You are going to lose a lot if you hold onto shit coin. Out of the three, only insane is aa bit decent but there's still a lot of coins that's better to hold. You also have to consider your entry price when holding, don't just keep holding if the price already below your entry price, always remember to cut your losses and buyback lower.

In my opinion, Holding on to it is not necessary and will only produce anything, The idea of finding something depends on what you hold. You will do some research on the coins before deciding to get out and by doing that you will know if the coins you keep are still worth keeping.

I do trust holding my assets, given that my coins aren't something like what your holding.
The coins your holding don't have any real world applications and/or they have only that it is not as efficient as others.
Marketing strategy is important and so dev team is vital key to the success.
Having said that, we should be careful as to what coins to hold. there are many coins that have high potential to succeed.

Actually, just the wrong way you decide in choosing to hold the coin, if you hold the right coin surely you will get a big advantage. Just think if you have held the ethereum for the last three years, you must be a millionaire now.

Holding is not BS. If you want to have a long term hold/investment you have to be careful in choosing which is which. Wise decision, do a research so that you can have the most out of it. And if that decision will not work,  sell that coin and switch to another.  You need to strategize to ensure a lot of profit. Go with altcoins that has a good roadmap and unique to other if they have the same project/concept and lastly do a backround check to the devs (achievements or previous work).

The coins you are holding is not worth for a long term holding. Make sure to check first if the coin has a potential for holding in a long time period. You need to ask yourself question before you decide to hold the coin. Is the feature of the coin worth holding for so many years? Is the team behind the coin is working until now so that the coin value will rise? There are so many factors that will affect the coins value. If the features is just the same with other coins that is already well known the possibility that the value will dump is higher. So I advise is to read every details of the coin before you hold them.

Holding coins for long periods is not  a easy thing.but if u hold a right coin y will be in moon at the time.every this has its upsides and downsides

There is always a risk in crypto. To avoid losses, you should always check your coins. Old coins can also be very good profits. If you buy coins with a strong project it will bring you an advantage in a few years

I am agree with you, but we should spend time to get more information about new projects with interesting and possible (!!!) ideas to get coins in the first wave.

I think the "Hodling" technique is not the main problem because you can see that it works on some coins especially to the famous ones like bitcoin and ethereum. I think the cause of your upset is not good coin selection, you should first analyze its potentials before investing in. Well, I can't blame you because you are not a fortune teller who could predict the future and besides, losses are simply hard to escape.

Better luck next time sir and I hope you'll become successful by that time. Smiley

It's not the idea or principle of holding that is the problem in your case. It's what you are holding. Many will testify that they have earned huge due to holding. That's because they made a good investment. Meaning, they were vigilant in choosing their coins. For those who haven't made any profit from their holdings, as in your case, probably they based their decisions from hear says or unreliable sources. See, we tend to blame others or things for our misfortunes or failures. But we fail to realize that whatever others would say or whatever things or circumstances dictates us to do, it will always fall to us making that final decision. And so whether we succeed or fail, the credit or blame will always be on us...

It's your perception. It's true and right to you. For most others who hold good bags, it's a wonderful experience. Try out good projects

It would greatly depend on the types of currency you hold on, but if the coins your holding is having a constant development then great, it pays off in due time., it needs patience. but i were you, better hold on to the bitcoins and ethereum, there you can have future with it. Thanks

The problem is you haven't invested in good projects (and anyway small altcoins are always a risky way to invest: you can have high returns on your money, but also lose everything...). Having said that, in my opinion, in Cryptos investments, the best strategy that worked in the last years is to hold until the price goes higher  Wink

Just choose the right coin and hodl till the right time comes.
There's a lot sh**y coins but there are some real nice ones. Maybe not today, but in a few years or how I say - after completion of roadmap goals.
I am glad one of my portfolio coins announced today that they will be giving away equity shares (in total 20%) of their IPO later this year to long term coin holders.
Now that is incentive for me to hodl this coin and I am pretty calm with it as IPOs are better regulated than ICOs which also means company is pretty strong and confident with their product.

Do you mean Lympo token?
This is the only article I could find on a reputable website:

Holding and trading are both good strategies. Depends on what to start. HODL for me the interesting thing, if you had studied the project studied the team and its purpose, while you like the product. Then you can buy as a long-term investment, but it is always better to know when the beta tests will take place, launches, conferences, etc., to know at what point the token has a chance to grow in price

In my opinion holding is the best strategy if you are not good at analysis. And it is important to buy a coin on deep side and early times. If you buy a coin when it break its ATH it is risky. Also it is better to take profit and hodl 50% of your portfolio.

Holding is not Bullshit at all, it all depends on the coins you chose to hold, most coins might not survive for long as they have poor project layout, holding such coins will come to no good at all as they might fail and fade in the long run, hold the right coin and you stand a chance to reap big

We have several coins that we plan to hold (HODL) long term like ADA, XRP, BTC, LTC, BCC (BCH), DASH, NEM, NEO and XLM. Other coins we buy and sell back into BTC trying to grow our BTC amount. My advice - dont sell too quickly. Wait for a week or two for the coin to swing up, as the market goes in swings
