Yeah, there's always this type of friend of ours that's always there willing to listen. It doesn't matter whether they'd give us life advise but as long as they have lend an ear, that's what makes us feel comfortable with them and that's already a big help because not everyone has their time to listen to a friend whether they're close or not. And to those people that will listen and will criticize us, I have no problems with that. To be honest, that's the kind of friend that want you to be at a better situation because of their criticism, they're giving the person they're talking to an advise to get up and quit whatever it takes.

At the end of the day, we're still or each of us still have the final say to whatever we do. Someone can quit and stop their own addiction having an inspiration and after listening to good advices. But some, after listening, they'd do probably nothing and will keep going so the essence is just to listen and release what they want to say and in hope that someone might understand their situation.
It's true, sometimes it's not wrong to give criticism, because those who are addicted to gambling need this to be able to make them aware, perhaps even harsh criticism can be seen as a slap for them so that they realize that what they have done has caused them to experience losses, besides that they also If they are advised gently, they will usually not care if they are not the ones who want to be advised. What you say is true, not everyone has free time to listen to other people's stories, of course other people must have their own problems, in fact I applaud people who have problems but they can solve them well alone. Apart from that, don't be offended by criticism received by other people because the aim is to bring awareness to the mistakes that have been made.
for example, with those who have listened to our advice and that too of their own accord and want to get advice, but when they get advice they still ignore it and they continue to do what they want, I think that's annoying, isn't it? I mean, if you really need suggestions and advice from other people, accept it when the advice is heard, don't ignore it, even if it's like that, I think they don't appreciate other people who have given them advice, maybe it really takes time to process. but sometimes it annoys me too.

People who are more attracted to gambling, and they become addicted, never expect anything good, but they are attracted to gambling. When you see a gambling addict, he is a burden to the family and has no value in society, the gambler always imagines negative speculations on how to make money by gambling. If there is a gambler who sells his shoe shop just to bet it is the greatest folly, and he is a great fool. Although the gambler may have thought that by selling his shoe shop he would gamble and make a lot of money where he could live happily with his family. But actually this is the biggest risk where he can lose money and become destitute, but it is best if a business is permanent. But since this gambler sold his shoe shop to gamble, he must be very addicted to it mentally, or he would not have done such a thing. We know there are many gamblers who gamble responsibly, and they are more ideal they will never be addicted to gambling rather they are experienced in it. However, gamblers who become addicted will never be able to move forward, instead they will lose money and become victims.
Addiction is losing. A horrible sickness that drives people insane. People, not all gamblers are addicts. Some players know how to have fun, experience the rush, and leave. Addiction is like quicksand. You're drawn in until you lose sight of everything else. Diseases need treatment, not judgment.

No, we shouldnt disregard the issue. These people need help recovering. Addiction goes beyond gambling, though. To fill a void and numb pain. We must address many issues to remedy this situation. Lets stop treating addicts like losers and start treating them human. They deserve our support and compassion. If helped, kids can overcome this sickness and become winners. Really, I've seen it, and its gorgeous.
Yeah, nice word composition bud, love your input, and just a few things to note, how about those who are addicted but refuse to even accept it in the first place?
If you are a Christian who know the Bible, remember that chapter and verse where God asked a question, He said "Can two work together except they agree?"

It's takes someone who has a problem to..
First, accept having that problem.
And second, accept needing help, some people I've come across fufil the first, but fail in the later, that is, they accept being addicted to gambling, but pride won't allow them accept needing help, most especially, if you are someone they have always belittled or looked down on.

Anyways, your advice is good, I mean, I love it, but then, it doesn't apply to addicted gamblers in general.

For so many years I've moved out from gambling addiction I certainly say that it went a lot of troubles before deciding to quit on this situation. There were times I failed to do so, then again and again committing same habit becoming so bad and it even made me penny less despite of having work those day living in a single life as a person. Only the time when I got married I realized that staying in addiction with gambling would not give me a happy life and seeing my son growing up I couldn't afford to see him suffering because of my financial instability because of gambling.

