I have an increasing number of friend who appreciate what Bitcoin is and they actively started using them. I've taught them how to safely store the key how to transact and what they can do with it.
Some of them are so enthusiastic about it that we transacted face to face

Well i had exchange BTC face to face with my friend.  We often trade with local currency and bitcoin whenever one of us is in need of money.  But with stranger, I never had an exchanged with BTC to the face to face.  I often use an exchanger to change my BTC to local currency  or buy BTC.

I've been using BTC for a while. I've been using it at exchanges, to trade altcoins and to order goods over the Internet, but I've never exchanged BTC with someone in front of me. At a store or between friends, or family. This despite having had long conversations about BTC with various kinds of people, and attending a few meetups.

Who has exchanged BTC F2F?

Yes many times already since Im one of the known member in our social media group that dealing on buying and selling bitcoin. Im not with the possession of some coins in most of the transactions since I can't handle most of the request if it's only me who will do the funding and sources. Sometimes it just handed by or something like that like an escrow in real world. Also, Im only dealing with the request within my preferred area. Come on they are to one who have to adjust lol.

Meetups is really good in case our local exchangers or any services that involves buying and withdrawing bitcoins are not present. Good for emergency purposes too.

Yes, I have sold Bitcoins for fiat currency face to face. But the buyer was someone who was known to me previously, and the amount was quite small (sold BTC0.02 for around $15).

I have done this many times before. We have a weekly Bitcoin meetup at one of the local pubs, and I only fund my wallet with enough bitcoin

to not over indulge on the beers. The problem is, when the beers are flowing, we tend to show off a bit, in front of non-Bitcoiners and then I

buy some extra bitcoin, just to demonstrate how it is done. I then buy bitcoin from other members and pay them with fiat. I then buy a round

or two, and pay with bitcoin. { We have a arrangement with the pub owner to have the meetings at his place, if he accepts bitcoin as a

payment option. } We usually run a tab, and make one payment at the end of the evening.  Grin

I have not done face to face before even reputable exchange sites will always avoid personal contact because probably the cost of making face to face transaction if we can just transact online. I visit the site, generate the address I will transfer the coins to, then I supplied my account details which will be credited with the agreed FIAT value. As simple as that...

I have never done that,it is way easier to do it online and faster as well, localbitcoins is a good option,as well as the trade section here-there are always members willing to trade BTC and make a fast and smooth trade and that is why I prefer that way of exchange.

No, i never sell bitcoins face to face because of will need the time for meet up and it is not efective for me,
Selling bitcoin via online (markets) more efective and fast than sell bitcoins face to face.
Mostly users bitcoins they always sell bitcoins via online too, although there are risk must be taken is like getting scam or hacking.
But sometime if there are much users bitcoins on local area, i will try selling bitcoin face to face and i think it will be good for looking for new friends and experience.

I have never exchanged btc face to face but through skype and bitcointalk. I prefer online payment because of its anonymity. Not many people are awre of bitcoins.
Same here i dont experience to transact F2F and i wont like to do it also even theres a lot of bitcoin users on my country. Online payment would really be the best if you really like anonymity and i dont really like to show my face and show my self on public or to someone. Its really risky though.

I have never try this before because I think it is too hassle for the both of you, except if you don't know really each other and you want to have a transaction safely then this is the good idea to do. But if the one that you are going to exchange your bitcoin with is your friend or someone that you already know for a very long time, then I guess this is not really necessary do, just do it online, so that you can save your time and energy.

Trading face to face might give traders at ease of not not getting scammed but it is not really a good method to attract customers cause not many people are aware in bitcoin . Maybe you can post in your respective local boards here and do the transaction personally.  The only risk is meeting a stranger  doesn't guarantee that it will be safe,  worst case scenario is you life might be in danger.

yeah it's like functionality on a bitcoin is anonymous and confidential, when you transact face to face course someone will know your real identity right?
and an anonymous function of bitcoin will not be useful?

Who has exchanged BTC F2F?

Happened to me once, it was weird experience. I mean, moment you handing out cash and praying that he will not cancel 0 conf transaction until 2 hours after transaction (current average waiting time).

Next time ask the seller to use localbitcoins' escrow service. The 0.5% fee is small and the release is instantaneous.

I have used it a couple of times in local bars that accept bitcoin. Was a nice way to test how it works.

The funny thing was that I had to explain the bartender how to use the payment system for bitcoin as he didn't know how to request a transaction!

I have done it quite frequently, but only to family and friends. Quite often I have offered them a 10% discount just for the sole purpose of getting them into Bitcoin. But I can tell you one thing, I would never sell or buy any coins face to face with strangers. That's my number 1 priority rule of what I will never do. If you do it like 10 times, then 9 times it might turn out to be a successful deal, but one of them might not end in your advantage. The more you deal with strangers through whatever site, the more chance of facing someone with bad intentions. That's why I simply don't do it. Better safe than sorry.

I dont experience regarding on this matter on having F2F trades with bitcoin since its not really known on my place that i could able to make transactions. This thing does really matter on how high is the adoption of bitcoin into your place because if its still low you would really experience this kind of thing.
