You have made an excellent point. Gambling must be done with extra funds, while I agree all money is good and nothing is extra but what I mean by extra is the amount of money you feel you can spend on your hobbies. That ways helps overcome your gambling problem too because once you lost all your money you actually intended to spend on rides, fun, movies,etc then you start feeling like gambling is bad.

While if you spend the money that was allocated to bills and other important tasks then it will be no problem for you, because bills will keep on increasing while there will be no shortage of fun for you so you won't ever feel like gambling is bad or hurting you. Just gamble with money you saved for fun and see how much it hurts Wink

This is true that priority needs to be set and family time obviously will be first and still if anything left extra then only gamble and that too it should be for fun and not to make money out of it as you may lose and play with more money meant for family .

As much amount as we can get in gambling, but I am not sure that we can get that money because it is hard to win big in gambling. Perhaps, we can split our money in the pocket into two parts, one for a gamble, and the other for taking back to our home. But as we know that playing gambling will have full of risk, it is better we also limitations our money to be used in gambling and don't wait for a long if we need to stop the games. We must make sure that we still have money in the pocket and don't regret if we lose some money because we still have another money in our pocket.

Also because, they have eager to win some so they can feed more their family, it's like greed. They don't know the risk, gambling first beforr feeding the family is the dumbest idea for sure. It's very unreasonable for one to gamble away their fund while they have family to feed and cater for; I totally will never support this.
In fact, I suggest that anyone who find it difficult to care for their family should never gamble, it's as simple as that. People like that can easily slip into addiction and try to make gambling as their main job without any other sources of income.

well, youcould definitely take a % of your monthly budget and use it for whatever, specially if your family is well attended already.

I'd say 10% of everything you earn is always for saving (like "the richest man in Babylon")
and wouldn't get more than 5% monthly to gambling, actually, safer to be between 1-3%.

Exactly! And as I also observed some of the people that maybe we can say "below average" people or poor are still gambling, I don't think it will solve their poverty.

And also consider those people who are gambling just to be entertain only. Family first before everything else, you should feed first the family before spending some of your money in a very risky way which is gambling.

That’s because they wanted their family’s lifestyle to improve and some are too desperate to do it right away and they see gambling as the easiest way to get big money without really realizing the risk of losing the money they worked hard for. We all know that we shouldn't gamble with money we can't afford to lose, but it's always a question what is this amount exactly? It can be $1,000 for one person, and it can be just $1, or even less than that, for another. I think for calculating this amount a simple formula should be applied.

(Money you earn per year) ÷ 365 ÷ 10 = (Amount you can afford to in one day of gambling)

In other words, it's 10% of what you make per day on average. Of course it can be still painful to lose that amount, but at least it won't put you in a desperate position when you wouldn't know how to live after the loss.

And one more thing. You shouldn't play every day until you lose that amount, because losing 10% of your income to gambling is too much. You should manage your gambling bankroll so that your losses were below 5% in the end of the year.