It's a matter of pride for you to be able to get rid of your gambling addiction. It's really difficult for you to get rid of that addiction, because basically, if you're married, family happiness is the main key so that your household remains harmonious. and we already realize that gambling destroys us not only materially but also loses our family. if we don't want to change and eliminate bad habits even just to seek pleasure

True, recovering from gambling addiction can be said to be an achievement, because the majority of gamblers who are already addicted are really difficult to do so and maybe I would also say that recovering from addiction is a fortune that is difficult to get by others because it is so difficult to control ourselves when we are so obsessed with gambling. If we talk about the impact, yes of course as you said that the bad impact of addiction will not only destroy us in terms of material but it can also destroy family relationships and I think lately it is not uncommon for family relationships to be destroyed which end in separation because one of their partners is involved in gambling in an excessive way which in turn causes various problems and bad impacts that damage harmony in the family. And this is why we always advise anyone, especially beginners, to always limit their mindset towards winning in gambling, maintain your awareness and never take actions that are beyond your ability.
I totally get what you're saying. Listening to someone talk about their gambling addiction can be really tough. It's crucial to be there for them without judging and to reassure them that seeking help is nothing to be embarrassed about. They're not alone in this. There are plenty of resources available, whether it's seeing a therapist, joining a support group to connect with others who understand, or finding different treatments that work for them. With the right support and determination, they can definitely overcome this. There's a brighter future waiting for them.

Really depends on who the gambling addict is telling his story, there are individuals who really frown gambling and so it's hard for them tor relate in such cases and as what the OP describe it could be their reactions. And then you also have people who might not be addicts but gamble at times and knows that predicament of a full blown addiction and he could have empathy when the addicted one tells his story.

So still 50/50 as we really don't know how any person will react when they hear this kind of stories. But at the end of the day, if there will be anyone that will understand a addict, it could really be his family, wife or brother to lean on during this trying times and then they both figure it out how to go over this addiction. And hopefully the addict when he open up, means that he really wanted to quit for good and so seeking help from family members is the best thing that they will do.

We can't take them for a long time inside of us and that's why we have to express and tell it no matter what the situation is. Releasing it through conversation to the people that we trust that will keep our thoughts and feelings is the best thing to do when you just want to tell it when no one is there to listen to you. We need the right people, I mean all of those gamblers that have been dealing with the problem of addiction need not a lot of people but only a few and even one person to listen to them, as that's what a perfect and right person to listen.

And when someone is willing to listen, the advises will be mentioned for sure and that's for the gambler's goodness sake. Those people that want to harm you will not say good things about your experience and will just say plain words that might encourage you like "you can do it", "you will overcome it" sort of words like that but at least they still have said something good to you. But it's up to you on how you're going to take that. Because I know that some gamblers really need encouraging and touching words for them to move on and help themselves get out of addiction.
Apart from that, everyone has other people they trust in any matter, for example by being able to listen to our stories where we need advice and input from other people regarding the problems we are experiencing. also, not everyone can listen to stories about the problems they are experiencing, maybe there will be people who can listen to our problems but they end up criticizing us and that might be the wrong person, because the truth is those who can listen to stories about our problems but they give advice and suggestions for us that lead to better things in the future. It's true what you said there will only be one person who can accept and listen to our problems well and that is the right person, but the right person like this can be anyone, whether it's family or even other people like friends.

At the end of the day, we're still or each of us still have the final say to whatever we do. Someone can quit and stop their own addiction having an inspiration and after listening to good advices. Love and responsibility for others motivate us to break toxic routines. You realized your addiction was hurting your family and decided to change. That decision defines a man's character. Remember, every day is a new chance to choose
That's made me obtain a strong principles in life, and that choice of mine helped me inspire other close friends who also undergone same problems. Anyways, there were other people doesn't take it seriously and yet until now they've been struggling to remove gambling addiction on their end.
Unfortunately, everyone of us has their own decisions we can't control it but only themselves.

That's right, because after all it's not the right time to judge them with harsh criticism for example, and in fact there are always some addicted gamblers who really have the desire to stop but they are confused and don't know how to reduce their interest in gambling, some friends I have been in that position where they are also confused and usually the main step they take is to delete the bank account they have on their cell phone, with this idea they lose the way to make deposits when the feeling of gambling appears again, but in some cases Often they are not strong enough to resist all the temptations they see, such as hearing or seeing their friends succeed in getting big wins, which in the end makes them fall back into gambling.

