I dont know if it is just me or others also experience it. I always set goals financially, set limits in spending and trying hard to save but most of the time no matter how i tell myself to refrain from spending in unnecessary things whenever i see something i really like even if i dont need it i cant resist buying it that cause me to regret later. Are you familiar with this situation?
Most of us are good in theories but have difficulties in putting it into deed. Discipline is the key to your problem. One way to discipline yourself from overspending is to prepare a list of your weekly or monthly expenses. Prepare an envelope with the detail and amount of the specific expenses (ex. Rent - $100; electricity -$50). This will remind you when you doing your purchase if you are within or beyond your budget. This method works for me, so I hope this works for you too.

I usually Pack my things from foods to daily necessity that's why I dont spend alot of money for buying something from a food shop. I always list things or budget my money on where is the good way of spending it. Its always been my habit since I graduated high school and start working.

Everything is important if it makes you happy when you buy it. I don't have a limits for that. I just buy what I want to buy.

you have to keep in mind that those things are not important, so why would you buy it in the first place? i think the problem is the justification, we know it is not important, but we just keep throwing ourselves reasons.

Sometimes I allow myself to spend money on unnecessary things just to please myself a little bit. But if I want to avoid this, then I go shopping with the shopping list to refrain from purchasing unnecessarily. And I carefully dispose of my budget.

Getting away with temptation is a good step on keeping yourself from spending on non-essential things, knowing that you can buy the thing you see.
I think it's a natural thing for us to get interested on the things we don't have, especially the flashy ones, and then regret for buying it. It's a matter of decision-making, and self-control for you to stop spending from on unimportant things.

I am being realistic and what I did is to think first what I need before getting what I want. I will save my money first for my future soon If I could get my own house and for  business purposes. Because it is for the sake of my family I need to secure my money for the future. I dont need to buy some things that does not important it wasted my money.

I keep myself always busy like allotting my time here in crypto. In that way, my attentions will only center on crypto instead of surfing around all day and get tempted with the cool products particularly those that are on sale.

HelloThis is one of the crucial aspects of financial management and I have gone through the same situation. I think I have found the solution to avoid spending on things which are not important. I consider one month cycle to calculate my income and expense statement when I pay my living expenses out of the income, I invest 60% of the remaining income in a diversified manner, then I set aside 20% of the income as the emergency fund and then at the end I keep 20% amount in cash and I rarely buy the important things due to the cash crunch (I have never used credit card at all).

I have my own way to keep myself from spending a lots for the things which is not important...  First I just keep my self busy and away from a lots of destruction... Mostly we did it because we've get bored in our life...  We will go to anywhere because the reason only is we are boring...  Second I keep myself away from those person who will not help me to control my desire to choose my wants rather than my needs...  I keep away from them because instead of controlling to avoid such huge spending they just letting me to do which is not good...  I know if you want to save money it will start in you...  And lastly I've always think on how hard to earn and get a money...  As for today its very difficult to earn rather than to spending...  And as just a blink of an eye all of your works will be go in vain for nothing...

It is ones responsibility to manage its wealth and buy only what is important to him because we are the one managing our lives so it is better to save some for the future dont waste your money buying things thats not important at all because we dont know what will happen in the future.
Yes it's true. But even how tight we hold our finances,we still end up spending it due to some emergency cases.Of course that's inevitable but still saving is still a must for our future needs.I always refrain myself from spending too much because on my own experiences,i will only suffer when in the end i do not have enough money to get in my pocket.Self-discipline and setting up a goal for your money will help you to avoid spending much on unnecessary things.

This is very interesting discussion about because most often unimportant things rather spend a chunk of our money and we end up not having money for the important ones.We always need to draw  a budget that shows our income and expenditure so that we can sit down and analyze and remove the unimportant parts of our budget.

The whole world mechanism is about get money and spending in shit, which the big corporations and government teach us to do, but it will just makes you a rat in the wheel, you are never getting anywhere doing this.

When you know it, you start to think different, save money and purchase assets, not liabilities, that's it. First you save, the rest of you income of spend. Keep that in mind, and in that order (first save, always). That's how I do, it is simple after all.

For me, this is becoming a problem. In my opinion, it is high time, along with school subjects, to teach financial education. According to statistics, only 10% of the world's population makes savings and only 1.5% are engaged in investment.
If this is becoming a problem you should set a goal wherein you can make priorty thr important things to spend your money. Always set a goal in order to keep yourself spending from those things that are not important. Even the statistics you are saying always help yourself to save money for the good future.

this is a very common thing, not just you, I was also often exposed to cases like you, so sometimes damage one of the wishes that I have long planned. It takes a long process to be a consistent person. requires strong self-control. and become a patient person. I read a lot of theoretical books on self-control, but found no science that we can apply to be a strong person. Everything comes back to our own ability to control desire.
