Wow I think it's  just to break your phone and shot yourself  away from internet and smart phones or electronics.
Just kidding 😂 .
But the truth is that an addicted gambler will never accept that they're addicted and it .amen it hard for them to get help and most times, the victim might pick offense if they're been reported to security personnels and might not feel happy about such even the local community  might not happy with you.
The moment you notice that someone is persistently  making bets and making huge losses, I think it is the responsibility  of everyone around the person to cautions the gambler and that's one of the ways to help call someone to other.

Very funny @QueenVera, I almost fell for that.
Well, when it comes to gamblers and how you want to look out for them it will seem like you doing the wrong thing, they just see the good you want to do for them as something bad.
Have seen someone who lost so much money and yet sees everyone as his enemy despite the fact that he was given an advise to go and try another day.
I don't know how it is for an addicted gambler, any time they didn't play is as if is that one time miss that they've to win big and you're to blame for it if you're the one stopping him/her.

The question is if you're a gambler or have someone who is, what's the best way to help out. And what's your story on escaping that addiction (gambling)...

How do you fight this battle?

It hasn't happened to me, but from what I know from people close to me, there comes a time when the person hits rock bottom and that's when they decide to leave. Without reaching that moment and the person's decision, nothing can be done. Then, the normal thing to do is to seek psychological and psychiatric help to help in the process but the solution is to stop gambling for good, of any kind. Those who have reached this situation and leave can't even buy a lottery ticket.

Only the rich people who can afford to lose are addicted to gambling. A middleclass people only gambles in order to earn some extra money to his income. So it’s very rare that any middle class person will get addicted to the gambling. While placing a bet they think multiple outcomes and then only places a bet with so many fear in their mind. If someone has enough money and he is losing it but still continuing the gambling, then definitely he have to divert his mind, either with his family or visiting a place will definitely change his atmosphere.

Try to make peace when you experience loss and realize it resulted from gambling. By trying to realize that it was your fault, you should not return to gambling because you have already tasted loss.

And if your anger is rising rapidly because you see that loss, you should immediately leave the casino and rest. Maybe a cup of coffee is good for you while taking deep breaths to relax your emotions.

You can also tell someone close to you and ask for their help to divert your mind from gambling. But if you are already addicted to gambling, you really have to go to a therapist to ask for help curing your gambling addiction.

How do you fight this battle?

Basically, it all starts with the mind and will of the heart. Believe me, there is nothing better than a drug addict or gambling. in fact, there are certain repercussions of both types of addiction. to be sure, every addict has a different way of handling in each case. We can do various methods to get rid of addiction, there are many methods and people who are experts who can help those of us who are addicted, and rehabilitation is no exception. we can discuss, even assume about methods on how to let go of addiction. in fact, we often have dialogue about ways not to get addicted. but the fact is, whatever it is is not as easy as what we are talking about. in fact, many addicts fail to get rid of their habit, even though they have tried many ways or methods to help them recover.

Referring to my personal experience, in the past, I could be said to be a gambling addict. however, that time online casinos were not as popular as they are today even crypto casinos. the point is, how do we fight this battle? in my case, involving the next of kin. plus giving motivation encouragement so that I can return to normal life. however, if without determination and a strong desire. all of that, will never work. in essence, a person can be healed if he has a high desire and strong determination within himself. but in the process, it is not as easy as I talked about.

Gambling brings so much joy especially when you're on the winning side, when things are all in your favor it just seems like you should never stop. But when it gets bad, you look for a way to pour out your anger, either on someone or on something.
When someone is addicted to gambling I feel it's worst than one who's addicted to drugs.

So much has been said about betting companies regarding how they should be responsible in helping those who are addicted to gambling, although is really hard to do so on there own path because gamblers can't be monitored.
I don't know if booking an appointment with a therapist would help or is something you as a gambler who wants out should do on your own.

The question is if you're a gambler or have someone who is, what's the best way to help out. And what's your story on escaping that addiction (gambling)...