This is why addiction is a disease that is difficult to cure because as I said before, they have to fight the urge to do their favorite habits because these habits always torment them, especially in financial matters. So the point is that there is no harm in helping them with various suggestions or input that we think can help them get out of this terrible zone, especially if they have admitted their mistakes and have the desire to stop.

I think they don't wait but rather they take themselves deeper and deeper into gambling so that they become addicted to gambling and after that it will be difficult for them to return to the right path as usual or a normal life. with those who are already gambling, the possibility of being addicted or addicted to gambling will exist, and they will focus on that alone, even if they don't have money, it is likely that they will look for ways to make money and return to gambling. When I have a friend who really can't be advised, I will let him, let him feel the misery of the bad effects of gambling addiction and maybe they will come to their senses by themselves.

What you say is correct, I think those who are addicted cannot enjoy the gambling they are doing and losing the money they bet makes them anxious about wanting to get back the money they have lost, but the solution they take is wrong by going back to gambling and hoping to win again. will cover their losses, even if their initial goal was entertainment but they experience a loss of self-control then gambling is no longer entertainment but a disaster, besides that there are also many factors that cause them to experience addiction and loss.
the future no one knows about tomorrow how the next story will be different. Maybe at an age when they are not yet in the retirement phase, they will continue to enjoy gambling. However, if you enter the retirement phase, you will become a weak person. they will prioritize mental health conditions. all ambition will change into a person who accepts a fragile situation

there is no certain limit for stopping gambling, all gamblers can stop and retire at any time as long as they have awareness, but if they do not have awareness then they will continue to gamble until they are old even if they are not aware that the gambling they are doing has caused them to experience many losses. Actually, gambling is not bad if they can do it properly. but the mistake is that they do it incorrectly where they gamble excessively until they get various problems which really make things difficult for them, when they have experienced a lot of problems they can just tell the problems to the people around them, but it must be known that not everyone is happy With this, they have to find the right person to be able to listen to their story and give them good advice.

What's more, if they continue to hide their problems, I think there is a chance for them to become stressed, so to maintain their mental health, one of the things that must be done is to tell the right people about the problems we are facing. with the right people, of course they will provide suggestions that guide us to things that are better than before. because if they are the wrong people, chances are they won't listen to the addict's story seriously and just respond to it in a joking way which won't result in anything better.

Better listen if someone do make out that kind of sharing up their story as a form of respect even if you dont know that someone who do make those kind of open discussion about his life and with his gambling addiction.Yes, we can feel pity about their conditions but there's nothing we can do to help but rather we can only give out those piece of advises which it might help them out but dont expect that those simple words could really make out that changes on which we know that once addiction would shackled into you then there's no easy way for you to get out or would be able to get away from it, not unless if you are really that having that strong mind and good control towards yourself then it could possible still happen but majority of people who do end up into this condition do really end up on having that common addicted person condition.

Tell him about those kind of realizations on how you should really be that controlling yourself on such condition at the moment that you do play gambling. We do know that when we do spend too much
money then it would really be bringing up that kind of disastrous effect.

Gambling addiction can be very terrible and frustrating that it affects both your financial and emotional wellbeing.  There are lots of gamblers out there in the open struggling with gambling addiction  wishing to share their pains with someone who could understand, but they don't actually know the right person(s) to confide in about the pains they bear as they fear that they will be judged, criticized and the rest.

I had this conversation with a stranger today, he had to tell me a few things he's struggling with with his gambling habit and how he had tried to put an end to it but finds himself going back to same habits thereafter. And he felt that  talking to somebody about it will help his state but instead the person he felt comfortable talking to about was so judgemental towards him which had made him resort to self-help but nothing has really changed.

Has anyone gambling addict shared his situation with you and how did you handled it? please come clean about it let's learn from each other.

