I have exchanged BTC face to face several time in my local area. You know, there aren't any place which accept Bitcoin in my country so I have to make a deal online or face to face with someone who is holding Bitcoin. Actually, It is quite easy and while buying or selling Bitcoin, I can have a chance to meet other people who love Bitcoin like i do

I'm kind of afraid to do that, you know... Exchanging BTC face to face exposes you to different dangers, especially when the sum you want to exchange is over $1K. I prefer completing exchanges online, where my identity is hidden. This way I can feel safe, but I have to make sure the website I'm going to choose will NOT be a scam.

I've been using BTC for a while. I've been using it at exchanges, to trade altcoins and to order goods over the Internet, but I've never exchanged BTC with someone in front of me. At a store or between friends, or family. This despite having had long conversations about BTC with various kinds of people, and attending a few meetups.

Who has exchanged BTC F2F?

Yes, I did the same what you are saying face 2 face Cool
Actually I made sold my btc one Month ago with a person who was in my city ( old trader of Bitcoin I found him in a WhatsApp cryptocurrency group ) .
But unfortunately I made sold of Bitcoin of price $1.5 only but that was a awesome moment .

No. None in my family and friends know much about bitcoin but if they knew I would do that for sure. That would really be interesting as there would be less possibility of scam.

I don't really know any that use Bitcoin around me. When I go shopping, I always have cash with me and I never have the courage to ask anyone if they accept Bitcoin. If I were to do Bitcoin trading, I will do it online simply because the process is much easier (at least more security compared to meeting with a stranger) and faster since there is more trader.

I have only exchanged bitcoin via an atm machine but never with friends or family as My Wife and myself are the only people in our family that engage in anything bitcoin related. We try to explain to them about ti but they still think of bitcoin as some nerdy futuristic gig.

Going face to face in exchanging or trading Bitcoin can be a good way for people to really understand the power of Bitcoin but we have to be careful especially with people whom we don't have a personal connection with and we should be doing it on public places.

I guess that would be better. Its more safer because you can see the actual person youre going to transact with your btc. You cqn recognize his/her face. But it is not really necessary because there so many escrow service which we can trade our btc safely. You can hire one if you want. Its just a hassle if you are going to meet the person face to face.

Yes I have but for small amount only , because I did it with my friends (buy/sell btc) so I don't get scammed with them and I can get my money instantly. But with the unknown person I haven't and don't want to do it unless for some reason.

So far i have not encountered exchange btc to a person face to face. Even buying bitcoin i have not experience. But i think it will be better if you do that because you will.meet personnaly the person you are exchaging btc. Plus the better chance you can get friends and make you a his regular agent for exchange. Just be careful about tge person you are transacting with. Its better if you take some picture of him/her. Just in case he did somthing wrong.

Nope never tried it before but what is the sense of using Bitcoin if you will just going to trade face to face. I used bitcoin because it makes my life easier no hassle when making a deal with others they will just send Bitcoin to your address then in less than 5 mins if you see the transaction in your wallet you can already give the goods to the other party.

Me too I did not experience transacting with someone face to face with bitcoin but I am looking forward to look for it. Just to gain more friends and know someone personally who are into bitcoin near my community.

I have no experience exchanging btc personally. Its better if you that because you will the person are negotiating with. Just make sure that the meeting place is public like parks or malls. Its also better if tbere is security camera just to make sure the person that you meet will not do anything stupid.

I do it a fair bit.  I get them to meet at the local casino.  Lots of security there and a few thousand dollars doesn't look out of place.  I then get them to hand the cash to the croupier who count cash for a living and can spot counterfeits.  Also the casino absorbs the risks and you're not under pressure to count correctly.

Then take the chips off the croupier.  Again, counting 2x $500 is easier than a bunch of notes.

Scan their QR code on your phone and your done.

I've exchanged bitcoin F2F with myfriend, maybe because BTC is digital where you don't need to meet in person with someone only to send BTC for fast transactions and non-refundable

Never have and don't think I ever will because as a cryptocurrency that is the reason I wanted to use it in the first place so I can use it on the computer. And also as most like to use it in this way as well:  For the anonymity it presents. Smiley

So far no, but I would like to do it.
Main reason why I never exchanged bitcoin face to face that I live in small city and there are no people who are changing bitcoin face to face. I would need to go almost 100km to nearest big city where I can find some people who do that.

I've never done that. very difficult to find exchangers in the city I live in, and even, very difficult to find another bitcoin users. I just make the switch via facebook, or the official website created especially to exchange money, and I think it's better, and easier.

Well, I see the majority of the people are like me. Face to face transactions are rare, and I think it's a pity because I've done several cash transactions those past few months. Most notably, I've been buying and selling some old cars, and parts. I'll insist net time about using BTC to make the deal.