You should see gamble as fun so that you don't end up chasing your loss due to greed and emotions, all these when done as a gambler will lead to addiction. Only gamble with money that you can afford to lose. Self-control is the only thing a gambler needs to discipline himself. You can go for a break for maybe 6months to 1ur,then come back to it again.
Even the person who consider gambling as fun will chase the loss when he experience continuous loss against wins. As in the post, chasing the loss or trying to recover the loss and stop gambling doesn't gonna help people with safe gambling. Right choice is to take break for long term, if not atleast taking interval between bets too could help in having safe gambling. Because, most of the time people loss out of losing the emotional control, when we take interval between bets we'll have the time to realise and take the better decision.

Doing other things that will consume my time is what helped me out. When I get busy with other things then gambling and other addicting activities are being forgotten. So, the logic is like to get addicted to other things but in a productive manner. Your attention and time is gonna be diverted to that newly found activity and will ignore gambling eventually.

Addiction is a process likewise withdrawal from addiction is also a process, so at that if one is addicted first you must let the person understand the level of his problem so that he can truly understand and evaluate the situation and thereafter make up their mind to pull out of the addiction, if this is not done, then there is no amount of efforts anyone can out in that can drag out an addict from that pits, this is why the efforts of the casino to minimize gambling addiction from their end have not really worked.

If you have no self control then you're probably going to have to look at finding a professional to help you stop yourself from gambling.

If you do have some self control, speak with family and friends about helping you keep yourself busy. Go enjoy a movie in the theater, fishing, bowling, or some other activity that occupies your time.

You could also explore some self exclusion options if the normal places you gamble offer them.

I believe gambling addiction is really a serious issue that should be addressed ASAP, as it can have severe really bad consequences for gamblers. In the worst cases, it can lead to scenarios where some may end up in jail or even contemplate suicide. Many gamblers feel a loss of control over themselves, which is really bad. However, there are others who are able to exercise self-control by setting limits on the amount of money they gamble, and that is undoubtedly a positive step and normal.

How do you fight this battle?
To be honest, at some point in my life, I felt like I was addicted to gambling. At that point, I decided to take some breaks from it and forced myself not to engage in it for a while. Gambling had caused some financial damage but taking that break turned out to be really effective. Now, I rarely gamble and only do it for fun with friends, as it brings me joy.

For anyone who is addicted to gambling, I recommend talking to someone for support and gradually working towards overcoming it. I understand that it can be quite challenging and hard but it is not impossible. With dedication, you can make progress quickly.

Everything happens for some reason. With gambling, self realisation is the one that makes a person stop gambling. Today I lost what I earned last week, which is really bad. I make myself strong not to gamble anymore for the month as I've spend what I can afford. If I wasn't able to keep myself in control and keep on gambling and losing more it is addiction and shows that I was out of self control and needs support to stop my gambling activities.
You said the real thing in the first line of your comment, as someone who is addicted to gambling, be rest assured that discovering your true self can be all it takes to quit that addiction for good, when you discover yourself, you realize the many things that are not right in your life, the hunger to be better sets in, and if that hunger is stronger than the gambling addiction, trust me, you don't need any help from any body to quit being addicted to gambling, you can easily quit gambling addiction, all it takes is taking the bold step by telling yourself, I will not gamble any more from this day and moment " and also mean it as you say it, and trust me, you will be shocked at how easy coming out from gambling addiction is.

The first way to stop gambling addiction is to recognize that you have a problem, you have to find the pattern of behavior, realize that it's something wrong and is supposed to not happen in real life, and then from there work your way into finding a viable plan.

I wasn't addicted to gambling or anything, so the validity of this advice may be challenged, but at the end of the day, the only way you could stop gambling is by halting the pattern and, for the most part replacing it with something more productive. For instance, instead of spending time gambling your life away, you could stand to take a walk, go to the gym, read self-help books and whatever you really want. Also, watch out for relapses, these are a bitch and will really set you off, if you fall for these you may even think you're not progressing but trust me, you are. If you feel like you wanna gamble again, which will only worsen over time, do not ever fall for it. Find something else to do, focus on that behavior, make it a habit, and slowly but surely you're going to find yourself rid of your gambling addiction.

If in any case you are already able to stop gambling on command, the last thing you would have to do is to ensure that you don't fall victim to it again. A lot of recovered addicts fall to addiction again in the following months or years because they become complacent, you shouldn't be like that and should focus on making sure that even when you do gamble, you don't gamble excessively.