Gambling addiction is not something that we need to wake up one day and decided to stop gambling. Things does not work like that when it comes to gambling. Addiction can be critical and it is not something we need to joke with. There are people that have became poor because of addiction of not be disciplined with money.

Gambling is good but we need to be wise and take things seriously when it comes to our finances. Discipline is one of the ways we can stay in track and keep trying our luck to make money. There are many people that have been eaten away because they were not patient and became too addicted to some things that are not necessary or does not make one get fortunate.

The friend of mine was suffered so hard  from the gambling addiction that had to betake himself to the help of the  hypnotherapist. He told me that  he even  lost the ability  of sleeping  o'nights as his brain was gambling all the time but after a few hypnosis sessions this habitude has  passed and now he has a healthy sleep and became less addicted to gambling,  in a sense he has recovered his ability to throw gambling aside for more or less strech of time.

Congratulations to your friend who is addicted to gambling and has been able to overcome the addiction and come out of gambling. In fact basically civil society and society people will never support gambling. Still, it is natural that people will gamble. People who gamble primarily play for pleasure. Later, in an attempt to fully recover the money lost in gambling, he gambled again and again and gradually became addicted to gambling. There are many people in our society who are addicted to gambling and have become destitute. So every new gambler should gamble consciously so that they do not become addicted to gambling.

The root of the problem comes from afar, perhaps from childhood, maybe it was very poor and the player wants to realize himself through gambling in adulthood. And even if he manages to win something, it inevitably brings him back to the game. I even sometimes think that some players cannot explain exactly why they play. They should stop and delve deeply into their thoughts and think carefully, I think that, although a small amount, they would take a pause to better understand themselves, at least it helped me.

I also do not rule out that many people escape into the game to distance themselves from family problems. Maybe they weren't ready to face the responsibility or something like that. We must not forget that there are psychologists who can help, but at the same time we must not forget that among them there are deceivers who pose as specialists. I visited them for some time and it also helped me in the fight against mild addiction.

That's a powerful story, man. It takes guts to overcome addiction, especially a deceptive one like gambling. Financial, emotional, and psychological battles rage. You share your problem with others, which shows your strength and resilience. The turning point you describe, that realization that came with marriage and fatherhood, is a common one. Love and responsibility for others motivate us to break toxic routines. You realized your addiction was hurting your family and decided to change. That decision defines a man's character. Remember, every day is a new chance to choose

Well, long time ago actually, and if I still remember well, it should be around 2015 or 2016, I used to have a very close friend who was frequent gambler, initially, I thought he was just playing those games simply because he had the money to spend on them and he enjoys doing it, but I realized that he was actually addicted to gambling the very moment he had some crises with his then girlfriend who he planned to marry, they were living together and working in the same place.

Things became a bit rough after a child came in-between them, expenses in the house increased significantly that my friend usually started struggling to save out money to use for gambling, but in other to keep gambling, he started stealing from his girlfriend, and when the issue blew out, I called him and asked him why he would disgrace himself in such a manner, he then opened up to me that he had initially planned and tried to stop gambling, but he discovered that he can't bring himself to stop.

Unfortunately though, I tried to help him in the best way I can, but I couldn't do much since unforseen circumstances made me relocate to another state far from him, and it's also unfortunate that the girlfriend (supposed to be wife) later left him; taking their baby along with her, due to his addiction to gambling.

If a problem gambler shares that he has an addiction, it means he has made a huge effort on himself and accepted that he has gambling problems. Which are most likely problems with spending money, wasting time and the fact that gambling takes all his attention.

It is very important to talk about this problem, and I often see in interviews about addicted gamblers that they come to share their ideas in order to feel the power to admit the problem. And this is the first step to getting rid of addiction.
You mean in order to move on they must first admit their gambling addiction.
I would have to agree with that. It's on us if we are the gambling addicts. Mentally it does affect people and because we came from a traditional belief that gambling is a sin, it becomes harder to admit it to someone else. I think those who will step up and confess their problem are brave people and if they want change they must overcome that first.
I think the steps next to it will be the key to change our bad habit because being brave is not the only thing that must be done but also keeping that discipline intact that gambling must be controlled to become a responsible gambler.
