Here I am going to share the story of someone I know who has lost a lot of money in his life through online gambling on mobile and has recently been able to stop himself from gambling and drug addiction. Basically I am highlighting a change in the personal life of a friend of mine. A close friend of mine got involved in drugs and gambling in addition to being in college, and for a long time he was a kind of insider from gambling and drug addiction.Disgust has developed and he is able to restrain himself from the strong attraction of gambling. In this case, his close friends and his family played the best role. Let us say here that no matter how big the problem is, if the matter can be shared with the family, then it is very easy to get rid of that problem. My friend shared this openly with family members and they helped him out of gambling and drug addictionSufficient help is forthcoming. Basically my friend was able to succeed due to family motivation and religious motivation and he was able to prevent himself from all kinds of bad deeds by going to the mosque regularly and offering prayers.
to relief yourself from gambling addiction and even alcohol addiction is very easy, the thing that you will do to free yourself in such is to relocate from that particular environment you find yourself to another environment, sometimes people get addicted in anything they do due to influence in that particular environment, secondly gambling is like decision and their is some people who do take a decision that they most recover whatever they have lost in gambling and unless they recover their loss they will not settle down, so what we need to do when we come across such people is to relocate them and engage them in so many activities that will consume much of their time.

This should be the work of professionals only professionals know how to properly communicate with those addicted to gambling, average people listen so they can give advice or judge but a professional listens to understand the situation of the gambler, so if you know a gambler who likes to communicate on how to cure his addiction he should be led to the one who knows how to handle gamblers are somewhat sensitive if they want to open then they want to cure their addiction because it's already hurting them.
Giving out advice isn't necessarily bad. I doubt that any sane person would have malicious intent, but I agree that gambling addiction is a serious matter and may have adverse consequences without professional guidance. We're not in a position to effectively assist someone who's struggling, nor do we have the best approach to encountering such issues; gambling may not be the only issue they're going through, as it can be combined with other mental illnesses. Our role in such cases should be to be available, supportive, and, most importantly, not judgmental.

Support of immediate family is indeed necessary for the gambler to beat his addiction. He should feel the full understanding of the situation of the people surrounding him. If he is alone with his battle, he may go back again to his habit. Also, if you have your own family member battling this kind of addiction, try to find the root cause of his behaviour. Learning why he is subjecting himself to this activity beyond normal will give you idea on how to help him get out of his situation.

Gambling addiction can be very terrible and frustrating that it affects both your financial and emotional wellbeing.  There are lots of gamblers out there in the open struggling with gambling addiction  wishing to share their pains with someone who could understand, but they don't actually know the right person(s) to confide in about the pains they bear as they fear that they will be judged, criticized and the rest.

I had this conversation with a stranger today, he had to tell me a few things he's struggling with with his gambling habit and how he had tried to put an end to it but finds himself going back to same habits thereafter. And he felt that  talking to somebody about it will help his state but instead the person he felt comfortable talking to about was so judgemental towards him which had made him resort to self-help but nothing has really changed.

Has anyone gambling addict shared his situation with you and how did you handled it? please come clean about it let's learn from each other.

Yes, one person shared his story. This man had big problems with gambling addiction and this had a very negative impact on the financial situation of not only him but also his family, as often happens. He spent a large amount of money, I don’t remember exactly how much, but it doesn’t matter. This man’s wife did not know about his problem with gambling, and when he told her that he had spent a large amount of money from the family budget, she reacted normally, there were no scandals, showdowns, etc. He told her that now all the finances will be with her, because he doesn’t trust himself. To this she replied that he is the head of the family and he should have the money, she trusts him. He hasn't played since then. It should be noted that these people go to church and believe in God. This is an important point, God can give freedom if a person tries to get rid of addiction.
The main advice is that if a person decides to stop playing, then he must do it completely, one should not think that if once a month or once a week is possible, this will not lead to anything good
On the moment that someone shares up his problems about gambling addiction then this someone do really need up some help.He might not be able to open up his problems into their own family or loved ones or they had been simply ignored or being scolded out. On the moment that they would be telling something specially into those people whom they dont know then this do means that they do need up some advises on which its not really that something bad to give out some advises on which this could ease up on the hard condition or situation that they are into. It might be just that a few words but it might really be something effective or could help out somehow. It might not really be that an assured thing but at least you do give out your suggestions and advises. We do know that gambling addiction stories would really be always sad specially it would be connected
on messing up your finances.

