Since I'm not in the business of disclosing private datas, I'll simply point out that 1Nbq2XZaRsKknf5fcT2wTXvBS31PaUWSeX is NOT Hashfast.

From a public key alone, you could not know for sure who any of your miners are.

unless of course he knows who that miner is, which i inferred from his statement.

A pool operator could also state this based on IP address(es), fingerprinting the hardware, etc... or simply knowing who that address really is!

I actually know who the miner is... I would not have posted otherwise.

If i was wiz and had someone pointing that much power at my pool and continuing to add to it i would know.  Vice versus if i was pointing that much power at the pool i would be speaking to the owner of the pool finding out about stability etc.

Thanks for sharing Wizkid057!

I imagine when someone adds 200TH to the pool, there is some level of coordination involved.

The forum trust stuff has largely replaced the scammer tag.

I've gone ahead and and put in a negative rating for Cypherdoc, Simon Barber, and Hashfast itself.

Am I missing any other parties which acted as agents for hashfast and concretely promoted the belief that if hashfast failed to deliver they would refund the full amount paid?

I'm at a BTC meetup in Sunnyvale, where the Hashfast VP of Engineering is giving a talk right now.

This is admittedly rather time-sensitive, but if anyone has any questions, I'll be happy to ask 'em!

Ask if they're still on schedule for shipping next week.

Not surprisingly, this was indeed one of the questions that came up last night.

And, as of a few days ago, ... ...  it looks like we're probably going to slip, by about a week.

Ironically, not because of the silicon, even though that is the part of the system that takes the longest to manufacture. That's going through the foundry smoothly. But we ran into a delay sourcing one of our other components.

We've now found an alternative source. But that delay means it'll be challenging for us to ship finished systems before the end of October.

It's disappointing, but unfortunately these things happen. I'm glad we've made it this far through the process, and are still so close to our target date.

(I'm watching every day to see how close Cointerra will come to their targeted tapeout date.)

Only a week delay though, right Amy?

I don't understand this at all.
Anyone can go to farnell or newark and order rolls upon rolls of whatever components would be necessary, with like 40 different options of alternatives in an instant. It would ultimately raise the manufacturing price to do it that way, but surely these brought quite a healthy profit margin in the first place.

And just a small little aside here...

We're missing very important data points on taking a decision about refunds, namely:

1) when and how the company will make good on the MPP, and;

2) when the company will ship (paid) upgrade boards, and;

3) what the final specs of the equipment are.

I think a reasonable person would see these as mitigating circumstances vis-a-vis Hashfast's insistence that you cancel within 15 days, because without those clarifications, many customers don't have sufficient information to make an informed decision, and the company seems to be deliberately withholding this information.

I'm especially concerned about the 15 day refund window:

Quote from: HashFast
This cancellation and refund is Buyer's sole and exclusive remedy for
HashFast failing to deliver by the December 31, 2013 guaranteed delivery date, and Buyer must cancel the order by January 15, 2014
to avail itself of this remedy.

It sounds like they're saying you can choose— within 15 days— to lock in an 86% loss, or endure potentially perpetual additional delays or failures to deliver.

(WRT the trust ratings: Any of you can leave them ratings... I don't get why I'm the only one whos done it so far.)

Knowing that there's no way for us to fight this legal battle in 15 days.

There are a bunch of feedbacks. But it only shows if you trust the other users giving them the feed backs. Click "show untrusted feedback" and you will see all of our posts.

the arbitrary deadline means nothing to the FTC. It is against the law to do this, and they will pay. IF you agree to their contract, you sign away your rights to recourse.

Can't we give google reviews of their website as well? So when people search for hashfast it will show their reviewed rating right there next to their website url in google results?

Maybe so.  But if a large proportion of the B1 customers got together in something like, say, the "Hashfast Customers Protection Union", set up a nice website, agreed to and made reasonable demands of the company - for information and compensation - then I think we could get something even better.

Like some nice articles in the national press.  All this interest in BTC that has generated miner orders is interest that can also focus attention on problems at miner companies.  Hell, the NYT ran a feature on a mining company last week.

Headline:  "Bitcoin mining company sees its customers rebel"  or "San Francisco bitcoin startup faces backlash from angry customers".
