Hi, my wiibox controller not detect my miner, any idea why?
Thank you

does your controller say lightning asic, if so then you need to find the ip address on your router underneath attached device. and use the ip address to access the controller.

if you have a controller from gridseed. just plug the power and Ethernet cable. wait 2 mins and run the scan on wiibox.net. best to access from google chrome, as it translates it into your preferable language

...

Not bad for 5 pods with only 2 fans, eh? Wink

...

You have done a stack of them removing the fans?

Can you show a picture ...

I was thinkg abbout building some piles with them removing the fans and exchanging them with slow 200mm ....

I'm running around 20 devices on Windows 7 with the new cpuminer binary.

Works fine ... but it lakes in monitoring capabilities ... also don't know if one has stopped hashing and would need a restart ..

waiting on a bfgminer support ...

what is the story 3 per pc?

That's what beastlymac said but it's not the case, I'm running 5 without issue (other then them stopping once in a while).

lajz99

this was an issue with the old cpuminer, I could only get 3 gridseeds to mine. but this is not an issue with the new cpuminer complied by the guys at cryptomining-blog.com.
get 10 gridseeds running for an hour now on windows 7

'The right to privacy matters'
my 1 piece floats at 360 -440 I am mining ltc at we mineltc.

it is only 73 f

I ordered another one.

this gear will hurt gpu sales.  also hurt the prices of ltc dropped from 0.0025 to 0.0022

 I ordered a second one I will want more as time goes on. but 2 of these = close to 800kh a r9 290 is around 830 kh
 you can not get a r9 290 for under 500 usd and 2 of these are about 500 usd.

these are not as loud and they would use under 20 watts the r9 290 would be over 220 watts.

so a little less to buy. and about the same hash power uses 14-20 watts vs 220 watts.

this appears to be an easy choice if you can get 2 for 500 usd

Update:
just checked litecoinpool stats and my hashers have been hashing away for a few hours now with the new port settings and the temporary throttled back clock speed of 800MHz. See previous quote 'above' for more info as to why....

On with the show...

Current stats:
pod1 = 398KH/s
pod2 = 336KH/s
pod3 = 343KH/s
pod4 = 377KH/s
pod5 = 364KH/s

Total hash rate:
1818KH/s
Nice!

If this is all still good before I hit the sack, cool. If It's still hashing when I wake up to snow outside, even cooler!

Peace!

Well damm!
newer update. just refreshed the pool stats page..

All in KH/s
\./
 |
pod1 = 332
pod2 = 294
pod3 = 412
pod4 = 350
pod5 = 517

total = 1905KH/s! Not bad for 5 pods with only 2 fans, eh? Wink
I might design a 5 pod brick if this works out.
I do not plan to hash BTC with these mugs. If I get into hashing BTC it will be a rack of blades running,,, 5TH/s and up!

By the way, 1905KH/s is only about 60KH/s slower than when I was clocking them at 850MHz...starting to think 850 is a bit unstable...hmm.....yet to be fully determined.

All seems stable otherwise for now.

I got this to work using 600 for freq just to get started.

my kh rate is at 224 but I would think it will rise to 300 in a bit.

so these have caused a drop in ltc as LTC price is now about .0023 down from .0025 a few days a go.  I will consider my next move. I have 1 5 chip piece no controller. using the low power scyrpt only. I will let it run for an hour or two then go to freq 800.  these will hurt gpus

edit now up to  274 kh.

I switched to freq 800

 I am hashing at 342   unit is cool to the touch.

 so cool that if  doing just scrypt   a quiet fan can be used instead of the stock one

oh BTW this pc has used so many different hubs and antminers my com port is 679!!

I could use 20 of these at the correct price.

what is the story 3 per pc?

let us know if your high hash rate at 800MHz lasts.
I think I'm having a UART problem in that my cheapo $20 Inland 10 port hub's UARTs ain't keeping up because they aren't really HIGH SPEED chips , just FULL SPEED just 1.1 compatible shyt... which I don't frikkin need...that is if its really the hub....might have only one downstream UART and 1 upstream instead of a high speed full duplex uart at each port, which I am thinking costs more than $20 ;]. I don't mind spending the money for a good hub but they gotta stop BSing people about them being real 2.0 High Speed hubs.....UGH!

