Hi,

I see lots of abandoned crypto projects with potential and lets say I am interested in one of them and want to keep the devlopment going. What should I do to achieve that?
Do I need to talk to the creators of the project?

Looking for some insight on it.

Thanks
Why you want to revived a project that was already dead? You think will believe on the project even if you already revived it? It has a bad impression to all the investor so I will advice that don't revived a project that was already dead just create a new project if you want to have a project it was good to start a new than to revived the dead one.

It was quite painful when we saw the potential of the project but it turned out that the team was just crap and wanted to find money quickly and leave. It's hard to return it, talking to them is a waste of time because only a few will listen to the input. It's better to look for other projects that are better
Talking to the team will not work. Although old ideas won't work with the new world, most of the time. By investing or becoming a member of a projects team could be work. Dead altcoins means there are some mistakes, probably you know it. I'm against old projects and copying ideas. Make your own project or you can take experience from your favorite projects.

That's a risky gamble because for a coin to be as good as dead, then it has lost its traction or probably ran into some problems like exit scam. There are many of them, so before you venture into that, ensure it doesn't have any red flag on financial misappropriation. And for you to pull that off, you definitely have to rebrand the project, get some good backings, create buzz about it, develop innovative products or give it new use cases that will convince new investors. This will definitely cost you a lot of money and time.

So the best advice I can give is if you have the resources and technical know-how on developing blockchain-based projects, why don't you build yours rather than wasting money buying a dead project which may not resurrect again?

Just my opinion!

to be able to see that the project has potential or not is very difficult but maybe there are still some ways that can help you with the way you should be able to participate in coin offers at a trusted exchange place such as binance, because a trusted exchange place can be used as collateral for you.

I wouldn't suggest you to try to revive a coin. If you like the idea of a project, is better to invest your resources in developing the idea with a new face instead of trying to revive something that has already a bad taste for many people, and if it wasn't a popular coin, what's even the point to revive something that wasn't good to begin with.

Well, basing on the many experiences by people who invest in projects in the past, it is best to create a new coin and create a new project instead of reviving an old one. For all practical purposes it is a waste of time and people who have invested on a failed project will not forget their experiences and may try to sabotage it by spreading news of their experience with the old coin. So technically yes you can speak to the owner of the project and revive it, but no, don't do it. It will just waste the money that should have been used at more productive NEW projects.

Once a man, twice a child!
So the conclusion is basically the same: you will have to come up with a brilliant idea, not just programming skills.
Basically, (no pun intended) if the OP can look into creating gaming app around the dead coin, online payment options, build work and earn tasks (like ETN is doing) on its wallet app, then I think it should attract investors. Otherwise, doing moribund stuff all in the name of programming will not make a difference in reviving the project.

Don't bother to, it's a waste of time, investors will still remember a project that was once dead, there won't be any demand for such project without getting investors worry, and some projects failed due to exit scam or pump and dump, it's wise to start building your own Project

First, check if the previous owner is still active and if he will let you take over the project for some stake in the project. If he doesn't agree then you can always fork the project but that's a bit risky IMO.

Nothing lasts forever
Lets keep things straight. If you are able to continue development of a dead project this means that also have the ability to create a new project yourself.
Now lets consider that you are trying to start a dead project, you will first have to find why the project was dead.

The project would have been dead either because it didn't receive good response from the investors or the project team would not have been able to develop the project. In both cases the chances are slim that the restarted project would get good response from the community because investors generally don't look back on projects which they have ignored, they always want something new.

It's a high risk, friend, the death of the project, of course there are problems that occur in it that cannot be solved by the previous developer. it's good to form a new team that is experienced and form a new project rather than having to evoke something that has been dumped.

Yes, but don't do it.Why you really want to bring value to a dead project? Its just the waste of time and money in my opinion. If you are a part of that project then you have to do it or just don't.

Some think its a bad step to revive dead project, I dont feel the same. Most of the project came with a good idea but bad process. Have seen a lot of revive eg internet of coin now Hybrix. You can start with slight change of name and team followed by great advert. You can also try small funding by investors but I think token management will be important and exchange listing will help traction.

In my opinion, rather than taking over a dead project, usually money from the sale of tokens is no longer left, it's better to make a new project and create new tokens or coins. The money from the sale of the new token can be used as capital to start a new one with a more experienced team

A project that's dead or turn shit means it's reputation is ruined, reviving such project won't do you any good, you are only wasting your precious time, better work on something that will give you good reputation, many have tried this before and nothing came out of it

It's useless to that if the project scam a lot of people then you will also have a bad reputation but why not do a fresh start and then just adopt the idea, or do a fork so many people are doing that, I have not known any dead project that comes back, so don't be the first one.

it would really be challenging on your part even if you have the marketing expertise.

its about building reputation that matters a lot in crypto and if that had been broken in the past, it would be hard to piece together the community abandoned. its easy to just create one and do the campaign to have a community of your own again. i haven't really seen a project come to life again after being dead.

The only truth is that, you will only end up lossing your money. I think the questions you should be asking yourself before coming up with this idea is, If truly it is a potential project why aren't the team working on it but giving up? Why did they exit scam? Why is the token price seriously down? The answer to these questions will make you understand that, they aren't potential projects and the team only did what they had to do so as to lay hands on money. My humble suggestion is, forget about this idea because you will likely regret it but instead go and invest in Bitcoin.

You can do it but will not be easy since the hardest thing is able to communicate the right person in charge of the dead coin and convince them to allow you to take over their coin. Even then, I think you shouldn't do it because there are all kinds of problems from a dead coin to sort out before moving on to continue to develop it.
It will never help the coin since when the coin has become a dead coin especially for the exit scam coin and it's impossible for a new developer to revive the coin or build the reputation for such coin again.
I never saw any successful new developers revive the dead coin and most of these coins were dead and it will never come back again.
