Another thread that refers to a negative story and pretends to be a guide in the experience.

We are not a guiding forum, we are an informative forum and the best thing is to demonstrate with each one of us that you can bet and have a happy ending.

And I'm not saying why we win a big prize or be lucky in betting, on the contrary, losing, staying in the game is essential and is a winner in a certain way, because it explains very well that money management is intrinsic to mental management.

It is absolutely ridiculous to read things from some users; "if this person were in the forum they would have received positive information", no, anyone who suffers from this type of condition should not be in a forum like gambling, they should seek help urgently.

We are a forum for healthy people, who may have gambling problems and long periods of stress, sadness, but are mentally healthy and able to place a bet.

There are people who have other causes, drugs, work, love, etc.  They have a pre-existing condition, depression or any other associated mental illness, in this case the game triggers a situation, but the pre-existing condition is the big culprit.

Is depression a silent killer that causes millions of deaths every year, a long time ago I read that a person hanged himself in an airport bathroom because he missed a flight, it's absolutely incredible, who was to blame?

It is sad that human lives are lost in this way, medical consultations must be promulgated, especially with mental illnesses, we believe that they do not kill, but they do, seek professional help.

There was a time when the Spartans threw weak newborn children off a cliff because they understood the value of the resources and strength invested in a person. This guy was too weak for this world, so he didn't try to solve problems, he just chose the way of the weak man - by committing suicide. Don't feel sorry for such people, because each of us chooses our own path. I had very serious problems at his age, but I did my best and got rid of them. Everyone can do it and there is no need to look for someone to blame. More often than not, we ourselves are to blame for what happens to us.

I hope we all as gamblers learn a thing or two from this, and go back and look at our gambling life and see if there is a thing or two that needs to be adjusted..
I pray non of us, and any of our relative shall ever be a victim of such a sad story 😢😢.
What a pity. Gambling usually starts at an early age due to peer pressure and other societal influences. This is not the first time a student is committing suicide because of this gambling problem. Parents whose kids are kid at home should take the time to monitor them. Just last week a user shared a story of how a father rejected money from his son because he got it through gambling. On the other hand, the government needs to do more with regards to curbing gambling addiction.

Suicide by students because loss of school fees for gambling, arm robering and other social vices are the newly admited problem among university students. Addicted gamblers will not see what happened to the boy as anything, they will even tell that it is a normal thing. Upon all these stories people are still doing it. Well may his soul rest in peace Amen.

That insecticide should be banned it Nigeria, because so many people use it to commit suicide or to kill someone easily. His friends are nice people but they didn't know that Adegoke's gambling activities will be a disaster,if not they would have reported him to his parent. Imagine a heir to the throne just gambled with his life just like that. I was also a victim when I used my tuition fee to gamble and I had an extra semester, which I got over it with time.

Gambling should be seen as fun and not to chase losses,so that you don't become a victim to addiction. Adegoke went to the extend of stealing from his friend just to gamble, this shows how deep his gambling activities has eaten him up because he allows himself to be controlled by his emotion and kept on chasing his loss to his grave. A very hard lesson.May his soul rest in peace.

We are in the 21st century, until when before people realize that suicide does not put an end to problem, but rather create more for those living??

You know, I find ironic that we are living on the 21st century and almost all information and help are posted online, yet people are still determined to continue gambling despite its effects. It is like, everyone knows the effects of gambling and on how it can be destructive yet people still manage to delve deep into this addiction and ultimately causing harm to their lives.

I just find it saddening that people commit suicide over things that are purely monetary. I do think that he was very afraid to know that his school fees were lost and he thought that it is the end of the road for him.

I really hope that this experience brings a lesson to everyone. This should be an eye opener to anyone who thinks of going all-out with their resources as gambling provides devastating results if you use it as a last-resort method.

It's really a shame, this is really one of those sad stories that really tell the dark side of sports betting and gambling in general, I could not help it, but had tears rolling down my cheek while reading this story..

Another future father, a future millionaire maybe, young 22 year old boy with a promising future lost to suicide after losing his school fees, and that of his friend to sport betting due to gambling addiction..

Nothing new on which suicides and other criminal acts or doings would really be the most common option for these people to see that this is the solution into their problem and at the age of 22, i dont really believe that this is really still that a young age for you not to be able to think on whats good and whats bad because we do know that this is already having that sufficient age but well when it comes to addiction on which it wouldnt really be knowing on what age you do have because even oldies or to those matured ones would really be still falling into making up some decisions which arent that even right.

Suicide is never been a solution and its true that you cant really solve out problems by this.Yes if its talking literally but come to mind that your loved ones would be still able to suffer on the amount or money
that you had left out specially if its a loan but this one speaks about school fees on which you could really still make out some explanation into your parents on what you have done.
They would surely be able to understand but of course you should expect about being scolded but its better option than on taking your own life.

It’s what they wanted initially, and it’s what they pursued so it’s entirely their fault. While it may be sad that it has to go to this way ultimately, they wanted it. I’m sure they know that everything will pile up especially if they don’t have any self-control in them. Gambling in itself isn’t destructive, but one’s absence of self-control leads to a lot of damage in gambling. Rest in peace for this bro, though I know that he knew better and just opted to choose overindulging.

Can't be called a dark side of sports betting and gambling in general. The dark side of gambling are technically related to gambling itself, like involvement of mafias, influential individuals wrecking the game, rigged match, syndicates-related crime and something around that tier, and not with the gambler's direct action towards gambling.

I can labeled the story you have shared under those post-gambler's irresponsible act and action and also related to gambling behaviour and mental-health related problems and concerns. A problem that now requires serious approach and if necessary, a professional consultation.

