I often wake up 30mns before my first meeting to kick off my day. I wear mostly pajamas with a polo/sweater shirt when video calls are necessary. I take naps, run errands, watch TV etc and I’m not dismissing any of my responsibilities and doing a good job at that.

It’s economically more viable for most. I don’t commute an hour each way anymore, I don’t have people up my ass for nonsensical things etc. I love working from home and I’m no less productive. I see many people here simply don’t have much self control over even basic little things. Hopefully that’ll change in time like it did with me.

I do miss being around people. It can get lonely. But worth it.
This is very relatable. I hate remote work sometime. Humans are social being not being with others is frustrating sometimes. At other times, my productivity and efficiency sky-rockets as the distractions are less and I don't have to be bothered about wearing a smily face when I am in no mood for smiling or laughing with anyone.

I also miss commuting to work every morning and back in the evenings. It is this little thing that I find the tinest joys of life. Looking at the faces of the other commuters.

I try to have a daily to-dos. My days starts at 7 in the morning unless the days when I have a meeting with colleagues in a different time zone. I wrap up usually with work by 3pm after finishing up with my tasks.

Yes, it's true, remote work is not for everyone. Sometimes if you get a job like this, for an introvert, this is what they want, but for extroverts, this will be a problem and most likely they won't survive and there are many cases like this that happen. Moreover, work requires spending long hours in front of a computer screen or having to carry out a work assignment that takes hours in the room.

But I believe that in the end all work, good or bad, only depends on us managing the time. Whether you work in the office or at home, it doesn't really matter, if we can manage our time well, all work will be enjoyable. I'm a work at home person, but I'm an extrovert.

The remote work is not the easy one,not everyone get a chance for the report work will be the first thing. We need to think about the payment as the second one, because not all the remote work will pay you for the work. Some companies will disappear after their work was done. The bounties in the forum was the best example for this, not all the bounties paying now the people. The bounties before 2021 was awesome one, many earned themselves and allow the bounty hunters to earn by their prompt payments. Now many project come in the motive of self earning principles. This was main reason for many people get away from the forum and from the freelancer works.

The managing our time was the key factor for the successful person and the person who work only for the money as the employee to the firm.If you want to be the worker and the entrepreneur was in your hand and with your time managing principle in the real life.

I don't like the idea of working from home if you are working for a company or others. There are a lot of things that could go wrong with this. You will start losing responsibility towards the work if you do it from home for a longer period. Distraction is a thing that will come between you and your work more often as you keep doing it. It's all about keeping your mind straight. That can't be achieved when you do it in your comfort zone.

I am telling this from my personal experience. I used to work at an office before COVID hit and then I was forced to work from home. I saw a significant decrease in my work flow while working from home. I used to slack off my work and just sit around watching youtube and surfing social media like a brainless pig. I don't know about others but from what I have experienced, it's not good. When you go out and work in a workplace, you are limited by time and can't afford to get distracted. Thus you will get the job done in time.

It could happen especially because there is no one monitoring employees, you could just sit watching youtube for hours and no one will prompt you if there is no camera watching you. I have done this as well not minding what time already by the time the hunger was unbearable, it was already 3 PM and I started early morning.

But with COVID and the Pneumonia virus these days, everyone will be once again locked down. We're all gonna work at home and the kids having a Zoom class once again.

Most introverts really feel at home, plus working from home is the right solution. but it doesn't match the expectations that were imagined, working at home is indeed the dream of many people, but if you don't have a sense of responsibility for the work, it's the same as being irresponsible. working from home you have to be self-disciplined and manage your own time, I feel tired. because I'm introverted but grateful to work at home and be able to see my parents and family every day

Definitely, for people who has lack of discipline, procrastinating the work is easy because no one is supervising. For me even-though I still use office hour, I get up at 5 exercising, get breakfast, then working until lunch to take a break, just like the people working in the office. For some people who already has family and children, they could also become distraction, the solution could just went out and find some cafe or working space. But all that being said, training our discipline is the best way.
The first start of working at home was okay and work discipline was responsible for everything, free from all regulations. After several years, sometimes I get bored of wanting different things, because I work full time every day in front of a laptop. Sometimes we have to have daily activities outside of work, which is still difficult for me

Of course, the key to successful remote work is good communication and all team members know what to do, most problems occur because there is no good communication, besides that the head of department must understand the job description and be able to provide solutions if problems occur.
Basically, working together well/compact, I admit, is the best thing of all time, because all work is done carefully and really understands the situation and conditions within the team.

This is really important, because a series of remote jobs that experience problems due to lack of communication between teams, this often happens in remote work. Remote work can actually be done well if they can communicate well, because even a little bit of poor communication can make serious problems, It is also unethical if only with miscommunication the work falls apart, even though this is trivial but it can have a big impact on work so Communication has an important role in remote work.

Also as you said, working together in doing a job will help the work to run well without any serious problems.
Oh yes, another thing is Responsibility.
Even if you work far or near if you don't have a good sense of responsibility, it feels like it will be in vain, and if someone is responsible then their work will definitely get done, whether or not there is a boss nearby. Because he doesn't care about all that (looking for face) because he only focuses on the sense of responsibility he has.

And when the junior has reached a senior level, they will do the same to new employees or people who have just joined the work group. This behavior continues from generation to generation of the workforce. On the one hand, this is good as a mental test of a person, but on the other hand, this is a bad thing because it creates its own grudge and the new member is the outlet for the grudge.

