Maybe the policy for this thread can be changed to delete EVERYTHING that's not DIRECTLY related to Tom's products Smiley
I don't know about the local mining board moderators, but that is global forum policy. Thus, I have and will continue to enforce that whenever I'm around.
I think what Tom ought to do is write out his posts offline, copy them, and paste them two places.  One paste will be here.  The other will be pasted into a new thread titled "btcfpga updates" that would be locked immediately after he makes a new post.
Absolutely. I'm surprised that he hasn't done that already.

This will be my only off-topic post in this thread. Please behave, and remember that more than just the moderators you see are watching.

Does anyone plan on using BAMT to run these ASICs? whats the likelihood it will work out of the box like it does with GPU and most FPGAs?
Yes, cgminer will incorporate the protocol for bASIC and you can update cgminer on the BAMT distribution to include those changes.

Ok great, will BAMT fixer update cgminer, or is it a manual thing?

Totally different question:

Anyone not able to log into bitcoinasic.com with their order email + pass? password reset isnt even finding my email :O

this must be because you use your btcfpga account on bitcoinasic.com. bitcoinasic.com is for future preorders, btcfpga for your existing preorders on the upcoming batch.
maybe you should read on bamt threads about bamt, they even have FAQ and stuff

Thanks, i assumed he had merged the accounts.

I was looking to upgrade my shipping, i assumed $30 would be some decent shipping, what exactly is the service for the standard shipping does anyone know? dont know if its worth $60 for express, when i dont know what the default shipping is for $30 :-)
Tom said it was Priority Mail/Priority Mail International.

At current I'd guesstimate 0%, but it is propably possible to hack something together. We've been waiting for a fpga compatible bamt for a while now, I suppose it could be further along the way when it comes to asic compatability.

It's been there for a long time.

Also, I have a couple technical questions.
1. Will each die have an onboard temperature diode, and if not how will on-die temperature be read?
2. Will the mining software have control of the frequency similarly to the MMQ?
3. Will the POL convertor on the board be adjustable, or will it have a fixed voltage output?
4. Is the board far enough along that you can release details on the mounting holes and clearances for the heatsinks so those of us interested in watercooling can start shopping?
Why would one want watercooling on a device with this low thermal load, what are the benefits appart from longer item "life" ?
...I must be missing something here.
The thermal load on the MMQ is even lower, and your hashrate will change between running at 35C and 45C.

Do you have a plan of the board to show us? I'm guessing that the board will contains mounting holes in each corner. We know the board is 9x4 but what is the height of it with the fans?

Tom, hope you had a good weekend with the family. It's about a month now until we're expecting to ship, do you think you could give a quick update on what the status is of the project and how much of a buffer there is in your first week of December ship date?

Also, you've dropped several hints that the power consumption of the 54GH/s ASIC will be in the ballpark of 100W by posting the one photo (prior to its caption changing) and by claiming a 1000W PSU would run 8-10 54GH/s bASIC units easily. Could you confirm officially the power estimates at this point, or are you still waiting on more information? If not, can you at least confirm you'll be coming in around 100W?

Thanks

Here is a good deal on a platinum rated PSU: http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=65712&vpn=EA%2D650%20Platinum&manufacture=Antec&promoid=1016

That's for the Americans. But the same deal is on the Canadian site  Grin

The more these guys pop up, the more i think to have done the right choose.

Think at what could happen in 2/3 weeks of mining without any competition except these 50Th/s tom is releasing.

PSUs and molex connectors are great, i'm sure, but I for one do not have a pc to use with my bASIC. I will be using a RPi to host it, so molex  and PSUs are out of the question.

I suppose I will wait for you to specify exactly what kind of dc adapter we will need.

Me too I'm not interested in molex stuff.
Tom could you please just specify exactly what kind of dc adapter we will need and make it easy.

Thanks

As far as I know, you can force a PSU to power on by tying 2 pins together on the ATX connector:

http://pinouts.ru/Power/atx_v2_pinout.shtml

Just short PSON to ground permanently.

Or you can buy a ready-made gadget for this purpose:

I also now provide switches for your ATX power supplies if it is not the host system: Can be for modular and non-modular types. Pricing is 1.0BTC each

Oh cheers!  I might have to pick a couple of these up!
