Cryptogenic Bullion (CGB), 6/28/2013
   Encryption type:  scrypt
   60 second block time
   Difficulty retarget: 2 minutes
   Supply 1/2 every ~37 days
   Total supply ~1million

CGB vs. LTC:   60 second block CGB vs. 150 second block LTC --> While this would seem as an improvement over Litecoin (given that 1 minute block time leads to faster transaction/confirmation time), it doesn't offer anything new in the alt-coin world.  WDC has 30 second block times (even better).

CGB vs. BTC:  ~1 million total supply CGB vs. ~21 million total supply BTC --> The developers tout this as possibly making CGB more valuable than BTC. (link) Such a claim is absurd:  it shows the CGB developers' failure to recognize that BTC is almost infinitely divisible (all the way down to .00000001), are ignorant of economics and monetary theory, or are aware of this and are being disingenuous with the alt community.

Summary:  CGB doesn't offer anything special to the alt-coin scene that doesn't already exist.

CoinOp.me CGB evaluation:  Not worthy of investment.

Lmao! Not worth a financial investment you mean??? Seems you invested some time in creating a trolling account specifically for this purpose. Have you looked into Proof of Stake and plans for MADEsparq? Thanks for stopping by.

P.S. Your half assed, selective research and unwanted, biased opinions offer nothing special to the alt-coin scene.

is there a place where I could print CGBs already? I would like to give out a few as x-mas gifts to my co-workers. They all seem amazed with crypto, so thought some CGB would be a nice gift Smiley

anyone?

I am working on creating fancy paper wallets for CGB but unfortunately will not be ready for the holiday season. However, here is a quick step by step guide which can be used to generate your own paper wallet(s):

1.  Move your wallet.dat file from the %appdata% CryptogenicBullion folder to your desktop

2.  Start you client and a new wallet.dat will be created with a new address

3.  Copy the address and in the console type the command where "address" is the newly generated one

4.  Copy the address and the privkey to a text file

5.  Close client and remove the wallet.dat and replace with your old wallet.dat that is on your desktop (note the wallet.dat you are removing is for the newly created address with the privkey. This will be the address and privkey you use for your paper wallet so go ahead and delete it after you have the address and the privkey. (BE CAREFUL NOT TO CONFUSE WITH YOUR WALLET.DAT AS YOU WILL LOSE YOUR COINS IF YOU DELETE THE WRONG ONE!)

6.  Now you can send your CGB to the new address (paper wallet)

7.  Once coins have been sent to the new address, you can test the redemption process. Close your client.

8.  Remove the wallet.dat file from the CryptogenicBullion data folder and save it in another folder (make sure your client is closed)

9.  Now restart your client and a new wallet.dat file should be created.  Your balance will be zero and there will only be one address in your receive list of addresses.  None in your address book.

10.  Go to console and enter where privkey is the first privkey you created in step 3.  Note, this is the privkey that will be used for redemption.  This is the process the client must complete in order to redeem coins.

11.  When your client has scanned the blockchain, you'll notice your balance has updated to the amount of CGB you sent it in step 6.  If you restart your client, you'll see the new address you just imported will move from the address book to your receive list of addresses.

Done.

Getting error from wallet:
"WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Wait for block chain to download, or notify developers."

Close client and delete everything in your data folder (for Windows it's AppData/Roaming/CryptogenicBullion) except your wallet.dat and your config file.  Then restart your computer and run your client.  It should download the block chain from start and the message should be gone.  PM me if need more help.

Here poured poured so
4 thousand sold

Yea watched it happen a 5k dump came in just as CB was on the rise. Like I've said before Cryptsy is pushing folks over the edge. They doing irrational things with their coins. I've noticed when things are running smooth on there prices rise, and when things go tits up, people dump out of frustration. Anyway it was a nice catch for the fisherman who baited his hook with those juicy wriggling Bitcoins. Nice choice of lure my fellow friend whoever you are.

At one point yesterday I wanted to throw my keyboard across the room out of frustration because of coins disappearing from canceling orders.  But it seems Cryptsy is bouncing back quicker now.  The audit accounts option was a nice move.
I left a part of CGB  on crypsty precisely in order to avoid losing them in case of problems with the stock exchange. Need to keep a long position. This is the only option normally earn.
