4 hours time spent to post in normal forums?

that's the strangest hoop i've seen someone make users jump through on forums.
i guess if it works cool. but honestly it feels like a somewhat large inconvenience.
got to be a better way to stop bots.

i needed help from a vendor, and waiting 4 hours would defeat the purpose.
just sharing my thoughts as a first time user here.

Look at the bright side -- you've posted once and now, you're done. (if it ever comes up again....)

Is that 4 hours in one sitting or 4 hours over a period of time whenever I'm browsing here? Is there a way to see how much time I've spent in this newbie section? I've spent a lot of time reading other threads but I guess it wouldn't count towards my freedom...

Well, Hi everyone. I'm a newbie and have a tons of questions that can't wait. Yes, I will search before asking.

you have to post in the newbie section for so many post and browse here for 4 hours before getting access to post

Thats retarded.  Just ban dipshits and you wont need to make people with legitimate concerns that want to post jump through hoops.

First time poster, long time reader.

Yes, I am slow and didn't get how this worked at first.
Yes, this will impact my future endeavors and the technical trust it will engender (ha!)
BUT, at least you know I am honest, and I won't give up.

Peace and Love.

More forums should implement the newbie rule! This is kind of interesting...

The other newbie chat thread is slower than I wish. Gotta respect the anti spam policies.

This rule is kinda both bad and good.. The good part is that it will for sure slow down the spammers/trollers. But I'm unsure if it's worth losing real users that only come here to make one fast simple post.

I agree about the spammers too. But I'm really stucked here needing to write anything but not constructive posts to achieve this rule and start what I really came here to do that is participate and create connections with people.

So you were happy on your post.
