Not difficult, but not easy when it comes to changing habits. Yes I mean when we get used to the environment we work in and have to run it from home there must be a different atmosphere. It affects our minds, the office atmosphere is definitely different from the home atmosphere. Atmosphere is important for me personally because it will affect our mood at work. This is where our professionals are at stake.
I would say that home could be a lot better place to work if you ask me. What do you have in an office? You wake up, you get ready, you travel to office, you work there in uncomfortable clothing, you work with maybe people you dislike, you are forced to stay there as long as you have to and then you travel back to home. Whereas when you are remote working, you wake up 10 minutes before work, make a coffee for yourself, sit in front of your PC and start working, that's it, and when you want to do something else in the middle, nobody is there to question you as long as you finish work by the end of the day. It's much better and a lot more easier to handle, definitely would prefer it.

But if you'll look at the positive side of it, it also has an advantage because you will still be able to look after your kids at home and you have an assurance that they're safe since you can monitor them. It's really hard to manage things at home especially if you have kids but you really need to sacrifice and always look at the brighter side of working remotely. There are lots of parents who want to work at home just to be with their family but they don't have the same opportunity as you have. Sometimes appreciation over exhaustion is what we need to feel more motivated and grateful.

Yes, I am aware of the fact that nothing is perfect as we always wish it was. Although there is also the pressure to work at home, I still feel better than working at the office. As you say, I can monitor my children and that makes me feel safer. Sometimes the work is too stressful, I can rest and turn to fun with them for a while, which restores my spirit and makes me feel comfortable and refreshed. Nothing is perfect, still better when we can choose something better for us.

I have experienced a long distance working and initially there were many problems, but because often meet offline and good communication, it can be effective, of course the main key is to understand the work and what the team must do so that there is no mistake.
If you often meet offline, then there is no need to apply remote work via online as long as going offline can still be more effective. But if you want to make your work easier in any case, then use both to support maximum smoothness and save your time in traveling.

During last year's pandemic I think many companies implemented remote work,
indeed at first most employees find it difficult but with time they will get used to it,
it must also be supported by qualified facilities
Facilities that must exist when communicating remotely are devices that can be connected to the internet and of course the internet network is also needed in this case. And so far I think every big company has clearly had the internet to get every job done. But at the time of the pandemic, I think that long-distance communication should indeed be implemented because it was already needed before there was a specific handling of the pandemic.

Communication is the key to being able to effective working remotely, technology support today makes us able to work remotely, and this is more effective when social restrictions occur a year ago, and all work can be completed without having to go in the office.

IMHO, having a space that is dedicated only to remote work is a foundational key.  The other is hard start and stop times so that time expectations are properly set.  Another is limiting distractions and also having a daily agenda.

As someone who works remotely, having a quiet environment especially away from distraction will provide more efficiency in my task however it doesn't mean that you should isolate yourself among other people but rather to be able to have enough quiet environment to focus on. Yes, it is hard to work if your children are asking for this and that and playing which could distract from our work but still having someone around or beside you is a great thing to have if you're working remotely.
There are some tips that I do to avoid distractions during the day, without the noise and of course the kids fall asleep quickly. Night tends to be more effectively used for work. Well, that's what I've been doing since the 2020 pandemic started. I changed the pattern of working time moved tonight (stay up). The stillness of the night and the cool atmosphere gave me a much better level of focus. No need to isolate yourself from the people around you. We just need to manage time as ideally as possible.
Sometimes I love to work at night as well because it's more peaceful but the only enemy we have at night is that we are feeling sleepy and it's also cold too when it's passed 1 am in the morning. Also when I sleep during the day time, I have a difficulty of doing it because it's now noisy outside and then it is also hot when it's passed 10 am in the morning.

I wake up during these times many times because I can feel the heat inside my room. This is why I revert my schedule again back to morning even if there are some noise, only because I want to sleep peacefully at night. Our brain will function properly if we have a good sleep and our eyes doesn't hurt too the next day.

That's what I tried, worked at night because I thought it was quiet so we could easily accomplish my work and I would sleep in the morning. But everything is not the same as we calculate, awake too late and sleeping the next day, it does not help me to be more awake, and to be honest, for a married person like me, I could not have a good night's sleep when my children were awake out there.

Working at home helps us to avoid pressure when facing the boss while working, always serious to complete the work and we do not have the same comfort as at home. But at home, there was really my own trouble, when I face my two children when I was working and the surrounding noise made it difficult for me to focus.

Force yourself. That is something that not many people do but if you are going to work long term then you should be forcing yourself. You are having trouble waking up early? Force yourself to wake up early, too early if you have to, that way you will go to bed early as well, having trouble finding food to eat, or can't decide? Force yourself to eat healthy, having trouble exercising? Force yourself to do it.

If you keep doing these for a couple of weeks in a row every day, it is going to become your regular day and it won't really take that much time neither and rest of the time you could relax. I have been working remote for so long and never been happier in my life.

Good tips. After COVID more and more people are working remotely and that is also part of the "gig economy" in the last decade. The tips are in general valid from many people who actually freelance or work under contract. Particularly the time limits and boundaries, even physical boundaries, between where you work and were you do anything else are critical for the psychological wellbeing of the individuals.
It changes a lot, not only do we learn how to adjust to a new setup of work but also we know how to manage ourselves being in communications limits. It really has a huge difference but I still see is not the reason why we couldn't perform well, it is really depending on the mindset of the person.
We have new technologies that really help us in order to make working remotely more effective, so we don't have any excuse to say that it was not possible.

