The first time i heard about bitcoin is from my geeky friend who discovered this kind of cryptocurrency and in the first few weeks, i don't believe him that we can earn money here on bitcoin but after he shows his profit or converted bitcoin into fiat. It attracts me to try this kind of opportunity and now i can say that i'm earning more than he can.
Geeky people will easier to know about bitcoin, because it is so related with technology. I heard bitcoin for the first time from my brother, he isn't geek but he have a lot of geeky friends.

The first time u heard about bitcoin on the TV on news, but that time they were talking about bitcoin as about new financial pyramid. And when I have just joined to bitcoin I was searching the way to play poker online without cash.

I first saw it various online advertisement about the services through Bitcoin. I also came through various forum topics about BTC, but ignored it that time. Later after few months, understood all from a person.
A friend of me introduced bitcoin as an earning source when I was in additional need of money other than the regular earning from monthly gross income. This helped me to learn more about it and little by little explored more about the truth behind it as a technology. Now making regular saving in bitcoin as well involved in small scale trading.
Even though we live in the internet era as I have read many of the posts of this thread I was surprised that most of the people learned about bitcoin from a friend or a relative and not from internet. The way I see it it shows that the news by word of mouth is still alive.

My case is similar to some other users, I was first trying to learn more about economics, politics and free market related topics, as a consequence, I found content on YouTube that talked about the cryptocurrency, and this made me learn about the purpose of Bitcoin. But to better understand how the currency works and to make sure that it was something serious, I looked for content with a more technical level on the subject.
One of my friends introduced Bitcoins to me. As far as I remember, it took allot of time for him to make me understand what Bitcoin is and how it is mined and used, coz I ask too many stupid questions..

It's not a big deal how you heard abiut bitcoin , the most important is to keep support bitcoin.
Bitcoin was headlining news sites and in the financial sectors when the price rose to thousand dollars in 2014 and that made be want to learn more about bitcoin and started using bitcoin .It was difficult to understand everything during that time but with time i know a thing or thing.

Same here even I came to know about bitcoin through my friend and he showed me how he was earning money with bitcoin and firstly I was bit confused about it but after reading and learning I found bitcoin very interesting concept and now I cannot afford to stay away from bitcoins.

Yes being a volatile currency, there are many opportunities of earning through bitcoin trading and even in other sectors such offering services, lending etc can render good returns than that of fiat. However, I think people should look at bitcoin as a medium of exchange rather than a money making scheme or something (yes making money through it is no offence but still we should have broad approach). This is my personal opinion and everyone might have the different opinion than this one.
