I've been using BTC for a while. I've been using it at exchanges, to trade altcoins and to order goods over the Internet, but I've never exchanged BTC with someone in front of me. At a store or between friends, or family. This despite having had long conversations about BTC with various kinds of people, and attending a few meetups.

Who has exchanged BTC F2F?

No and i will never trade bitcoin face to face. The risk is too high.

There aren`t any people in my city who use bitcoin. Sad
You can prevent from any risk that you will have when you're going to make transaction face to face by asking your friend to accompany you , and also have a transaction in such crowd area will lower your risk
Though, if you didn't sure then just don't do it. But i can say that by transacting face to face to your nearest seller will simplify your transaction rather than doing complicated verification

I haven't. Like, find a needle in a lot of straw.
Doesn't make sense, this will need to be moving on the off topic.  Roll Eyes

If you think that this type of topic should be moved to off topic then most of the bitcoin discussion topic should be in off topic. What OP is asking is not a immature type of question. how much people are in bitcoin and how they are working with bitcoin that is what the outcome of this thread.

I have never done any face to face selling of bitcoins as i mostly sell my bitcoins through local wallet as it is more secure and safe and i receive my fiat currency in my bank directly with escrow i send them my sold bitcoin safely

I have done lot of selling of my bitcoin earning through signature campaign and skill work, but i have sold mostly online through localbitcoins exchange through bank transfer, only once i had experience of selling it to my friend because some one of his friend told about bitcoin and then he got remembered of me gave me long back details and then he got all info from me and purchased some bitcoin for investment.

I've done it in public places with strangers for transactions worth up to around $5K. I personally wouldn't risk carrying any more cash than that.

...

I have bought BTC for cash from people I did not know (at a Starbucks for example) four times with success.  Yes, my counterparty then knew who I was, but otherwise no one else.  No other trail (I learned to have them sent to bitmixer.io directly).  I typically paid 3% - 6% premium over "spot".  I found them via localbitcoins, but that turns out to be a hassle in my city.

One time I met with a guy before knowing how much premium he wanted.  He wanted too much (12% over), so I walked.  And then drove back home, further than he did no doubt...

Sad

Lesson learned.

Nope, I wouldn't exchange BTC face to face, as the main features of bitcoin is anonymity, and it doesn't seem to be as convenient as buying online, or from a bitcoin ATM.

exchanging bitcoin face to face is not a popular method and i doubt many have done it. you only do it if you want to "sell bitcoin for cash". and i honestly can not think of any other situation that it may be needed and since i have never needed to sell for cash i have never done it either.

Some bitcoin ATM's do let you sell bitcoins to them for cash, which IMO is easier than face to face.

I personally haven't done it at any point, but I might consider it for sometime in the future, maybe.

Never really had a point to anyways, it's not like it really matters that much to me. Online exchanges do everything I ask for them to, and meeting someone face-to-face is just burning money and/or time going somewhere.
