The bet amount used in gambling is not a factor but rather the amount of time you spend gambling is what really matters. Many are acutely addicted to gambling but spend little time on gambling while on the other hand many are not addicted to gambling despite spending a lot of time throughout the day. I gamble at least two days a week but I also spend a lot of time on my studies. In this regard, I do not compare gambling to anything other than entertainment. But I am not worried about how addicted I will be in future but I always consider gambling as a part of my education as well as entertainment.

You still have to gain control so you don't get addicted. Maybe you limit your gambling activities because you are still busy with other activities. Those who are very addicted, make gambling their main thing and everything else becomes less important.
The more often you play and are at the casino, it can take you one step deeper into addiction. Hopefully, you can still control your gambling activities. it will be fine, no matter how much you spend. as long as you get pleasure and satisfaction.

Probably. The question is what is considered an addiction. Some consider it an addiction when the negative consequences of this addiction have already manifested themselves and things are very bad. My assessment is more severe and when I notice that my brain is very absorbed in thinking about gambling, then I understand that the addiction is manifesting itself (even if I do not place bets). If I place bets and notice this, then I take a break from gambling until I begin to be almost indifferent to it again. Thanks to such caution, I never found myself in unpleasant situations that addicted people often find themselves in.
You have control over gambling that's why you can take a break from gambling and then gamble with a right decision but those who are addicted to gambling cannot take a break and gamble even if they want to. A gambling addict's brain may regulate gambling. Drug Addict When a person becomes crazy because he can't take drugs and his brain doesn't work like a gambler when he is addicted to gambling his brain doesn't work like a normal person because of what he decided or did at that time. He himself does not know. Just like you take breaks from gambling, I also decide to gamble only when my brain is fresh and when my brain is cold. When I feel that a bet or decision to gamble now may go against me, I take a break and decide to gamble again with a better mind set-up.

There were times when I gamble too much. Maybe much more than I did now due to boredom or was trying to escape a difficult time. I was this close to being dependent on gambling. I knew I was already spending so much time gambling but didn't know it was that bad until it was pointed out my best friend. He saved me. If you are going through a tough time, it may be difficult to talk to someone about it especially it you are trying to be a man. However you must talk to someone to save yourself from self-destructive habits.
Gambling too much, but you can still have good self-control, which will not harm you because you can still restrain yourself from gambling addiction. However, not many will be able to do it because most people will experience a gambling addiction that they are not aware of, so without self-control, a person will be at risk of becoming addicted to gambling. You are lucky to have friends who have saved you from excessive gambling, and those who help you from difficulties will see and help you to get out of these difficulties before you get into worse difficulties. And we have to be able to tell someone about the problems we are facing so that they can know and help immediately.
As long you are really that having a good control with your finances then it should really be just that fine. There are really just those people who are really that getting derailed with their
gambling activity on the time that they would really be making themselves impulsive on the time that they would be playing. In my time or moment on dealing with gambling then i had never ever
made myself being a gambling addict. Why? I do only spend on the amount on which i do or can afford to lose and never ever go into going into beyond limits.
People do usually mess up on the time that they would really be that going past into those limitations on which it is something that you shouldnt really be doing in the first place.
Gambling could wreck up your life if you arent that thinking carefully or making actions that well.

At one point in my life that was true, I did felt like an addict, to be fair if I was a true addict I wouldn2t be so easily able to stop, but the period itself was risky. People should realize that when it is getting out of hand financially and starting to hurt you, that's when you know that it is doing terrible and you should stop. I was incapable of stopping before anything bad happens, I ruined my finances for nearly 6 months with a terrible loss, and then I stopped, at least I was capable of stopping there, some people continue even after that, but I have never gambled like that ever again.

I do gamble even to this day, but never gamble that way so it doesn't hurt me. Knowing when to stop and to limit yourself and not hurting your finances is the key, there is nothing wrong with gambling at all, you can definitely keep gambling and you can definitely keep doing better, as long as you are doing fine, there is nothing wrong with this at all.

I'm sure there are many gamblers who have experienced gambling that is too excessive, which makes them feel like they have exceeded their time limit. I have also felt that way, when I won several rounds, I was very confident and gambled too much, I even got into debt to my friend just to return my capital which was previously lost while gambling, pressure after pressure in gambling is actually very difficult to fight, it takes a strong drive from within yourself to be able to fight it all.

Currently I am aware and am in the stage of improving my own financial condition. Have you ever felt like a gambling addict? and how much did you lose in gambling?

