Let's talk about the content guys, being unable to use Google Apps doesn't change anything to us.

Can someone with the email verify if it is CAN-SPAM complaint?

^ Will code for Bitcoins
Hopefully Hashfast's customers won't want to scam each other, so the fears of that may be overblown.

It's far from overblown IMHO. Do you know how easy is to compose an email with a GIF inside with link to a server which will log that email's IP address at the very moment you open that email to read it?

Real IP addresses of confirmed high-amount BTC owners are godsend for all kinds of port-scanning, router and firewall attacks, etc. If this doesn't turn in hundreds (or thousands) of BTC in steals and loses I would be very surprised.

Interesting.. the West coast got an email before we did here in phili... are they printing out the packets and 'shipping' them?

.....like how long does it take to bulk email less then 500 emails?

They are sending the emails in batches of ~100 alphabetically.  I know this because they used the To... field instead of the BCC... field and I now know all of the C-G email addresses of their customers.

Nice work Hashfast, way to fail at email.

I have email customer J-Q
I sell you very special price, ok ?
we need one person which will cordinate all issues with our lawyer.

And I have G-J's e-mail.  OoopsFast.

If this does come down to lawsuits, let me tell you, having their full B1 customer list will be a godsend to finding plaintiffs and suing them in a organized, rational fashion. Cedivad's lawyer is popping champagne corks.

Hopefully Hashfast's customers won't want to scam each other, so the fears of that may be overblown.

I now have the email addresses of customers from [email protected] through [email protected]

If you have a different list (outside of this range), please forward it to me via PM.  I will construct a properly addressed email and warn all of the customers about their leaked email and to be on the lookout for possible phishing attempts.

If you don't feel comfortable forwarding me the already exposed list.  Let me know and I'll give you a template email to send.

I'm fairly safe with an @gmail address, but how many of the smaller companies would fall for a social engineering phishing attempt.  Of the 100 email addresses that I now have belonging to 100% confirmed bitcoin miners I'm fairly confident that I could talk at least one mail provider in to doing a password reset.  A skilled con could probably get 3-5.

Once I have access to the email account, it's trivial to request password resets via email from coinbase, btc-e, havelock etc. etc.

Leaking customer emails is simply unacceptable.

Sad, but true. Let's hope that their batch 1 customers are honest people. Otherwise we will hear horror stories of how "someone stole my BabyJet".

I think FastFail should send out another e-mail apologizing for exposing the e-mail addresses of their batch1 customers. Of course they should once again use the To field to stay true to their fail and fail fast motto.

Dear Customers,

Our apologies for not communicating more often these past days. We have been going all-out on production in order to ship Batch 1 units by December 31.

We have enough GN chips in hand for all Batch 1 orders.  We also have enough hardware (boxes, cooling systems, power supplies, etc.) on hand for all batch 1 orders.

We are in the final stages of production.  Our initial modules (Rev 0) had reliability issues due to the PCB layout (Printed Circuit Boards).  We received Rev 2 PCBs this morning and they are currently being assembled.

We expect these rev2 PCBs to work well, and to begin bulk production and be on track to ship batch 1 orders December 31.

The remaining steps (assembling the modules into the Sierra or Baby Jet chassis, packaging and shipping) are quick and generally very predictable process.

Please know we are doing everything possible to get you your orders as soon as we can.

We will  update you with our progress as it happens. Stay tuned to Twitter and our HashFast Blog for the most up to date news.

Many Thanks & Happy Holidays,

The HashFast Team

I don't think anyone gives a shit about whether it's in bulk of 500 or 150 emails. What's more important is that that email mentions ship by December 31 when in fact the TOS is based on DELIVERY, not shipping.
HF is probably playing dumb but we'll remind them of their own terms....

I'll give them the benefit of a doubt and assume the lack of clarity in the language of that e-mail is due to the work of an over-caffeinated and sleep deprived mind.

arorts, you might be correct, but you are incredibly confident that the EXWORK terminology doesn't apply there. How do you know that for sure?

I dunno, but I wish they were a bit more specific and careful with their wording:

" and to begin bulk production and be on track to ship batch 1 orders December 31"  This makes it sound as if they will actually ship ON the date of Dec 31, and not before. Should I just assume they will ship early. I dunno, but making assumptions with hashfast is a dangerous game.

Also no info regarding power consumption, chip efficiency;anything technically useful. I guess we will find out Dec 31...or will we Wink

I also noticed the 'begin to ship on dec 31 language.'   If they wait to ship till Dec 31, there is no way for it to be delivered by dec31!!

Psssh..these guys are so cool they got a time machine. They will pull a Dr. Who on our asses and deliver our miners before we even decided to order them. Mind officially blown!