You might know that person but at least giving out some words of wisdom or recommendation could be something helpful. Some people would be finding out to be not that good on making
some talking or interaction with these people but if someone talks about his experience or condition then putting up a few seconds or minutes of your time isnt something
that a bad thing at all.

None so far but to those that are experiencing addiction and want to get out, keep on seeking help and keep on trying methods that might work for you.

If the first methods that you have been tipped off and you try it but it's not working, keep trying and do some more of it and maybe there's going to be more effective.

So, if you're willingful to get out of addiction. You're also willing to test every method that has been told to you but still, it is you that will handle and help yourself out of it.

Some addicted gamblers are really going through a lot. Some of them really want to stop gambling, but they are finding it very difficult to do that, and they are scared to seek for help because they might be looked down on. Immediately after you tell some people about your gambling addiction, instead of them helping you out, they will end up making you feel like an irresponsible person instead of helping the person out.

Has anyone gambling addict shared his situation with you and how did you handled it?
No addicted gambler has shared their problem with me before, most of them are always thinking they are not addicted to gambling, as it’s obvious that they are addicted to gambling.

Maybe they have the courage to talk to a stranger outside more than the people they know but then they are afraid that the stranger will refer them to other people and worse to the people they know. This is why they choose to seek for help online instead because they are completely anonymous here. This is still better than those addicted gamblers who just accepted their situation and are only going with the flow.
Well, I see some sense in this. There are people who think it is actually safe to share their problems with those who don't know their background, as they don't have to worry about their friends using what they have with them to attack or judge them.

No doubt there are relatives and friends who are that way. Instead of offering you a helping hand with the problem you share with them, they will use it against you, talk about you in a negative way to others, or even extend the information to those who you might not want to hear about it, so if I see those who are afraid of sharing their addiction stories with close friends, I will completely understand it.

I've met a couple of guys that you could clearly tell had a gambling problem, one would buy a silly amount of scratchcards on a regular basis and you could tell he was just chasing that tiny buzz that he first got from a winning card - regardless of the amount of money that had been lost in between. At least when someone is older, you are highly unlikely to change someones habits and they have to be the one to direct change if they want it to stick. It is frustrating and pitiful to watch that someone will put so many other things after their addiction, it can really break apart families and cause very erratic behavior when they cannot get their fix. Unfortunately you are better off leaving them along to figure it out, otherwise it might start impacting on you.

Never found someone telling me about the situation to me about gambling. This is because maybe I am not often in the environment of people who spend a lot of time in gambling lately because of the other busyness that I am working on.

If you want to be honest with the person who tells me about gambling addiction, of course I will hear well and will not try to cut the story until he really runs out in expressing what he experienced.
Maybe I don't have much I can say to him as a solution because actually in his heart he really wants his money to return. At most I will say let's be busy with other jobs that are more eager to do.

I know it's not a powerful treatment, but what can I do other than being a good listener for the story.
Even though we might not see people trying to explain to  others about there gambling addiction, it is wise for us to make sure ask people about their gambling activities because these could be one of the ways they could disclose to us about there gambling lifestyle. No one would want to start gambling discussion or talk about their gambling lifestyle without anyone starting the conversation. Addiction is something some persons are never ready to disclose to people and having conversations is one of the ways to know.

On moments such as this on which it would really be that unlikely that they would really be that tending to share up their problems specially with gambling addiction. Doesnt matter whether gambling or other things on which speaking about addiction then people would really be that not that sharing that much when it comes to this manner. They would really be tending to keep it as a secret as much as possible on which we know that society would really be having that huge bad impression or having that not good views towards gambling. On the moment that they will really be experiencing such problem then they would rather be silent and would be experiencing on their own. Even if its really that hard to make themselves that be able to control but still they wont really be deciding on telling someone
that they are suffering from addiction due to shame nor really that due to not be that so confident on doing so.

Are gambling addicts really that open to talking to people? I have only been reading about gambling addicts stories online and have not come across any one that comes out to talk to me in the open; even the guys whom I suspect to be addicted to gambling don't even admit to it, talk more about sharing their pains with me.