Addiction is the main problem of a certain gambler but not all would really be falling into this category on which there are ones who are really that strongly willed or having that good control of their emotions and mind
on which they are really that aware on what they've been doing and since its really that something that would really be that pertaining about losing money due to gambling then they could really stop it right away
once they have seen that they are losing that much.On the other side of things on which there are ones who do really get addicted instead of stopping, they would rather do the opposite which is something
that it is really that a common approach.

This is why on the time that you do gamble then you should really be that careful on making yourself that get addicted because on the time that it would shackled you, then it would really be resulting into a disaster.
You would really be that experiencing out those financial shortage or being simply wrecked up in regarding finances and we know that once this thing is really messed up.Then you would definitely be
ending up on having those regretful words and minding that you shouldnt have done it earlier.

And that means, we always need to check ourself when it comes to this activity.
Are we doing good, or in the brink of addiction? If you think you are in deep trouble, change your habits as soon as you can.
Also, to minimize the trouble that you are in, as much as possible allot certain amount that you can use to gamble.
In that manner, you only know how much you can spend with your games, and if you go beyond such amount, you know for yourself,
you are about to get in trouble. Rectify your situation as early as you can, otherwise, once you go deep, would be hard to contain.
Self-discipline is your enemy here, not the casino nor other players, but yourself. So look after yourself, because, no one will.

There are several proven methods to quit gambling, the best one is to ask for professional help from a psychiatrist. Just contact the support team of the casinos you mostly play and request self-exclusion, otherwise, you will find yourself doing spins on slots when you get funds. Use some gambling block or stop gambling extensions to block all traffic from gambling websites and you are good to go.

The question is if you're a gambler or have someone who is, what's the best way to help out. And what's your story on escaping that addiction (gambling)...

How do you fight this battle?
I've never been addicted to gambling in my life, so I might not have the necessary or required experience to really tell what it feels like and how to come out from it or stop, but then, I've been addicted to stuffs like alcohol in the past, and how I managed to stop drinking was just by simply making a decision to quit drinking, but before making that decision, i first of all saw the effect or toll drinking too much was taking on my health, being afraid to die early or to start going in and out of the hospital every day of the week, that motivated me to quit drinking, and that was it, I stopped.

So I were to liken that to gambling, I would say that a person addicted to gambling does have the power and ability to stop on his or her own without any help from any body or therapist, all it takes is to genuinely see how gambling is destroying your life, your destiny, if you have a big plan for your future, you wanna be super rich and live a comfortable live with your family, and you genuinely from your heart know that your addiction to gambling is a threat to achieving that dream, that should motivate you enough to quit gambling by all means.

How do you fight this battle?

I'm going to mention three techniques that I've read once and I think they're very useful for anyone who wants to stop addiction.

  • Make it very clear to yourself what are the reasons for wanting to stop playing. It is necessary to understand that your life will be better if you give up the habit, so write down the reasons that led you to want to stop and analyze them as soon as that desire to gamble arises. Some reasons to drop the game are to spend more time with your family (children/wife/parents), get out of financial difficulties, or even save your marriage or relationship. When you hit that urge to seem uncontrollable, take that paper and read these reasons, motivate yourself not to go back to addiction.
  • Did you hit that urge? Take a deep breath and try to postpone it for half an hour and the temptation should subside. Meanwhile, distract yourself with something, leave your cell phone at home and go for a walk, go see a movie at the cinema or go out with friends playing a game on your cell phone or watching television.
  • Always have someone to help you with this, tell a close friend or family member everything, explain to him/her your illness and ask for help to encourage you.

If it still doesn't get better, seek professional help.

How do you fight this battle?

It happened when I am losing a lot and it came to a point that I'm losing everything I have it's a hard process to cut yourself to addiction but you can do it, I experienced this at least three times, and one of the things I did was cutting myself to the internet so the absence of the connection and having something to replace it is a good way I indulge myself to physical sports to forgot or cut me off me from my gambling addiction, it works but sometimes the urge comes back, but at least I have a control of my urge.

You must have a strong conviction that you want out and you are dedicated to doing what must be done to overcome gambling addiction.
