Posts dont matter, you need 4 hours of activity! The sticky is on the top of this subforum page! 4 hours is nothing with all the useful info on this board. Take me days to get through everything!

Yes, but then these forums just people chiming in with senselessly short posts, just so they can reach their posting limit to get access to the other forums. I am not sure there is much value in that either other than keeping the SPAM bots out.

The restrictions probably keep some idiots from clogging the forums.
I must be pretty close to 5 now.
Hoping to get upto 5 myself.
Seems like a good system to me, bit annoying I didn't know this before as I've been a long term lurker. When it came to registering to contribute to something worthwhile - I found I couldn't reply :| oh we'll, lesson learnt.
But at least you don't find spams all over the forum...
I dont think it's a good system. It only fills database with lots of junk posts written to increment the post count.
It's a good system, imo.
Can someone please tell me how I can gain normal privileges on this forum?

Technically, by asking in the whitelist request thread. Of course, we're also good at catching newbies "in the wild", so to speak, but you should post there if you want to be noticed for sure.Thanks

Is it a total of 5 posts that you need to be able to post in the main forum? I have 6, but it still won't let me post. Did they increase the number of posts needed?