Exactly and it will happen. But, I'm trying to look at the positive side and It will feel different. If it is led by someone who has fair leadership in management, in my opinion the level of office will be active and there will be coordination in quotation marks and there will be no interference with information reaching the highest superiors. because as far as I remember, everyone's goal, especially the private sector, was to achieve 100% final progress at the end of the year.

I think that if this happens in the field, a senior giving his duties to a junior, I consider the senior to be irresponsible, and it is true what you say that if that happens it will definitely cause problems for the team, and in my opinion not include the compact that I meant above.

I don't know what you mean by compact, but according to my understanding of compactness in teamwork, when all members are able to work together and give each other their best contribution to participate in the success of the work program that has been planned previously. So that no member feels the most burdened with the work because they get too many tasks.

Agree! Most of the time this happens in a corporate company wherein seniors always give their duty to the junior level and new hires, where in fact, it's their task to be done in the first place. That's why many junior levels has been intimidated to them as if those seniors didn't go through that level. Also thos seniors still benefit from management's praises even though they are not the one who did the work but once you make a mistake, you will be blamed immediately.

And when the junior has reached a senior level, they will do the same to new employees or people who have just joined the work group. This behavior continues from generation to generation of the workforce. On the one hand, this is good as a mental test of a person, but on the other hand, this is a bad thing because it creates its own grudge and the new member is the outlet for the grudge.

i know this topic is more about inefficiency of work tasks due to comfort/laziness.. but has anyone done the opposite

has anyone noticed when working at home they can get away with doing things slower, and utilise this fact to work for 2 employers at the same time
EG having 2 devices logged in 9am-5pm and work back and forth during the day on two employers tasks to double income for same 40 hours a week

many employers have noticed.. and thats why they actually want people in the office so that people are not working 2 jobs at the same time

I am a person who works remotely, and only meet once a month with the workers and even then only to collect checks from the bank. Currently I serve as head of a local news media, personally I only emphasize that all tasks are completed according to a predetermined schedule, regardless of whether they are effective or not. So far there is only one rule, as long as the task is completed it means there is nothing extra that needs to be included in the rules. The downside may be that communication cannot run in real time, sometimes you have to wait 1-2 hours to get a confirmation reply. The work space is of course the main thing for storing special files in one room so that they are not lying around anywhere. Dressing formally is not mandatory because as I said as long as the assignment is completed according to the schedule I requested it doesn't matter if they wear pajamas etc because it doesn't affect the results of the assignment and it's in their respective rooms as a form of privacy that I respect.

To be more effective working remotely set up an dedicated workspace that is free from distractions. Create a daily routine to maintain structure & set clear boundaries between work & personal life. Utilise technology tools like project management software & video conferencing platforms to stay connected with colleagues. Prioritise communication by regularly checking in with team members & providing frequent updates. Ensure a healthy work life balance by taking regular breaks, staying active & avoiding overworking. I must say that working remotely is not for everyone because you need to consider your place and assess your surroundings if you are able to work confidently with peace and less distraction. Just like other company that offers working from home, you have to comply and to submit them that you have a sufficient room for working because of confidentiality and privacy of the work. Working from home has a lots of pros especially to those multitasker person, like what you've said, when you're not busy and you've done your work early, you have a time to your daughter and here in forum.
Yes, of course not everyone wants to work far from where they live, because there are many things that must be prepared if working far from where they live, such as having to arrive early to work because our place of work is far from where we live.
If we get an offer to work at home, of course this will make it easier for us to be able to work at home and of course we have to do it properly, don't let us not do it, of course this will result in us not getting the trust of the place where we work.

I believe remote working is not for everyone, I myself are a remote worker tho I consider myself as an introverted and I don't really like hanging out with friends I still feel lonely sometimes, my coworkers are from around the world, we never meet in real life, and I don't have time to go find a friend in real life. I can't imagine if someone who are an extrovert and like to socialize working remotely, they wouldn't survive it.

I think it really matter's why working in an office is a place dedicated for work and we know that place is a place assigned for our duty and we must make sure to put everything in places, Why whenever we gets to office there are some certain task which we must executes and there the environment is always influential to put that at the back of your mind while we work with our manager, or project supervisor.

But working at home just like me who does some of my task here when I am less busy I got consumed by my daughter even though I took her to the siting room she would always wants to stay with me and yet we keeps dragging over my laptop since she is watching over me while I do my posting. The bottom line is, remote work is very hard to handle especially to those that loves working and moving around their site environment and they are focused on their core duty to be productive and effective in their position unlike those who works from home.

Yeah it's true, this is not for everyone since there are lot of things to look after just as you have mentioned above anyone who wants remotes works must either be a single girl or man who have time to work and to comply with the company policies otherwise would actually finds it difficulties to meet up their requirement just as what I myself is facing currently due to distractions all over the house.
Just imagine a woman with lot of kids how are they going to cope with such terms working from home maybe they can both agreed to be working home 1 to 2 days while the remaining days would be spent in the office working to make sure there is effectiveness & excellent in work.

By creating a quiet, secluded workspace, you can optimize your focus and concentration while working from home. Remote work definitely has its advantages. Being able to work from the comfort of your own home can save time, money and stress from commuting. This allows for more flexible schedules and the ability to create a comfortable and personalized work environment. Plus, it can often increase productivity and job satisfaction. However, it's also true that remote work can sometimes lead to feelings of boredom and lack of motivation. There are also challenges to consider, such as potential feelings of isolation, difficulty separating work and personal life, and the need for self-discipline. Ultimately, the best work environment depends on personal preference and the nature of the job.
