One post here and 4 hours of activity on forum is what you need before you are able to post messages in the forum. I hope my laptop battery will not drain before that Grin

Indeed I had the same issue, but I guess at least I managed to get it worked out in a day.  Purely by chance though so no flaming please!  I saw the newbie listing and then by chance happened to see the heading "why can't I post".  This was after spending hours yesterday wondering why I couldn't put in a reply to another post.  Argh.  I obviously need to drink more vodka to improve my brain function.

And Killdemon - it is the first time I have heard of DGC.  I'll have to check it out.

Also profitability index of BTC for DigitalCoin is good since first day. You should check out  Wink

I am amazed also with concept of free bank of DGC.
More than great idea from DGC developers.
For all the newbies, like me, check on https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.2529906
This is very unique way to protect your investment in DGC.
Another reason to start mine DGC.

Yeah have to say I was a bit confused. Been reading for a long time, registered for a fair while, but never felt the need (or expertise) to post. Now want to jump on a group buy so I need to have a post in here. Well here it is I suppose Wink

I have around 7500 khash of mining power and i am mining DGC for almost 2 weeks. It looks to me that this ALT coin have a good potential.

Probably not meaningful post #4:  One thing I realized the other day is that the value of bitcoin mining is not tightly coupled to the USD exchange rate.  What I mean by this is that the mining 'competition', increases or decreases relative to the reward, but as that reward diminishes, those with the weakest hashing rates are the first to stop mining, leaving more of the pot for the rest of us, thereby keeping the profit stable.  Likewise, as the exchange rate of Bitcoins increases, more miners come online, diluting the value of our mining rewards, and thus again keeping the profit stable.  A real-world example.  If the exchange rate is $100 USD/bitcoin and you are making $4/day with your mining rig, then if it drops to $80 USD, lots of people will stop mining, and your reward will still be $4/day.  If the price goes up to $120, more people will mine, diluting your reward, and you'll still make $4/day.  I've noticed this trend when I mine on P2Pool.  It was 1TH a few weeks ago and I was pulling $4/day.  Now it's barely over 500 GH (half!), and I'm still making $4/day (with huge variability I might add, but it all works out in the end).

45 mins to go

Meaningful post #3:  Seriously, there is no freakin' way that the company (not named) can produce a magic box that produce 6GH/s for $250.  It defies Moore's law, it defies physics, it defies common sense!  It's easy to prove too, just turn the situation around:  Imagine if you owned a company that can make machines that prints legitimate cash.  How much would you sell it for?  You could mine about $250 of bitcoins in about a week with a 6 GH/s box!  Why would you sell it??  Why people??  Cmon, snake oil, and that's all there is to it.  I feel sorry for all those people that put money down.  Yes they say they're shipping, but I guarantee it's not 6GH/s!  Real ASICS are currently at best about 3 times faster than modern FPGA boards, not 30.

1 hour 40 minutes, and 1 more meaningful post to go Smiley

Meaningful post #2.  Would you believe I actually impressed an attractive female with my Bitcoin knowledge?  I wouldn't have thought that women would find money that interesting.