If any comes to me, I will definitely still reciprocate the same advice that I share here on the forum with the person: either they seek professional help or he should embrace his family more, as they are the only ones that can render him the help he needs and distract him from the addiction a bit.
Based on some people that I know, they didn't want to open about their sufferings and addictions to other people no matter how close they are to them, usually what they do is to posted it anonymously in some sites that somehow can helps them for having a relief but There are some kind of people who really likes to share what they've encountered in gambling activities so that they can share things that needs to avoid so we can't be like them.
Maybe they have the courage to talk to a stranger outside more than the people they know but then they are afraid that the stranger will refer them to other people and worse to the people they know. This is why they choose to seek for help online instead because they are completely anonymous here. It would be even better if they are like that you said who can share their experience and gave us a tip and trick about gambling. After all, it is still up to us, if we are too strong to not get pulled by the temptation that gambling brings.

Has anyone gambling addict shared his situation with you and how did you handled it? please come clean about it let's learn from each other.

I, the words of a gambling addict, anyone can put them on me. Honestly, I don't mind that. in fact, I have experienced it even though it is in the past. However, to this day sadly I am still involved in betting. But, there is a difference between before and my gambling now. I used to gamble without basic principles for me personally, lack of knowledge and understanding, big ego and ambition. Currently, I involve experience, knowledge and understanding. Even though it stopped for some time, to this day gambling is still part of my hobby and is part of the type of entertainment that I have and play.
So I don't need to refer to someone who is a gambling addict who told me, after all I have experienced it too. After all, most of the problems are the same for every gambler. yeah, it's equally difficult to stop gambling regardless of the causal factors. So, I can answer this question according to what I experienced without referring to other sources. In essence, gambling is fun, challenging and provides enjoyment. Unfortunately, many of us ignore that this hobby contains a lot of risks. not just losing money, property and so on. but also with the mental health problems of the gambler himself.

Referring to what you posted in this thread, never be sad for anyone who is experiencing this phase. It's not a problem that we don't have the support of family, friends or experts. but really aware of ourselves, and what needs to be improved is us. So, it's not the people around us who may only be able to provide suggestions or advice. If situations and conditions are difficult to change in the near future, change ourselves in our own way. To achieve this, awareness is needed, admitting that we have gone far and starting again with a strong foundation of determination coupled with intention. I believe one thing, the process will never betray.  If someone just waits for help, how long will he change. So, we are the ones who take the first steps. Anyway, I still like gambling, especially sports betting. but currently, I have conceptualized everything with several rules that I apply. The most basic thing is, know the limits that only we can afford.

So far as I remember I think there is no gambling addict that has confessed with me his story but since I am a bit observant about people then I have a hint about their habits, though some of them shared their experiences but never had heard of a gambler being judged as we  are open minded and just having fun and just laugh at our strange and funny experiences.

Agreeably professionals in that field would be in the right position to address a gambling addict issue with their wealth of professionalism. Nevertheless, it doesn't stop anyone not to render advisory aid to a gambling addict that approaches you for help from the addiction challenge. Like a first aid to an injured patient, you can render the advisory help and other supports within your capacity and later refer the addict to the professionals to continue from there. By so doing you also makes easier the work of the professional in dealing with the addict.

Has anyone gambling addict shared his situation with you and how did you handled it? please come clean about it let's learn from each other.
Even though I read lots of stories about gambling addicted people, I have never met an addicted gambler person to person. It must be hard to handle this situation, because addicted people are stubborn and will tend to not take into consideration any advices you have to give them. They will insist on their addiction, even knowing it's harmful for themselves, because they don't want to get rid that pleasure feeling the addiction proportionates them on short term.

I believe you can only handle addicted gamblers if they have genuine desire for overcoming that addiction. Otherwise, it's just going to be a waste of time from your side to try helping them.

The point might be to trigger that genuine desire on them. Then we could start thinking on strategies on how to do that.

Most addicts don't like to share their addiction story with you, if they don't see you as a gambler like them. It is only if you are a gambler and they have seen you several times gambling where they are, that they can open up to you. They will only open up to your if they see you as a friend.

Another problem is that some gbkers don't know that they are addicts and they feel they are fine, such gambler will not tell you anything and might even hide his gambling activities from you. The only advice that I can tell anyone suffering from gambling addiction is to quit gambling and look for another means to for fun, because gambling will continue taking from him.
