It is a known fact that Knowledge is power. How would a medical doctor would have been able to successfully carry out surgery on a patient, or an Engineer to Build an Estate, all this would not have been possible without a higher education

I say no.
This is from a perspective from the United States and from my situations and experiences...
College in my opinion is now a service industry.
You spend so much money (in most cases obtain a shitload of debt) to go to college and get a piece of paper that says you can do something.
Then you go out in the workforce and cannot find a job in the field you just went in to debt to learn...
Right now it seems that trade industries/jobs are the way to go - make a great salary without needing a college degree...
I see so many people with degrees that do a sub-par job, yet I see people that do not have degrees excel in the same roles.
The system is flawed and backwards. There is a meme that sums it up pretty well...

Of course, today an academic diploma is still one of the most important documents for applying for a job. With increasing competition in the job market, the level of diploma requested is even higher.

I never graduated from secondary schooling because my family believed in that working at a young age was more important for benefiting my family then to earn a education.
I think it really matters on where you are in ones life but it is not needed to be happy and provide for your family.

Do you really need a Degree these days?
If you had to do it all over would you go to college?

Actually, there are many individuals who didn't even have a chance to get in to college but are now successful.

I think the experience to get the degree is more important than the degree itself.

But firstly you should get degree then experience will be counted, if you have no degree then no multinational company give you job, then where you get experience, only one man may be here in out of lack whom made his life without degree and experience wise he is earning money.

This is, unfortunately, the truth when it comes to a lot of fields. It's all about the shiny badge to even get into the door, not about your actual work. It's not necessarily the wrong way of thinking in a lot of cases though, with a degree it's just another thing that "confirms" you've actually done all the work to a certain extent. Without it, there is no way of knowing what you have done / not done. And when given the choice to pick one of the two, they are always going to go with the "certified" applicant. But like I said in my previous post, it's really about the industry you are in. However, if you want to get a higher-up job in any industry, you need higher education. Yea there may be a few Bill Gates' out there, but the odds are terribly slim. Even if you have to go into some debt at an okay college, it will make everything miles easier for you farther down the line.

This is a commonly asked question these days, especially with the rise of entrepreneurs / freelance work. In my personal opinion - It completely depends on the industry. If you plan to be a doctor but don't go to college, you're not going to be a doctor. However, things like programming and business can be pretty easily self-taught and often times don't require any type of degree to get places. I am in college as a computer science major, but I am able to do freelance work right now and make decent money without any official education. You need to find an industry where people are measured based on the final product and not the initial qualifications.

I think the experience to get the degree is more important than the degree itself.
Experience wise but that's not enough I think. What's more valuable is after getting the degree, the experience will be massive and it will teach you more than what you have learned from getting that degree.

As said, it's practical to get higher education but getting a degree doesn't define ones success.

Well education is a stepping stone to be successful in life, that's your key to reach your dreams. But its not the only way to succeed, as long as you are striving and determine then anything is possible through hardwork even you're not a degree holder.

If you had to do it all over would you go to college?
If given a chance yes, its an accomplishment that no one can steal.

Yes you are right but we should consider that almost every top students didn't have that good work now. It is the skills and strategy in life is the most important here and that's what matters. Higher education is important but the strategy in life is the most important part of your life.

Yes, Yes. Actually, it is an underlying problem, like IQ vs. EQ right. The smart brain only can't make your success in this life. You have to master the skill of communication and marketing. On the other hand, I've been in a situation where people kind of tolerate a nervous nerd; they respect him because of his intelligence. In fact, they see him as unique.
IMO, higher education, which is narrow your knowledge, is suitable if you want to specialize. It is necessary and can be benefits to open many opportunities. After all, a graduate degree is joint these days. So if you don't have one, you may lose in the job market.

the higher education is everything without this knowledge you don't carry forward your own intelligence into a different dimension for increasing your brain power then you definitely need to study lot more in higher education that's why I am saying this is one of the important training that you need to have in your life.

everyone needs to know something there is no connection between Intelligence and their education if you are intelligent you don't need to educate but if you want to live in this world the world demands education that's why it will be important for everyone otherwise I don't think higher education is the only important thing to live your life.
Yeah right since even those people from mountain sides still seeking for education, they wanna learn even that they already have skills to bring family to life yet they are not contented so what more people like us whose living in this new age world to learn more and to adopt with the demand of community

Skill is crazy important to have, especially now a days. A higher education is just to get your foot in the door of certain places of employment. Most of what you can learn in college, you can learn on YouTube. To be fair, there are some things you can learn only in a classroom if you're able to get a hands on experience. The great thing about college is you can make connections with people that have connections.

I live away from the USA so having a degree is crazy important if you want to work.
