BTC B250C 12 GPU USB3.0-PCIE MOTHERBOARD

I have been talking to the guy about it, he informed me that it needs external power plugged in for more than 1 card to boot, also that 12 cards running that 6 pin power plug runs pretty warm. lastly the usb connections a very weak and loose, he has contacted the manufacture about the extremely loose usb connections.

So anti riser stance  seems to  wind over this board.

Shame as it looks nice.

Frankly  I see gpu mining taking a big hit due to  gear like the 16 gpu unit  I am mining.

My test unit has the

 p106-100

but the p104-100 and the p102-100   are coming

You can order  the 16 unit  with 16 p104-100   which are  1070 equals  set to 100% tdp it does  8000 sols at 2900 watts

but just clock  to 110  watts a card vs 150 watts a card  it will do 7000 sols  at about 2200 watts. it will have the 3 psu in a back plane setup.

at the moment they want 50 moq  at 11k  = 550,000 usd    this is out of my league.   I could order 2 or 3 maybe 4 of them.

I think  they are going to try to squeeze us out of the gpu mining game here.

you can do 50%

Thanks. My mining room is around 85°f pretty consistently. The hybrids stay at 46°c while the air cooled are 68°-71°. Trying to plan ahead for the summer months.

Do you have any windows in the room? if i had a bunch of hybrids, i would probably build something to direct the hot air from the rads outside so its not recycling the same air... not exactly sure what your setup

Also running fans at 100% on hybrids would probably be a good idea, fans are super cheap and if you need to get temps cooler you can always stack more fans on the rad....

picture is of a joke, but stacking 2 on each side actually helps some....

I got the hybrids in Nov cooling has not been an issue.

My 2 car garage attaches to my basement/ den
I can run up to 7kwatts in the garage in the winter if it is under 30f outside the garage will go to about 90f
I simply reduce the gear in the warmer months.
I can run 1-1.5kwatts in the summer.

the nature of my house is the walk out basement was always colder then the top floor.

now with miner the walkout basement is always a bit warmer then upstairs.
my fuel heat bills dropped from 250 usd to 75 usd in the winter.

my ac bill goes up a bit so warm weather months I just have reduced mining.
but the solar array gets more light so I can move some gear to the array.

spent the day fiddling with a new project idea, since i have a water well on the property for sprinkler system, i am going to tie in a run of pipe to trickle water when the lawn is being watered to top up a 55 gallon drum i have. Going to connect a water to water exchange in the drum of water to see if i can drop the loop temp some, figured the heat would make the water evaporate in the drum and i can adjust the drip rate into the drum to keep it full off well water when the irrigation system comes on....

Currently with Florida heat, im seeing as high as 55c during peak of day and dropping down into the 40's at night for the GPU loop.

Hey Phil, what fan speed do you set your hybrid 1080ti's at? My non hybrids are set to 78% but I'm thinking less % or auto for the hybrids?

I can get server grade PSUs with same wattage for half the price and longer/custom cables...

Server grade PSUS simply can not be compared.
Basically you are comparing a pickup truck to a bmw sedan.
This is a complex subject but I will give it a shot.

The onda b250  8 full slot + 4  plug in jack board

Is the best board to use the 1500 watt atx on.

You can do 8 x 1080ti's set to 60% tdp    150 watts on smos pulls around 1300 watts
really low noise too.
...

What makes the most sense to me for these multi-GPU, riserless boards - keeping in mind my relative rookie status/experience here - is to use a reasonable size ATX PSU for the board and to supply whatever fraction of power the GPUs consume from the PCIe slots (75W is the max specified, but usually only AMD comes anywhere close to that) and use a server PSU for the 8/6 pin power inlets on the GPUs. So far I've got (2) Onda D1800 rigs and the one with (6) GTX 1060 draws 600W total at the wall on Equihash, and that is almost evenly split between the 650W ATX and 750W HP server PSUs (I used a DC amp-clamp to verify current supplied by the server PSU [NB - I'm an EE, so have this kind of test equipment just laying around]). The economics of this system are not quite as good as they could be because both PSUs are running at <50% load and total cost was around $100, but it should be able to easily handle a 6x 1080ti rig and then it would be quite attractive.

will do 5 1080ti  when you go to six the cpu struggles.

should i join the asic side of mining?

Hard question.

easy short answer is yes.

be an inclusionist  <  not sure it is a word  but how about be diverse .

Down side  hot loud break easy  bitch to fix.

are you near a myrig/bitmainwarranty location  they are somewhat okay on repair.

I have next to zero basics right now.
60gb in side hack usb sticks
32mh in jestanop usb sticks
coming in
1 bitmain L3+
1 dragon mint an if I like 4 more

that will be the power cap

28 1080ti's
and the 16 gpu beast will do the gpu end.

what is next just mine and hold until the fall.

hard pick for me.
i would like 3 ltc miners and 3 btc miners but its hard for me to drop that money on miners that cant be fixed nor resold easily
i want more than just gpu miners but i love the resell of video cards

also i thought about going back to nice hash with all my miners any input would be awesome

any thoughts on that would be nice

the solar array =  about 11000 sols  of zec 16x 1080ti's
https://www.nicehash.com/miner/16yLHLoeyuCLPMXkVpC3gyrRYvwRGwjKJr

the 16 gpu review = about 4300 sols of zec 16x 106-100's
https://www.nicehash.com/miner/3QPFEdX8rtXHoVZHct5eUbp7AK1t1vRMfL

in house a few 1080tis 1200 sols of zec  and some gpus + cpus doing cryptonight  1200kh
https://www.nicehash.com/miner/1JdC6Xg3ajT3rge3FgPNSYYFpmf53Vbtje

in house 6 x 1080tis  about 4200 sols of zec
https://www.nicehash.com/miner/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3

around 21000 sols of zec pointed to nicehash

very little elsewhere

I can point to nicehash because I can take the loss if they are hacked.

been contemplating/starting my research about this as well. main concerns being the next gen of asics coming out in the near future (i have no idea if they will) but philipmas explanation of how bitmain has very little economic motivation to do so at the time makes sense. asic prices are going down and im bored waiting for the gpus to follow so might get in line for an s9 and get some hands on experience before alt season starts. best way to learn is to try it yourself so i'll probably pull the trigger soon haha
