https://blockchain.info/address/1DaFsb4UGtaspFeB1ueyHE5ewTHFQrffLk

These are recent transactions too. He's moving the BTC away

CLIFF NOTES: shouldn't have re-launched so soon, should have SOME communication, act like a CEO (professionalism), find best Dev you can, don't leave everyone hanging for 6 hours until 5am on a worknight, pretty much common sense shit here...

I don't get how people keep falling for this IPO bullshit. If someone needs legitimate coin to start a coin then the writing is already on the wall. Cryptocoins are something you can keep in your backpocket until you get everything working and ready for release. I don't understand the IPO thing, this community is ripe with Bernie Madoffs. I also dont understand how so many developers blow their load early trying to release coins that are not ready. Its either complete incompetence or pure arrogance, either is bad in my opinion.

I decided to leave this launch thread and come back a few hours. I was confident nothing would be launched. Looks like I was right. It also looks like more of my fellow IPOs are starting to wake up and smell the burnt coffee. This coin wreaked of failure the moment he (the owner) started talking about last minute changes. He claims the majority of IPOs supported all of his last minute changes--I would hope not, because that doesn't speak well of the other IPOs.

Upon 2nd failure to launch I officially sent him notice requesting my refund. I also setup a thread (in my sig) for other IPOs in case they need a place to coordinate. The "owner" isn't communicating with IPOs or anyone else. He should've appointed folks to communicate on his behalf if he was going to be busy. Of course, there's lots of "he should've" stuff here..

Great concept in thought. It's about all you can say positive for any of this. Good luck to anyone willing to stick by this guy. Maybe there's a reason he's no longer in the NAVY ...

As an investor I would like join my fellow investors who have voiced concern over the development team.

An actual development team would not act in such an unprofessional manner as the CryptoWest team did on IRC.

An actual development team would understand how coins work and be able to manage the complications of a launch.  A lot of this could have been avoided by someone with more experience.

GPUCoin:  Are you going to keep this development team?  You have already pushed the date back to Sunday so taking a day to research and hire a more reputable team should not be an issue.  It would instill confidence in the investors.

Why do I get the feeling this will have fallen on deaf ears.

Don't let yourself get f***d over again and again by incapable and greedy devs.

There are multiple failed launches of altcoins every day. Don't waste your time and electricity.

Fight back and join the Revolution. RevolutionCoin https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/re-ann-che-revolutioncoin-fight-coin-launch-fails-join-the-revolution-now-469910 is driven by the community. No devs here.

Spread the word!

You guys laughing at the childish dev REALLY made him cry and angry.
So running away with your money is a good choice.

Honestly, I'm usually one for giving people the benefit of the doubt.  But when there is 0 communication, people ask questions to try to get communication flowing.  There was absolutely no communication last night.  When I asked some very simple questions on IRC.  The "cryptowest" developer PM'ed me, called me a dumbass and told me to get off his back.  I simply asked if they fixed the block size and if they fixed the references from pandcaoin to gpucoin in the source.  Now being a developer myself, I can understand the frustration when you're under pressure, so I kind of chuckled at his response to me at the time.  But the lack of professionalism and common decency last night was pretty disgusting.  The IRC mods, the gpuc people, and the devs were acting like little children.  They were mocking people, being rude, posting links to rick roll vids, typing garbage in the chat, etc.  Pretty sad and telling.

Sure, it's just a new coin launch and not the most important thing in the world, but if you really want this thing to launch successfully and have people respect your business, then show just a tiny ounce of professionalism.  GPU Coin "CEO", I don't really care that you were awake for 24 hours and need to sleep.  Just post an update on twitter, post an update here, and send an email to the "IPO investors".  Is that really that difficult?  Otherwise, you are considered to be a joke to the "community".

Sad to say, but cryptowest did themselves a real disservice.  It's embarrassing how incompetent you were last night.  And that's being nice.  You got the block reward wrong?  It was a straight copy and paste of pandacoin code?  And you couldn't even bother yourselves to do a simple search in the code for the word "panda"?  Calling yourselves Developers is an embarrassment to Junior Developers.  Don't give us the crap that you were under pressure and there wasn't enough time.  Okay, if that was the case, then you should have been professional and delayed the re-launch before it ran.  The simple fact that you didn't know enough to know that you weren't ready tells a lot.  Clearly you should be fired if you haven't already quit, and CryptoGears or micryon.  Sadly, micryon gave many tips and suggestions on how to relaunch the coin last night, but you guys simply ignored his offers for help.

Anyway, good luck with the relaunch.

My mule don't like people laughing
How has there been no email to the IPO members explaining everything?  No twitter update?  We as a community who are willing to put up with this are being treated like dirt.

2 emails sent to [email protected] and [email protected] .. no response.

GPUC has run off with our BTC

Yup, and this will happen over and over and over again until you people learn. Trust no one.
