I am asking about the USD buying power. sorry I forgot to specify which dollar I mean

I can buy a lot for a Canadian dollar and more for USD but usually I get screwed on the exchange rate if I have to convert to USD and then back to CAD to spend it so I rarely if ever do that. Also I usually drink Coke Zero but I don't know that is exists yet everywhere.

you might be able to buy coke worth $ 1.5 in the area where I live. expensive or not depends on your point of view, but I think it was quite expensive, and fortunately I was not too fond of coke

It depends from place to place, somewhere you can buy up to 2-3 cans of coke (330ml), somewhere it is hard to buy even one can of coke, but in average you can buy 2 of them.
