It is good to hold your coins now and wait to pump than to regret in the future. I think this year is a good year to hold and have a great value.
I stick, it's better we are holding bitcoin because the price will go up again and that is almost guaranteed because we can see from the past history prices that the bitcoin market is going down but after a few months, it is going up again for new all time highs and the only difference from the price right now is only a few and we just need to have a lot of patience.
This year the hold does not work at all. maybe if now buy and forget for a few years then yes. but taking into account the fact that these money do not touch at all. and then the situation in life is different and tomorrow may be needed. I this year, immediately merge. although there are a couple of coins that are a pity to merge now but 80% immediately sell

The pain of regret as a result of not holding as oppose to losing is more painful and grave. I will rather hold and lose than to sell early and miss out on opportunity to make great wealth. I have seen this type of situation way too many in cryptocurrency.
I'm really disappointed with myself now because of Verge. Way back June 2017, I bought $200 worth of XVG and I sold it last week a day before the pump happened. It could be worth more than $5k now if I just HODL. 
Well, I need to move on and learn from this mistakes. This will be a lesson for me to have patience and wait for the right time to sell my coins. The reason why I sold it was because I need more funds to buy another coin. I'm happy with the coin I bought because I can now see that it is now starting to pump. Maybe, I'm just half disappointed every time I'm seeing the current value of Verge. I bought some XVG again and will surely hold it this time. 
I hope that this experience of mine can be a good example for everyone especially the newbies in this community.

forget about the past, look forward and try to change everything about yourself now, if you didnt able to hold for a long time before, then try to become more patient now. if you see any potential to your holdings, hold it still, until its price will pump. This tactic of HODL is now the most correct and optimal. You can also trade on crypto exchanges or wait much time for some profit.
I also experience what most of you experience. I have some coins... and I regret not selling when the price is high, and when I wait for the market to recover again... But never happened, for now it is too late for me to cutting losses, all I can do is hold and wait patiently... 
I think that the best thing that anyone could do for themselves at this point is to Hodl their coins and not sell. I know that it might not really be an easy thing for so many, as they might be scared or worried, but it really is the best thing to do at this point. Soon all of this will be over and we will see some bullish trend once more, but if you sell your coins now, you will miss out on that.
It is better to hodl your coin than to realize your loss. Trading takes time and if you don't have patience, probably you won't earn money.
I agree, it's better to hold than losing everything. And it would really take some time to decide wether to hold or sell it, imagine how much it hurts but we know and we believe that someday everything will be okay.
you have a strange reason because during strong hold you also can lose everything. For example, the centrabet had a good price for the coin, and then it scammed and the price now is around zero. How did the holding help not to lose money?

one lesson you've experienced so you're always careful. my advice to you is to know the trading strategy so you do not lose money and you always keep in mind the market so you know when to invest in the market.
Crypto market is on bottom. I don't make any sense in selling coins at the lowest prices. I will keep hodling.
Sometimes you have to sell coins at the most inopportune moment. Sometimes there are circumstances of force majeure that force us to do this.
Holding is not easy as you think. When times like these when the prices are so low you started to panic and fear that the price won't go up again. Those with less experience and weak hearted will fall for their fear and sell there holdings which result to regrets when the price goes up again.
