ICO's were very lucrative last year and I was fortunate to invest in few ICO's which turned out to be successful. Moving to this year, ICO's has been challenging and many ICO's didn't meet their expectations. Few ICO's that were successful, listed their tokens far lower than the ICO price, making it impossible for investors to get their returns. Investors have to wait for so long to recoup their capital. The bearish trend of the market has also contributed to the poor ICO participation this year.

It needs a lot of research nowadays to find a promising ICO. It is still possible to make profit investing in ICO
as an early bird and get high bonus in pre-sale. We have just be very selective to find the best ones.

I am grateful I have felt the results of the ICO that is the result of participation in a bounty campaign. the results of that are what makes me more excited about the return to engage in ICO, besides the great results obtained, I would also be a lot to learn in the forum.

I haven't invested in ICO before because I prefer to buy coins that are already listed in the market. and it's better to invest for the long term I guess. moreover, so many coins are down at this time. and this is an opportunity for long-term investment.

With the latest situation about ICOs I prefer to invest in strong alt coins who are in the top 100, because they are more in the cryptocurrency space.

u can join be participant for their project and he will give you free coin
sell that coin in exchange, then tranfer to your wallet

That means that if in the ICO, what he meant is that you have not received money from the ICO?

If I myself get money from the ICO when the ICO was held in my country of residence, I bought A token around 0.1 USD and then after entering the Exchange the token rose to 2 USD, unfortunately I only bought 0.5 EThereum.

But if you sell it at $ 2 or are still greedy and want it to grow, I know many of those projects hit the same growth rate as the ICO in mid-2017 and hit the highest price in January 2018, Now it's only a few hundred dollars, meaning it's dead

Both IPO and ICO are similar in many ways. Both are the process of collecting money before the project is put into practice. And there are risks too as the future of the project is uncertain. It may be successful or failure. So I think it is riskier to invest in ICOs, and a beneficial in less cases.

An initial coin offering is similar in concept to an initial public offering (IPO), both a process in which companies raise capital, while an ICO is an investment that gives the investor a cryptocoin, more commonly known as a coin or a token in return for investment, which is quite different to the issuance of securities as is the case in an IPO investment. Do you invest in ICO? and has you make money from it?

I am only a bounty participant. I have not been interested in joining and buying tokens from the ICO project. I think it's very risky to buy tokens from the ICO project if the buyer doesn't understand how the ICO project works.

No, I haven't but there are number of ways to make money through ICO's by investing in them and it will go on rising day by day. One day they will give you a huge profit by selling them. For storing your coins you need a wallet and when you can the price is high you can sell it. You can also verify the price of ICO's daily.

I have made something about 500 dollars from investments in some ICOs during last two months. I see that this is quite high result of my first steps in the area of ICO. Further it will be better I believe.

for now I follow some ICO but I still not get the benefits because ICO coin price that I follow is cheaper than ICO price. this is my first ico, to restore my capital then i do the ico coin trading i have.

Choose a right one by checking their white paper and blog before you are going to invest on it. That will make your understand that they will scam you or not after the token sale. I personally did not bought any altcoins or ICO tokens but got some rewards as a tokens.
I have got that and holded yet. I really looking to exchange that coins but the value does not increase the chart from the past 6 months.

So far i only participated in 3 icos, they are salt, neblio and cindicator. So far i make money from salt and neblio and a little down on cindicator. It's hard to make money from ico lately from my observation. Ico is similiar to ipo but i think they shouldn't be greedy and collect as much money as they can. ICO nowdays usually set a very high cap that will make the demand as minimum as possible after the ico and make the price fall, the fact that there's a lot of flippers that want to make quick buck make it worse.

I have never invested in a project run by an ICO because I think this sort of thing is usually in the end we will only get the losses because of the unsuccessfulness of the development of the project and that's what I used to hear for the reasons they mentioned and in the end of course it will be very detrimental to investors who have already invested in a project that is being developed by the ICO whether it is true or not but in the end they will just disappear from the planning of a project that is being developed. I have never participated in investment activities on a project developed by ICOs because I do not want to take risks for losses that I will get. so the least I do to earn an income from a project developed by ICO is to participate in a campaign in exchange for a token that we can later exchange with a coin and I think it's a lucrative activity that does not have too much risk. so to date I'm still hesitant to invest in a project that works with ICO for its development.

Given this saying does not apply to every project. in general you may be right, but really many projects have made very good money three or four months ago. After 0x ico the process wins exactly 8x. if you could have been involved in the blockcat ico process at the beginning, you could exit the project with exactly 3x. The current level is very low, but at first they have earned very good money. the current process is a very bad time to join the ico project. so I definitely do not recommend it now, but once the market stabilizes and then the altcoins re-engage, then it can be considered to join the ico  again. but certainly not now.
