Most should always be kept in bitcoin, this is the law. Take a look at how the market has been moving over the past few months and you will get all the information you need.
If this information is not enough for you, watch the last bull run and then everything will become clear.

Totally agree with you. I have 80% of my portfolio in Bitcoin and rest is Top 10 Altcoins. BTC is the King of crypto empire and will continue ruling for coming months and years. Its supply is limited to 21 Million that is why it is Anti inflationary Asset. Institutions and general public will continue using it as Hedge against fiat currencies.

Altcoins have not indicated the sort of last time bull and that is the reason I changed to diminish the speculation for altcoins. Presently Bitcoin has made twofold of benefit since the consistently of the year. When vulnerability and uncertainty happen all in all market. I'm certain that altcoins will hit vigorously contrasted with BTC.

You can be surprised, but I don`t have Bitcoin in my portfolio at all. It`s a really good coin, but I think there are many projects which have bigger potential than Bitcoin, which is only an old assets for savings. Maybe I made mistake, time will show, but I don`t think so for now
You should think to add bitcoin into your portfolios coon consider this is the coin that dominated the cryptocurrency market. everyone was putting their money into the bitcoin and people are investing a few percent of their total value into the altcoins. You must think about bitcoin is possible to surpass 100k rate in the future as there's no inflation.
The supply will be the same from year to year but the adopters will increase.

And what is the difficulty itself? I think the formula is as old as the world.
Most of the portfolio should consist of bitcoin, the rest can be distributed in parts among the top altcoins you like.
I would advise you to take the Gray Scale portfolio as your basis.

Considering the current price of BTC which has already exceeded the 35k USD mark, of course, it is very surprising for such a great start to bitcoin during the first month of 2021. yes of course now there will be a lot of big investors who will join in this extraordinary investment because bitcoin deserves to be held in the long and short term.

let's say that my altcoin wallet is composed of 25% bitcoin, 25% ethereum, 10% usdt and 40% various altcoin / tokens, obviously at this moment i'm trying to increase the percentage of bitcoin
And you can use your 10% USDT for increasing your bitcoin. You have 40% for various alts? I'll be waiting to trade it for bitcoin if I'm the owner of that portfolio you have. It should be that bitcoin to have the most percentage in everyone's portfolio if they want it to be secured and have a better fluctuation with their money. That is only my opinion because with the situation you see for bitcoin, it is really the winner this time starting from the holiday seasons and it won't just stop.

How many percent do you keep in BTC versus altcoins?

Atm I have 35% BTC then a big chunk of ETH and a handfull of other altcoins (see distribution below)

https://altpocket.io/profile/Octular

BTC feels much safer at the same time as I see a big upside in the altcoins compared to historical levels.
This is a great question, it depends on how much you have to invest and your risk tolerance. If you don't have a lot of money, you aren't likely to get rich investing in BTC now. Putting 100 usd might get you 1000 usd in a few years if you are lucky. 100 usd in the right microcap, like 0xMR or UNCX, could turn into 100k during this bullrun.

That's some really great portfolio well for me my distribution is 70% Bitcoin, 15% Ethereum, 10% Polkadot and 5% Random coins. Well so far the greatest return is coming from Bitcoin and Ethereum let's hope we could all benefit from all of our investments.

This question becomes even harder now.

My portfolio is totally dominated by BTC and ETH. XRP was starting to take a more significant chunk, but then came the SEC law suit and spoiled it.
Your portfolio is amazing, but for Altcoins it not only includes XRP, but it is still much better than XRP at the moment even though the ranking is clearly different, if you want you can add other Altcoins like Litecoin and Polkadot which are both also good Altcoins to be saved.
I have other coins. It's just that BTC and ETH are dominating even more due to the incredible performance last couple of weeks.

Here you can see my distribution https://altpocket.io/profile/Octular
BTC and ETH stands for ~70% but I have DOT, ADA, BNB Chainlink etc.

Basically, if you really want to make some money and are willing to take risks then all altcoin portfolio isn't a bad idea.
There isn't a point in diversifying 1000eur between 10 coins. Just pick 1-3 that you believe in and hope that at least one of them takes off.

When you have a bit more then BTC/ETH and altcoins. I have seen people recommending at least 50% in BTC/ETH and everything else in promising alts.

I used to think that altcoins will bring to me more profit than bitcoin.and that is why i gave importance holding altcoin, more than bitcoin.that's the reason I'm regreting cause after passing long time, bitcoin again prove itself as best investment. Even mainwhile bitcoin already pump upto $20k$. Well I've 20% bitcoin, 50% eth, 10% tron, 10% bnb and rest of 10% is mixer of others altcoin.

Its true that for now, bitcoin is most safest and most profitable coin even the groth of bitcoin is also faster than others cryptocurrency.but i believe that holdings only one currency is risky, so i hold differnt currency and make my Protfolio. i hodl bitcoin nearly 50%, eth 25%, bnb 10% and 15% are xrp,trx & others.those altcoins already pump 1/3 of themselves and bring good profit for me.

I'm not investing in crypto during this whole period of time because of the lack of time but if i were here, i'd put 30% on Bitcoin, 30% in LiteCoin, 20% on Monero and 20% diversified into the Altcoins. Put in mind that my investments in Altcoins might be volatile and that means i might dump some of my holdings and buy other picks that turns to be promising. You shouldn't really "Hodl" altcoins, the main thing you must hold is BTC right now.

If you are a serious or professional investor then bitcoin and ethereum are enough for you.
If you are interested in diversification even then just stay in top and well reputed alts like trx, ada, neo, xlm etc.
Investing in new coins and tokens is very risky and in the long run most of them will bring you loss so better to avoid them.

Considering bitcoin as the first mover it always has that edge, secondly now the world at general is acknowledging it as a deflationary store of value so personally i feel more comfortable staying in btc so atleast 50 to 60% portfolio should be bitcoin then 20 to 30% Eth and then the rest.