Anyway, anyone know what a good REAL 10+ port 2.0 high speed hub costs? Brand name? Model number would be great, too! Wink

Was hashing great downstream 'receiving and dispatching work to GC3355 but would get hung up with the comeback downstream work...didn't do work, nothing. Just keep receiving and going DDDDUHHHHHHHHH!
So I lowered the port speed on all comm ports to 38400...and lowered the clock speed from 850 to 800 for now until I am sure I've solved the port issues.

So far Winblows 7 is holding up otherwise.
Forget about solving comm port issues on XP machines. Never ending battle, I fear. Fret not, Win7 has no comm port issues, assignment wise. Sees device, assigns comm port automatically, no hassles.

While I was hashing away at 850 for around 6 hours before the UARTs said "WHAT?" I was doing up to 496KH/s! All 5 total hashed at 1950+KH/s at times per pool stats. Ran at around 85* F. Whole smash running at no more than 25 to 30 Watts. Nice! And that's with only 2 fans cooling all 5 pods.
They're made to run much warmer - full time - so, 30+ Watts ain't nuttin! Saves around 10.65 Watts of energy which translates into more coin for my little machines to pay themselves off in a few months!

Let me know how you do. I'm sure others will be equally curious if not as adventurous or,, brave Wink
Peace!

Since I have 5 pc's running gpus for ltc I can do 25 if I am lucky.

this pc is running 1 gridseed with custom cg miner

11 antminer u-1 with custom cg miner for ant miners

1 red fury with  bfgminer.

Photos note the cpu use is under 4% with 3 mining programs

 note the high com numbers as this pc tests my sticks.

that silver stand is a letter /file holder from Target.
 these are so cool temp wise I can remove the stock fans put in an 8 inch fan right under  four miners on the top and on the bottom put a psu

It isn't worth it because of the initial cost for the miner.  There are much cheaper asic's for bitcoin mining.  These have more value because they mine scrypt which is higher profitability coins at the moment.  With all these asic's coming out, I expect the profitability of scrypt coins to level out with bitcoin in time.  For now though, it's not worth it to run these in any BTC mode, just a waste of power.

Hi, i'm new to this forum and i've been trying to get a gridseed 5 chip device, to mine in dual mode (BTC<C). i tried on windows7 (but i read on this post that is not possible yet) and i tried on the wiibox controller (first running 10 istances of minerd and then running 10 istances of cgminer, via ssh). Nothing, nada. After a while scrypt mining just stops. Can anyone help me with this? this is really starting to affect my mental health. Smiley

Thanks in advance to everybody.

Dont mine in dual mode, not worth it.  Use scrypt alone with the link to the miner above.

i'm already mining scrypt via wiibox ssh command line. i can't get passed 800Mhz but at least i'm mining Smiley
How come it's not worth it? are you saying that because of power consumption? do you think that they will stabilize dual mining?

thanks in advance

Im running with 800 now 900 gave me to many rejects.

rgdz,
bhai

Right, 900 = spit dummy
850 seems to be the sweet spot....

I tried this also and the results are:
1000MHz, just like I thought as it is per spec', and increments of 25MHz = impossible i.e. ain't programmed for it so if you try, the clock will just revert to default of 600MHz....

No magic black smoke! Wink

How high can the CPUminer overclock them Huh

I am running on 850. I know it supports 900 but what about 950 or 1000?

I'm running at 850 also with positive results.
Also saving 10.5W of power by running 1 fan per 2 or 3 pods-stacked.
Seems to be working well.

I was just looking over the GC3355 datasheet and the max tested clock speed for LTC is 700MHz.
The chart goes on to run the BTC cores all the way up to 900MHz in 50MHz steps.
That's it.
I wouldn't try higher clock speeds. It either won't accept it or will spit dummy and produce nothing but nonsense or perhaps even blow the poor little chip's brains out! Ew! Beware of Magic Black Smoke!
Of course and as always, try this stuff at your own risk! You blow it, you eat it!
Good luck!
Wolfey2014

I agree with ya. Not trying anything stupid. I have a feeling these can handle 1000 if software is capable of setting this frequency
