I agree with @CryptopreneurBrainboss and @Rengga Jati opinions. Abiky's contributions to altcoin discussion are always appreciated. It is like he is always trying to be the most useful for us. It would be more accurate to share his profile link, but the rule is rule: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.53372327

Scams are one of the highest challenges facing Cryptocurrencies especially HYIPs and Ponzi schemes but it's a sad fact to note that people still fall victims of this almost on a daily basis.

This is a post that has personally helped me because not only is the main post itself educative, the comments are also quite educative and would help a lot of people identify and avoid scams.

I have many favorite topics, even this thread also in my favorite list now as you are welcoming people by gathering good altcoin topics. You are the best guy in the altcoin section, you visit most of the threads, read most of the replies and whenever you see a good topic or replies, you give merits. I haven't seen anyone like you do this. Hats off to you.

I would say this one caught my eye.

Grin Coin : Not just a new currency in the list.. That time I never heard of Grin whatsoever, and I was surprised that Theymos himself love it.

I'm super excited about grin. All past altcoins have been just Bitcoin with a few bits tacked on; occasionally these extra bits are useful/interesting (eg. Monero or Ethereum), but in the vast majority of cases this extra stuff is just meaningless marketing-oriented garbage. But grin is packed full of useful innovation from top to bottom; moreover, it's clearly built in the same cypherpunk spirit that Bitcoin was: increased freedom/sovereignty through technology.

So it was really a eye opener early in 2019, so I did my own investigation of Grin myself and had tried to support this coin and thanks to that thread.

You give us other stable coins out there besides Tether. But what surprises me is that people still believed and like Tether besides many accusations against them, specially about the Bitfinex Allegedly Covers $850 million loss with Tether funds. So the people behind are very shady, investors should use their common sense. But for those who love stable coins, I would suggest they use or try others based on the post by @dkbit98 and see how it goes for you.

The useful thread in my opinion thus far it is https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/dont-compromise-your-safety-on-forked-coins-5160191 the explanation is simple but you'll get its affect and you'll remember that is very important. That's in my perspective only who didn't know it before.

I came across lots of posts on this section that were extremely helpful and can't dig them all up at the moment, this reply was succinct and described the situation of the altcoin market since the bubble in the altcoin/ICO market burst.
Also this reply, as well as the original thread, it highlighted that an altcoin may actually be the currency of the future despite the situation of the market. I believe a revolutionary develop would eventually design a technology that well fully utilize the blockchain technology.

Winding down.
This thread : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.53127379

This is only an experience by a certain user but it's pretty much the same as my experience too.
I am holding a lot of coins until now that are almost worthless, the reply in that thread help me to be more patient and believe that there's a time for the market to recover again and I'll be able to recover on my loses also.

At this time where our expectation is not happening, we need some motivation from different people and I'm glad I read that in that thread.

Topics created by tk808, cryptopreneurbrainboss, and abiky seems to stand out here but I'm going to pick this topic https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/icos-2019-a-year-of-success-or-failure-5178553 It's not a guide or tip but the OP asked some good questions about ICOs that made the thread lively and interesting to read for me. It's always nice to read good comments even if they agree or not. Credit also to the OP for not abandoning his own thread.

This topic is good for beginners but I don't think this qualifies under rule 2. It's not altcoin, bitcoin, or cryptocurrency market related.

2) Has to pertain to altcoins only, if it's a broader piece about Bitcoin and the markets, these are valid as well

This topic provides motivation for beginners who just joined the bitcointalk forum, and made a very extraordinary effort in increasing account rankings from Newbie to Senior Member.
From Newbie To Senior Member & Now OTW to Hero Member
From this post we can learn, the achievement system applied by the forum, does not become a barrier to increase the rank of bitcointalk who is still a newbie.
And in my opinion this topic is very feasible to get merit.

Thanks Drai, you're paid many complements to me and flattered me quite a bit. I did give some merit to Cryptoneur for another post (since you can't merit in that section). He's definitely been on the rise with activity and has been leading several discussions that interest me as well.
You have also been an inspiration to me and I aim to be like him someday in this forum although offline pursuits has not given me the chance to be as active here, but I do appreciate what guys like you are doing here because Bitcointalk forum is definitely one of the backbone of Cryptocurrencies and without it, many people who are in the Cryptocurrency space and are enthusiastic about this futuristic technology wouldn't even know of it's existence.