I would not call myself a gambling addict but there were times I lost more than I could afford to. In past I spent hours in gambling sites. made 10+ sports bet a day for some months. And played dices and crash till I emptied my balance.
I was highly interested in horse racing as they were fast and stats readily available. I also loved using martingle and its mods on dice and crash. Sports bet were easier to plan but dice and crashes were emotionally motivated. A day, few years ago, after some spectacular loss, I rage bet all of my crypto holdings at lost it all. I was sick and depressed for a week. After that I have highly restricted my gambling desires and lost no more than in 3 digits.
Gambling is done for fun but no one can understand when this fun gradually turns into addiction.  When one wins a lot from gambling he cannot stop gambling.  And even when a gambling addict loses, he cannot quit gambling.  Because it is very difficult to control yourself in these two cases.  But when someone's winnings and losses in gambling are almost equal, he feels boring towards gambling and can control himself and quit gambling immediately.  Extra wins make gamblers greedier and extra losses panic.  So both of these take away control from ourselves
Self control and discipline id what can help a gambler to control himself, by having a gambling budget and he should stop gambling when he has exhausted his gambling budget. He should also set a time limit for his gambling activities that will enable him stop gambling the moment the time elapse.

Too much of everything is bad and when get carried away with your emotions and the fun, you might end up being an addict which will have a negative effect on you. Gambling is dun when you know when to quit playing because you can still come back tomorrow to enjoy the fun.

I have never been a gambling addict partly because I had so much financial obligations that needed to be settled with my savings thus I only funded my gambling account with little fund once that account is exhausted through losses incurred on betting that means I will have to wait till the end of the month before refunding that account again with that I can't be addicted to gambling, even if I have extra funds in my savings I don't think I can easily lure or influenced into becoming addiction because I had disciplined myself in term of finance by having a monthly budget where I account every penny spent.

You've got a nice method of controlling your money, as a gambler. Do you think of depositing more funds, if your financial obligations reduces? Because, I was thinking the financial responsibility facing you, influenced this mean self control of yours. However, it's indeed a useful gambling advise for addicts. Every gambler is meant to have other activities that should influence their financial economy. It's challenging, tough and difficult to break free from addiction. Even when we do, the underlying piece of troubles associated to neglected financial obligations, bounces back on the person like a rubber ball. But, this time harder than before. Where would he begin to solve his problems. Imagine losing five months of earnestly deserved riches in gambling, alone. It's more like, living a life of gambling. Having no other utility that entices the addicted person, until it does. Maybe after being healed. Endlessly thinking of the cheerless, conflicting and confusing repercussion of any addiction, leaves me with one choice, gamble responsibly. I don't foresee a future, where a glimpse of opportunity would be made available for gambling addiction, in my years of gambling. Though it's not easy to predict the future, but such a rock of trouble is crushable. The damages of gambling addiction, should be avoided like a plague.

Gambling addiction come in phases and classes,  while some are more pronounced,  the other may be hardly noticed at some point and so the one whois exhibiting that habit or character may not even know he or she is already addicted,  but still is addict,  but if you want to be free from that is to be totally in control of whatever goes on around the whole process of gambling and that is when you are able to decide to either continue or take a break,  this is a very important point for all to be able to clarify where and when to put a stop to whatever tendency of being addicted.

So I have experienced that level at which I want to hold on,  but the quest to continue to play even though I may be at lose or even losing but can stop,  but when I realize that it was taking hold of me and I was able to hold myself back and freeing fro that hold also.

From what you just narrated, let me quickly clarify some things. Addiction is a word and there are both good and bad addictions, only that people often don't care about calling it an addiction when it's good/positive and they are making money from it. It's the negative one where they are losing money and continue to waste the money in the name of gambling they often label addiction. If such a person cannot stop, this is an addiction, but they actually care because it's not positive. Personally, I see no reason why I would be making money consistently in gambling and I would want to quit, please for what? In this sense, the term addiction dies untraceable, and instead of calling it an addiction, you would hear gambling is my hobby or Oh I have a serious passion for gambling. And since this doesn't affect you in any way, it's all good and there is no reason to worry yourself.

But wasting money is so bad, that it might start a little before it graduates fully, this is why it's good that we observe ourselves carefully. It might start from a funfilled affair, and of course, most addictions are people's hobbies, it all depends on how we do not let them control us. The moment we see the iota of addiction, especially when that thing is no longer positive for us again, it's better we quit it immediately. In case quitting is difficult, that is when we need to fight harder or call for external help after trying everything possible without success.

There was a time when I just bet for the sake of betting. So I guess it's addiction already.  In the past, I also felt the urge to play games and there were times when I forced it even if I had priorities to do. And then I felt bad when luck was not on my side so it's better if I just gave a pass and did my other priorities. But they are not something serious because I always bet according to my financial status. And it is very important for us to continue learning lessons in life to become a better person. I still bet regularly with minimal amounts and I am having fun with it.
The information is incomplete so I don't think that you are an addict based on your description, if you were addicted, you would've made sure that your gambling habit becomes a priority and you are finding ways to make sure you have money to satisfy your gambling habits but it seems to me that you have the discipline to be able to stop whenever you want to and you even control yourself to the point that you are only betting according to your financial status so I think that you're doing just fine and you're not an addict, at least in my book. You're just a fully aware casual gambler that's concerned that you're going towards addiction, that's the best that I can explain what's happening to you.