Can't imagine a young mind at 22 years old already experienced being in a tight financial situation. Their ability to handle such stressful problem is still developing at that age. After losing school fees, he might overthink that something really worst will happened and he thinks he can't able to handle it properly.

So sorry to the family of the victim. It is sad to see this.

Some people do not think about the consequences of using high amount of money on gambling, but when they lose the huge amount of money, they will be depressed and some people will feel like killing themselves. He is young, but he supposed to have faced what comes after and change for good. If there is life there is hope.

Supposing he knows about this forum, maybe he would have learned some lessons from what we are posting.
This is the reason why gamblers who can’t even control theirselves should never be gambling at all. Instead of being aware and understanding that gambling naturally comes with losses, they blame theirselves for their losses and when things aren’t bearable already, people will resort into suicidal which is a very wrong mindset. You’re right, if this student might have been exposed on this forum, he might be living and overcoming losses up to these days.

Yes and it will never be. It is kinda sad that thing thing happen to him and I really do hope that it will never happen again hopefully to other people. If anyone of you guys are having a problem you should talk to your loved ones not only to your family but also to those reliable people so that you can both process things and avoid this kind of scenarios in the future.
It's quite sad to hear that, this is too far from what was imagined. I think it's too early for them to get to know gambling at a young age. This is an example of the importance of supervising both parents in everything that is done by their children. Environmental factors are one of the things that greatly influence a child's personality. They are still not old enough to know about gambling, and it will be fatal if no one saves them. For example, in this case, those who are underage have not been able to control themselves and have a great fear of both parents finding out about the mistakes they have made. Therefore, most minors always choose shortcuts to solve them without knowing the risks they will receive.

Please don't talk like that. Depression is not a joke. You can't just tell these people that "hey don't go suicide". That's not how it works.

These people who are under depression are already in the verge of not considering things being advised by others that might saved them. That's why there's a proper way to deal with these depressed people as every word is critical and sensitive. In worst case, those advise might even triggered them to do worst things more as they don't have now the ability to understand what's right or wrong.

I know it's up to us to stand strong but not all has the capability to do that while under pressure.

Back to the story, we don't know the whole story why it triggered the suicide. I'm sure it's not just because of losing school fees.

The kid begged to his friend to call his mother again inorder to ask to keep it to themselves not to involve their pop. It seem to be okay but something is really stirring his mind and drink the poison. It could be the punishment the father may impose on him too much pressure to this 22 yr old guy.

Felt sorry for him. May he rest in peace.

When I read something like this, my heart breaks. It is never easy to lose a wager, but I don't believe that choosing suicide is the best course of action. The youngster may feel that his father will be disappointed in him for having to make a decision like this to gamble with his school expenses. When things go wrong in life, I hope that this will deter others from taking their own lives. I also hope that it will deter them from being too afraid of what other people will think because this has a ripple effect on society. Man up to whatever happens is still the best decision.

What a waste that of a young age he did the unthinkable in which the problem is solvable yet he cause so much pain to those he left. That's why it's really important to teach children how to talk and boost their self esteem, this is a critical values we need to still on our child at a young age to avoid these kind of problems.

People are just realizing that suicide doesn't solve problems if they really want to solve problems, whatever the cost. But sadly, not many people are able to think clearly when they have a problem, including a gambling problem because it is like the end of their life.

This is a sad story that we read and wish we didn't experience it. We really have to be able to take care of ourselves so we don't get addicted to gambling like other people experience. We still have a bright future, as long as we are willing to change and have the determination to change it. I believe we will definitely get help from the people around us especially if we can be honest with them.

That's pretty unfortunate and obviously a sad story. We can't really blame anyone for what has happened to the young man, even for a moment we may think that his parents should have done something since he had done the same thing in the past but I assume they didn't know that he is gambling the money since his friend said that he pleaded not to tell his father about it.

However, this is the reason why no one should gamble with the money they can't afford to lose, and gambling with someone else's money is a completely different story and should never be done at all, the consequences of that can be too harmful as we have seen in this case.

What a pity for the pain that boy will put on his parent. This is what gambling addiction can lead to,when you can't control yourself about your loss and be strong with containing it. It is better that we live to face our regrets or error,so that we can be strong instead of to think that suicide is the  only solution. Gambling is not for weak minds that can easily get controlled by their emotions. This is the reason why you should always gamble with money that you can afford to lose and not money for a necessity. Self-control is the key in whatever that we are doing.

That is the result of gambling addiction, addiction can destroy a person's life quickly. When someone plays gambling, they can easily lose the money they have, especially in large amounts or lose very important money.
and that can cause them to become stressed and frustrated, which can lead to financial problems, family problems, and mental health issues. And what's worse, to suicide because of depression and there are also those who commit crimes and end up in prison.
and I think, with these cases, maybe the gambler keeps his addiction a secret and if his family or friends find out about it. They will definitely help and take precautions and will also always be monitored so that it doesn't become fatal, and it would be very sad if a suicide occurred.

Every gambling site has certain terms and conditions stating that school and college students cannot gamble or anyone under 18+ years of age cannot gamble. But after reading the entire incident, I realized that gambling has some negative aspects which are reflected in this incident. We can console the death of this little year with nothing but one thingToday's 22-year-old is an asset of tomorrow. But how can a wealth drop prematurely only as a result of the negative effects of gambling? But in this day and age it is not at all reasonable to commit suicide by a fresh life just for school fees. I couldn't control the amount of ego a 22-year-old has, so I had to drop out at a young age.