I also create a focused work space by finding friends (3-4) who work remotely and stay close to me to share a workspace with. To help us stay focused and create a productive working environment for each other, I suggested that we switch homes every week. Taking short breaks is difficult when working together, but doing so together encourages focus
That is a great solution, that way you get the best of both worlds, you get to still talk to the coworkers that are your friends and that you enjoy spending time with, but at the same time you avoid the coworkers that you do not want to work with while still dressing in whatever way you want, this is a very interesting approach that quite honestly it would have never occurred to me, and if at some point I need to work remotely again you can be sure that I will try to put this into practice.
You can still do those things but eventually totally different when it comes to actions and gestures which you cant really able to do so when you are working remotely. This is the big difference in between and this is

why there are some people whom do really prefer on having face to face interaction or social interaction with other people rather than on facing up on computers on long house period.
We cant really able to avoid the development in terms of technology and other aspects which is really mainly been changed which there is indeed a key area where people
could do their jobs on the convenience of their own homes.

Also, we must not forget to ensure self discipline in our work place be it from home or in office, many has taken the advantage of being self employed and working at the comfort of their home not to maintain some business standard ethics and that's why you could discover some ventures cease from operations after a while when they fail to maintain running the business into continuity, working remotely should be a good opportunity whereby a business can have a good start and build up from a premitive level down to global level if seriously handled.

lol looks like eccentric but that's the reality when we work at home and I can't deny that I also do things like this because when we work at home, for example, when we are in a meeting, of course we have to dress neatly and what we see is definitely the body parts above so that indeed other body parts that are not highlighted by the camera do not need to follow to make it look matching because we are at home and no one sees it Grin
This is one of the things where people could usually do or possibly able to do because we are just working on our own home and no one really sees it which it would really be just part of our instinct that its not really that

needed to get dressed formally as people or employers cant really see on whats below which it would really be that understandable that upper portion is the only thing you should prioritize on well-dressed.

I have tested out this one but not in work but in our online class which i do only wearing my upper part of my uniform just to make it look that i had really wear up my school uniform
completely but well its been required on the first place.
This is true for all circles and not only for workers because I live with several of my younger siblings who are still in school and have other activities with zoom meetings, so this is definitely a common thing that happens.

In this case, it is actually an adjustment, because in this case we can indeed be formal when we are finding work, but it is clear when we are at home, what is the whole thing to be formal.
This is the other side of the homework.

I see working remotely as an opportunity to cut living and working expenses down in other to be able to achieve some savings by maintain the same quality of production outputs, this is actually my own definition and understanding that interpret working remotely, there have been many people who work in the major cities for years of nothing to show forth, no savings and no advancement, but i believe even in that remote area, development will soon get there and things begin to change for good with time, for every success, there must be a starting ground.

You are correct. Bur when I went through some comments here, it looked as if working from home is a favour to only the employees. No, the employers and the company benefits also.

  • In terms of expenses or total cost of production, is reduced because costs like transportation, welfare and others are reduced
  • The risk level is reduced. Ranging from transportation risk, to and fro work to internal accidents that accour at work. A muster point that houses 20 workers may have only 8 because of working from home.

So, it is an advantage to both the company and the employees.

That's an insightful taught, both ends benefit from the service, then one can have enough time for self to think, test, plan and engage doing other things that could aid a good living with a freedom of self reliance, work environment is always good because you have the opportunity of meeting with people and through such you learn from them but the hardship and challenges in it is more than the benefits it offers, working remotely gives you time to develop your abilities and work effectively on them.

You are very correct, working in the physical environment avails one the opportunity to meet colleagues in real life and learn their ways of lives, compare them to yours and decide if you will change or maintain your lifestyle. But apart from work, there are other places one can learn from people, like places of worship etc.

Working from home doesn't give my boss opportunity to develop himself as I watch him, it only gives him the ability to work on other people's project and make more money, other than working for only his company, thereby over working himself.

The best way to decrease effectiveness of working remotely is to decrease amount of elements that can distract. Working place must be far away from kitchen, food or TV. Separate room is a must. Also, dress code is necessary. If you work from home dressed in sleepwear, lays on sofa - then your working day wont be productive. Your remote work will be sort of a working from vacation.

I would suggest to simulate office working day while working remotely. Work from separate room, dress appropriately (jeans + t-shirt is ok), make timetable (when you have a lunch and 15min rest). Otherwise remote work will be not a proper work, but an addition to relaxing at home.
working from home is the most difficult thing I have experienced these days.
But one thing I agree to is being casual and not properly dressed up - then surely you won't be productive - I have experienced this myself and its correct.
It's actually true to avoid getting distracted while working at home is to avoid those electronic gadgets better still find a working space that is very isolated to ensure maximum concentration as well as to be very effective, however working remotely can be boring and tasking at times you won't feel motivated to work in some days, it takes some efforts and self persuasion to go back to resume working, personally I don't think dressing smartly or casually has any effect on remote workers all you needed to do is concentrate with the remote job and do it appropriately without any qualms.

Minor correction, work isnt meant to be fun and entertaining on first place. And how come you feel not motivated when working? Isnt salary motivates you to work? If it takes efforts and persuasion to switch from doing something to working during workdays, then I think you are working in wrong place. Or, your job is extra easy, that you need to seek for motivation to work.

Even if everything was perfect a lot of people have problems switching their sleeping hours as we are programmed to sleep when there is darkness and to wake up when there is light outside, so regardless of the circumstances most people will suffer insomnia or other sleeps disorders as this is something really difficult to overcome, and I say this because of my own experience as well as I have also worked a night shift and while you can do this for a time eventually you get to the point in which you cannot do it anymore.
