that cheap dc-dc boards are not really suitable for powering chips

you will need a very very stable, clean supply with almost no ripple

@xcooling,
I replaced the 16v cap with 2 parallel 220uF 25V I had.
It will be replaced by 2 parallel 470uF 35V since I'm back at home.

best results so far

1100Mhz with some HW errors 7.5Mh/s
or 1083MHz with almost no HW errors 7.2Mh/s

More tests soon since I'm back at home, but I'm still awaiting some heatsinks ordered 2 weeks ago.
We should be able to get 7.5Mh/s with almost no HW errors by cooling the chips.
Errors are appearing after some time and they are happening faster when the board gets hotter.

Next step will probably be an homemade improved power board that will be tried on one 5 chips pod before I try it on the blade.

more pics will be posted when I'll upgrade the PCB with cooling.

@J4bberwock, did u upgrade 1 or 3 capacitors on each board ?

Doubling the powerplugs ? directly soldering the powerwires would be easier and better.

Whats the stable core mhz and combined hash rate with 43Kohm ?

+1 for pics.

anyone tested a 43Kohm resistor ?

Could only source a 39 and a 43.
I'm using 43 +/- 5%

One of them is 42, the second one is 42.7.
Both PCB works correctly but very hot so active cooling .
Doubled power plugs, upgraded capacitors on one PCB and 0.75mm² wires to power the blades.

you can do whatever you want from 39 to 43, but as I read 43 is top.

got myself 39kohm resistors (type 603) and 220uf 35v capacitors.

Will post with my results once ive done the soldering ;-P  hoping for 1050mhz stable

I want to know what it does before I press it...
Doubt nothing's gonna break, but just to be sure.  Undecided

When button is pressed .......... tick tock tick ticok tick tock ......  BOOM!!!!!!!  Grin

No, I'm sure it's a reset button.
Someone else tried it as a last ditch effort to handle a DOA pod and it actually reset it. IT even started working and it's been hashing away ever since. Wink

Your button may differ Wink ......... BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!! Grin

you need to watch that is long lasting and for higher temperature.

I pushed it, it is not a switch it is a thermal switch, i think.
For capacitor you don't need to put on exactly the same with shape, but with specification and more zhan 16v.

Self destruction of the blade?

BTW, it's RST switch as on the pod.
Some kind of hard reset of the USB protocol.

It's connected to pin 7 of the STM32F103C8T

Did u try pushing it? Im guessing its some sort of reset button... but just a wild guess outta my ass tho =P
