That's why you need to stop doing these types of signature mate! Because most of his campaign was too long, some of his campaigns were one year long but still that project hasn't started ICO! The ICO market is doing average business nowadays because Investors are not enough to interest to buy ICO coin, they are filling their bags by the big coin! The ICO market will last until the bitcoin market runs, this is my opinion, so, it is not faulted for ICO, it is faulting for some bad projects, who has nothing personal and only came in the crypto market to raise some money and then silence!

It really depends on.

Succesfull ico's last shorter. Mostly around a month. But unsuccesfull ones takes years and at the end status never change. It stays as unsuccesful.

Depends on the project but I do think an ico should last between 3-12 months
If the project is sound and rewarding with good hypes; such icos should last 3 weeks and get sold out

But if the project is feebish, existing invention and zero hype; could take 2 years without ever reaching softcap

I think the best option for the ICO duration is 1-2 months. This period is quite enough to collect the necessary amount of money for the project promotion. If this term is more than 2 months, then this is evidence of the insufficient elaboration of the project development strategy and its entry into the crypto market.

When an ICO project is launched, the project team usually set a specific target for the ICO which is often what determines when the ICO will end. Some projects will set a soft cap and hard cap, which usually are the threshold to determine when the ICO will end.  But for your friend's case, I think the ICO project might be a scam or its either the ICO soft cap was not reached.  your friend should just be patience and do more research about the project and should try contacting the team members.

Exactly how much will the crypto market live. Now we see how quickly and easily projects collect funds in seconds, and how much investment money is ready to join the market.

The funny thing is that a lot of ICOs can open up to a year, sometimes I think if they don't have capital so they only hope from investors, I think a good project is having huge money, not dependent on ICO.

The duration of an ICO only depends on the timelines that have been set by the team. This also depends on how successful the token sales of the project is doing. I read about this project though and even though they have a very useful case to present the bear market has made contributions from investors very little delaying the completion of the project.

I think the future of ICO will not be long, and the replacement of ICO is the IEO, look at various exchanges such as binance, there are many IEOs that are successful and reach hardcap, while many ICOs fail to reach the softcap.
Rather talking about bullshit and i suggest you to learn more and know the differences between IEO and ICO because both are the same and that's the point. Please, you can't make it the same as crap STO. IEO is the same as ico.

It seems gone are the days when ICO's end within few days or get rushed at and it become rationed that it is shared among certain investors and a lot of persons may not be able to buy due to the rush. Recently,, most ICO's hardly make it to their soft cap and it takes several months if not up to a month to complete sale

I don't think it's too different, but maybe now many investors prefer the IEO to the ICO which I think is outdated. But, they don't think it will make any difference, it's just a matter of time, and the IEO will also experience the same problem and there will be a new way of selling to replace it.

Actually, if I can say, there is no limit on how long does the ICO last but most of them are typically run about 3-4 months. In your statement regarding the ICO, it seems like you were asking about the bounty since you put up a link on the bounty.

Yes, basically ICO's or initial Coin offering can be done forever by a project, in a reason that, if they still just want to sell infinite volume of the token, they they can, just like the project that I know before, its ICO is finished but the concept of offering their coin is still there since they are still selling the coin in a discounted price which I find continuous manifestation if ICO.

How long does Ico last?

So, my friend is participating in the subscription campaign in the OUTOFTHLOUD project. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bounty-outofthecloud-file-and-data-sharing-ico-with-working-product-4814891
then something has changed and now https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bounty-resumedoutofthecloud-file-and-data-sharing-ico-with-working-product-5085373
The rewards program began on August 1 and continues to this day. It has been 8 long months. Posts in social networks stopped at the end of 2018. For all Telegram questions, when the program ends for a fee, my friend gets one answer - after Ico. When asked when Ico will end - silence.
It’s a pity to throw a signature, it turns out 8 months of work wasted ...

Tell me, is there a limit on the duration of Ico? It can not last forever?

I also one of their victims, I thought it's going to be a huge project, because they already have a working platform and they had a lot of users, they are an established business online, I stopped doing bounty for them because they keep extending it, my only hope is they still going to pay the old spreadsheets.

The team a ICO project determine how long they want want ICO sales to be on for. Most ICO are however being affected by the bearish market. In most cases ICO lasts for about 2-3 months. although i have came across some that lasted for 6 months but this happen in rare cases. However, the longer the ICO sales period doesn't guarantees ICO success.

I don't think threre is a fixed duration for an ICO. From my experiences, mostly hold the ICO for 3 months. Some has stated on the whitepaper, some might extended the duration or paused due to market condition. That's why we should keep following their information from any resources.
However there were ICOs that run for 8 months or even more. Some ended well, but some ended failed.

Usually most ICO will run their sale for months. At least they need 1 month to achieving soft cap.
If their soft cap not achieved, then they may prolong the sale period.
Your friend's ICO is not normal, it won't last for 8 months usually.

Most of the ICO's nowadays have extended the duration of their token sale due to the bearish market because they expect that extending the ICO would help to attract more investors which is not totally true if they don't have a marketing strategy. There is no particular duration for any ICO because it will depend on the preference of the team itself but usual ICO can last from 3 - 6 months.

There is no limit when it comes on ICO. It really up to the team if they are going to launch it for a year or so. In regards with the bounty, it is also up to them. I have joined OUTOFTHECLOUD as well and if you're going to read on their telegram group there is already an explanation from the CEO and as what they said the rewards for the bounty program will be paid soon.

ICO  last longer than normal these days. The recent bear market situation and substandard projects popping up here and there are partly to be blamed. Better to spend some time on project with sensible whitepaper to have better chances of working for those that will end up successful
I’m happy to remember 2016, when the Bounty companies are no more than 2 months and, accordingly, the company’s ico passed quickly, because they were collecting the Hard cap. To date, the deadlines have increased to 24 weeks or more.
