i believe only bitcoin users are below 2M because on blockchain wallets there might be alot of inactive wallets and there might other users make multiple bitcoin wallet. bitcoin users increase every day and bitcoin is the best crypto currency out there.
2-5 million because i think bitcoin user in the whole world is more than 2 million so many people using it and many more can know about bitcoin and everyday many increasing the count of using bitcoin.
Its hard to give range of total number of bitcoin because not all country are accepting bitcoin the only thing we can say is there are a lot of people using bitcoin in their online transaction and their investment.

I do not think that now matter how many people are using Bitcoin worldwide. It is important, what benefit it brings all these people, and for what purpose they use it.
I think the total bitcoin users will also affect bitcoin in the future, because I believe the more total users bitcoin bitcoin then development will be the better, by looking at the total bitcoin users growing, of course it will make us believe in bitcoin We know only that ,there are 16 mil btc already mined. We also know that there is approximately the same amount of wallets. My gues is that a bitcoiner in general has around 1 btc and 1 wallet, so I voted for 16 million. However, I understand now that 1 btc per user is sort of not that big and the average amount is probably higher. But what to do with wallet's then? If there are less people using btc then they have more money and more then 1 wallet in general?
i don't think that there is only one wallet with every bitcoin users, to me ever bitcoin users much have more that 5 wallets and the second is that it is not so easy estimate the number of bicoin users, as bitcoin is anonymous and no one has the source to find out the actual number of active bitcon users. The IRS (the tax service in the US) has been said to be poking their nose in the Coinbase records in an effort to identify Bitcoin users. They required to provide the identities of the Coinbase clients for 2 years between December 31, 2013, and December 31, 2015. Coinbase itself claims that it has around 4.8 million users and 10.6 million wallets. If this story is set to be continued, we will likely learn how many people are actually using this wallet or have used it in the past.

I think 2-5 million of people who used Bitcoin because someone said base on research that the users of Bitcoin is less than 5 million like what you have said. Why I prefer 2-5 million users of bitcoin?

I've voted for 2 to 5 million. It's just my rough estimation, it could be less or it could be more.

I chose to go for 20 million to 30 million people based on the fact that in India alone which Op has indicated based on its analysis that India alone has 1 million then going by that to other countries of the world then we should not expect something else coupled with the amount of Bitcoin currently in circulation as much as 16 million spread that, then we will have it in the hands of those people I picked.

yes, i agree with some of the comments here. it is impossible to determine the number of bitcoin users just by basing on the number of wallets being used. one user may use 3 or more wallets or bitcoin addresses. just like me, i use 5 wallets. so that doesn't mean that those wallets are being used by 5 persons.

But base on what is happening with the bitcoins price, I guess it is now reached to 1 million users and this is only an estimation as there is no basis on how many are we already in the bitcoin economy. And with those statistics for bitcoin addresses it is not also a certified basis.

Your question actually is very hard to calculate the exact counting of bitcoin users, though we have already a total millions of members in bitcoin world.
Aside from that the history record in the blockchain is not enough to count it so far it is because there are many exchange sites that has made by now.

Yeah, exactly, it could be happened, but if we wanna guess than only that way is here to guess about the users of the bitcoin. But also as you said it is right, because everyone have many wallets and i think they have only one bitcoin, or may be they have half bitcoin or more than 1 bitcoin. Also i have many wallets but many time i have 10 to 12 bitcoins, which i bought them, and sometime i have no bitcoin. So as i said we can only guess it.

As bitcoin is anonymous system to use, we cannot speculate the number of users easily because we can see multiple wallets in one person's name and etc. I don't think op effort will be fulfilled by this thread

I do not think that now matter how many people are using Bitcoin worldwide. It is important, what benefit it brings all these people, and for what purpose they use it.
Actually it is important to know how many millions of people used bitcoin since it was develop because it is the proof or evidence that people trust bitcoin. This can be proof that bitcoin is really a great help to the users last years until now. It can be proof also that users may also use bitcoin that as their full time job 
It is hard to tell how many people are using Bitcoin, and the wallet address that had been created is not accurate since one user can have hundreds to thousand of addresses. In my opinion there is more than 5 million people who have bitcoins since MLM company are now using bitcoin as their bait to attract people to join their company but the people who use it in their daily lives is different story. And I think there is only a small percentage of those who owns it use bitcoins.