I would like to share one of your topics which was much interesting read to me- Binance is Becoming a Crypto Monopoly
& recently Binance had blocked withdraw to Wasabi Wallet which I guess a point to be noted according to your thread.
The thread didn't help me much but it was the most interesting read I had in altcoin section till now.

There have been so many topics, and it will always be difficult to pick a few of them, @tk808, even before I get to the links, I want to specifically thank you for your efforts in this section(altcoin discussion), as well as that of @Cryptopreneurbrainboss, you two have done a wonderful job this year, and I hope it continues.

The first thread helped me to learn alot about altcoins, bitcoin and cryptocurrency, I loved the way the questions asked was answered.
This next thread was helpful because it was a means to award merits to those who are making good posts in this section, it is really a good initiative.

One of the very few topics that is dedicated to a specific altcoin. Not only it's informative, it's also one of the most maintained thread here unlike those posted by throwaway shill/hired accounts. I don't know why the OP hasn't posted on it since October but credits to him.

Thanks to @tk808 and @CryptopreneurBrainboss, I will try to find a proper member, especially members from Indonesia.

Thank you @tk808 for this initiative and season greetings to you. Also thank you @Drai for the acknowledgement, you just made my day. Supposedly I wasn't out of smerits, i would had supported this thread with more than i just sent. Already spent about 100+ smerit meriting contributors of the altcoin subsection and users that helped me locate the post via the thread; No rank barrier | 100+ smerit monthly giveaway | Concentrating on alt subboard and hopefully I'll continue this act for months to come.

Without hesitation i would highlighted @tk808 as the most influential post creator that was valuable to me this year with his masterpiece; A 2019 Critical Crypto Overview but since he can't merit himself I'll give the honor to @Abiky who's another notable positive contributor to the alternative boards. Just view his created topics and you'll agree with me. i find most of his topic interesting and valuable, so here's an entry: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/governments-against-privacy-oriented-cryptocurrencies-5162157

This post gave a lot of advise on newbies here that lurking on this section well it impacted a lot on me.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.52735387

The topic entails how users should not only give attention to the price of the new project cause it's only natural that price could go up and down but most importantly the investors should also look on their real stance on market have they done showing their product? any use cases? How's the tech is it helpful or just another copycat project of the previous one which only add burden on our marketcap? I think many of crypto users now are more on trading than appreciating what is the new tech that is cool and probably can be like huge project such as eth.

By the way, My new campaign on signature which really cool objective is about tech and no price yet since I believe they can pull off this new exciting platform soon. Ops, Is this by any chance one of youre project handle as advisor? Seeing you as admin there is quite reassuring and boosting my confidence to pick this new project.

Anyway, I like youre spree merit for looking on quality posts here on this section.

Always having a great job @tk808 as monitoring and looking out for this section. Happy holiday men.

Tk808 you're one of the best people in this forum and I have never mentioned it before, one of the best posts I have seen this year is this post below, a post by a veteran who volunteered his time and wisdom to anybody who would just ask and I want to take out this time to really appreciate what you have been doing in this forum, from taking out your time to perform a selfless service to the forum as a whole, but also to selflessly help other people. This is the link to the post I have found most valuable this year: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.52653231

Another person I love his posts as well is CryptoneurBrainBoss and the link below is one of my favourite posts by him, although it was already merited by you: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/advantages-of-engaging-in-quality-contributions-on-the-forum-5137241

I could go on and on about it about posts that has had an impact on me this year but I would stop it here for now.

The year is coming to a close and we're shifting into a new decade. I want to award merits to those whom seldomly get awarded merits for their extraordinary efforts or opinions that had an impact on you.

Therefore, if you found a particular post this year that has helped you in anyway, feel free to post the link in this thread and let us know why it has helped you (2+ sentences). I (and probably others) will be meriting of these gem posts, that you found exquisite and that have gotten buried in this highly active forum board.

Again, this is about giving back and acknowledging specific individuals that have helped you; meaning, do not post your own posts/threads.
