This is quite a normal situation, the same thing happens with ordinary companies. The most important goal is to find a project that will not close and will develop for many years and will bring its investors a large profit.

You are right, certainly right and can't be disputed; many of these altcoins are no where to be found and the worst is that, many are also getting worthless with each passing day. Holding is good actually, but holding coins without carrying out a little study to know if it's worth it or not is totally bad. Also, you made striking point and that is, most people hold or trade with emotion and it has done more harm than good to them. In addition, most people also hold because someone told them to, but the person won't be quick to tell them when to sell. Holding most altcoins nowadays is bad, we should all endeavour to be careful and know when to let go.

I agree! Most especially the shitcoins which can reduce your thousands of dollars to hundreds in minutes. More so, over 70 percent of top 100 coins on coinmarketcap have tanked from its ico price at the moment. Now imagine of you are a holder which bought during ICO.

Despite the fact that the altcoin market is highly manipulated I still dont believe that holding altcoin can get ones rekt because the last time I checked all altcoin doesn't have the same concept, potentials, trade volume, and innovation. Besides, the only thing that can make ones rekt is not knowing the right features to look out for before selecting an altcoin.

I still think that few altcoins are good for investing. The wrong insight of many altcoin investors is that the coin that they recently bought is going to the moon without thinking that the coin they've just invested isn't really good because they didn't research about it.
And by thinking that price would be as like as bitcoin is very wrong, consider the supply of that token and other things like volume, developers and usecase.

Of course holding non sense coins/tokens will make you lose and get "rekt" sometimes. Just go to any cryptocurrency exchange and look at the amount of the shitcoins being traded there, peoples still believe in "Buy wait sell" way, it's old i think. That doesn't mean that it doesn't work ... it does work but you must be lucky and you must at least have some knowledge. Don't just buy 100 Btc and invest them in a coin that you felt like it will fly, lol, you'll get rekt. Instead, be wise and take a look on the graphs/roadmaps.

true dat is why i only holding top 10 altcoins like ltc eth xrp bnb doge and more i hold these coins bcos its more safety compared by other new altcoins if you hold a new altcoins you prepare to get rekt because new altcoins can get rekt easily

I don't like the idea at all, holding altcoins will get you rekt if you pick some shitcoins but if you deeply research about the projects that have usecases that will benefit in the long run then I must say that it will not get you rekt. Imagine if you hold top altcoins when they are just starting up. Imagine you are holding ETH,EOS and NEO in they're early days, too much profit on your side.

Now is 2019, altcoins now has a big difference compared to 2016 from that time up to now there are new potential coins that has been added in the market already. And I feel you also, but not all altcoins are shit, especially now if you are going to search it first will find out and discover if that coins is potential or not. Moreover, if you are going to hold a coin for a years I suggest you to hold Ethereum, Bitcoin, Xem, Eos, Waves. Never hold an altcoin that has no good volume and don't have any promising in the future.

Not all altcoin is shitcoin. So you need choose wisely to invest your money on it. Do with your own research. There are still many projects that are serious about building projects and dedicating themselves to achieving their goals. Abandoned projects are if the project does not develop at all. So all projects must be transparent about the progress they are working on to inform investors and their communities.

Trading with emotion can be your one-way ticket to getting rekt. HODLing can sometimes be good but it's always a good idea to put a stop-loss and take-profit on investment.

Holding altcoins for a long time is not a good idea anymore. Invest in the early phase, if you get enough profit to sell them and buy Bitcoin. Most of the altcoins have no future at all because they have no use cases! Though we have some great altcoins like NEO, BNB, XLM, LTC and some others but we have to be aware of new altcoin investing!

No need to go back far away from 2017. If you invested on right altcoins at the beginning of 2017, you could get your financial freedom at the end of 2017.
In a year you could win more than you need in your entire life.

both bitcoin and altcoin, I think it's the same in reacting to it, but altcoin has bigger fluctuations and smaller market capitalization than bitcoin, so if we can take advantage of opportunities, I think we will win. and of course it requires a more thorough analysis

The logic is not good. So this means that if you hold bitcoin, it can get you rekt? No. This is not it. I remember hodling ADA and somehow it bloomed and made me good profit. Made me 800 dollars that time. Did that made me rekt?? I just included btc on my statement since it has the same risk as investing in altcoins.

That's why, it's wise being wise in trading crypto.

That's right, I'm regret because there are too many hold altcoins and many have died because they prove to be a scam, for the long term surely hold top 25 is the best choice.

Even holding the top 25 altcoins in the market is not a guaranteed investment. Most of the altcoins that are going into that ranking is based on hype and you should not follow the hype because most of the time, when the hype is over then the price of the altcoin will start to go down. It is better if you will invest some time to investigate and do some research to check if the altcoin is worth it to hold for long term investment.