As for me, never been a gambling addict because I am too poor and stingy with my money that I don't spend it too much on pleasures of life and instead just use most of it to pay the bills and save the remaining money by accumulating bitcoin, that's about what I do so I don't get addicted, maybe when a friend comes over and we want to have some fun then betting or poker is played together while cracking a cold one.

There are several purposes that make someone come or get involved in gambling, including gambling to find entertainment when they are bored or to fill their empty time and there are also those who deliberately come with the aim of earning income, for these two choices honestly it is completely out of the control of others and only they know about what their purpose is in coming to this gambling activity. But sometimes even if you come just for entertainment it will not always rule out the possibility that you will feel addicted, why? logically everyone needs money and when they get a win then their common sense about the real understanding of gambling will be easily disturbed, which initially they understand that this is an activity that is nothing more than fun but as time goes by and is accompanied by getting a win then slowly their mindset will change and become serious in terms of putting hope.

The feeling of fun and excitement generated from gambling especially because of the winnings will make them forget about everything including limits, which is why they always force something that is basically difficult to achieve, they start to depend on this activity. You have a great way of engaging in your gambling by only putting an amount that you can always account for, that's the best.

Gambling is a very serious addiction who gets completely addicted to this addiction will lose all happiness and peace in his life he will always be in depression. An uncle I know is completely addicted to gambling now he likes to spend quiet time for gambling. He is now like  At one point he lost all his money and property. Now he is neglected by his family. His family does not look at him as well as before. So we must always be careful of gambling. So that we can live together with our family.

Family shoudn't abandon one of their own, didn't they know he was an addict to look for ways to help him. If family are observant, they can notice when one of their own is going through a rough time in life. Addiction isn't something you fight alone because you can't defeat it alone. You need professional assistance from people that have dealt with similar problem before and also need the encouragement of your family members or love one so you have a reason to keep going.

I haven't been an addicted gambler but I know people who have been addicted and they're doing better now. One way to help an addict is to understand why he's addicted. People get addicted for just loving bets while other individual get addicted because they're looking for money and depends on gambling. For this type of individuals, as you help them also provide them with opportunity to earn without having to gamble and they'll stop been addicted.
Being addicted isnt just a personal battle; its caused by a lot of different psychological, social, and sometimes genetic factors working together. Obviously, paying attention is helpful, but its not the only thing that matters. Regarding skilled help, you're exactly right! It is important. Lets not forget the fun side of gambling, though. Its supposed to be exciting and fun, right? That rush of energy and the tension!

Now, the most important thing is to understand "why" addiction happens. Sure, people bet for fun or to make money. But when you look more closely, its usually about the thrill and the escape. So, lets not make fun of the fun part while we're helping. Its possible that the answer is not to quit all at once, but to find a better balance, right? Give them options that are just as exciting but dont involve as many risks. That energy needs to be redirected, not just pushed down!

I see a lot of people here talking about gambling responsibly. Yes, that is something very true, but have you ever been a gambling addict?

To be honest in the past I have spent a lot of money gambling. What I mean here is that I spent all my savings on gambling. Maybe the nominal amount is not that big but it makes me feel like a gambling addict. I spent 5 months of my savings on gambling. Currently I am aware and am in the stage of improving my own financial condition. Have you ever felt like a gambling addict? and how much did you lose in gambling?

Addiction to gambling isn't something anyone will want to experience as it's actually like giving all your life to gambling and you can't do anything in life without involving gambling related activities because even some ordinary arguments with a friend you can equally involve yourself in a bet with them. Though I've lost huge amount of money is gambling and I must say that keeping gambling records sometimes also helps in reducing the rate at which one gambles. I was deeply involved in gambling that sometimes I sell important things just to get money to play gamble so a day came I now check my gambling records and I discovered the huge amount I've lost so far so I got provoked and started reducing my gambling rate gradually though I still play gamble but it's not like an addiction because sometimes I spend weeks without gambling unlike before that I don't spend a day without gambling. So keeping these records helped me out of being addicted to gambling.
The fact that you have lost a huge amount of money in gambling and still gamble means that you are addicted to gambling. A gambler himself does not realize when he has become addicted to gambling. By gambling we are losing money and even after losing money we are gambling again by any means managing money but when we are not able to manage money or temporarily unable to gamble then instability is created in our mind for gambling that is gambling addiction. As easily as a gambler becomes addicted to gambling, he cannot get himself out of that addiction as quickly. When a gambler thinks deeply about how he is losing money, he will continue to gamble until he loses money if he does not quit gambling. Every gambler may get addicted to gambling in the first instance and he may not realize when he is getting addicted to gambling.
