This tip based only on my experience how find if the airdrop is fake

few months ago i encounter a fake airdrop using a telegram bot.
An airdrop bot pretending as a real airdrop of coin already listed on CMC
first i search on coinmarketcap from there i saw the legit site..
second i search the telegram group chat
and ask the admin there if its legit airdrop or not and they said its not legit an airdropbot using the name of their coin

another fake airdrop i see last month is bitair also asking for selfdrop to buy their token
i search the bitair website and i find it.i see the twitter account from there website
and i notice on there last post was november 2017 if im not mistaken,
and bit air ico sale was ended last november.

both of this type of airdrop scam i noticed they both collecting a member for their telegram channel and collecting follower on their twitter account.and asking for selfdrop

i hope this post can help some newbie to avoid to be a victim of airdrop with selfdrop

any other tip on checking if airdrop is legit?

The amount of fake Airdrop is so alarming. I dont always participate in Airdrop anymore as i see it as a means to get info without any benefit. Even those ones that give tokens. The token is always useless.

Good experience. I am not interested in participating in the Airdrop program. when viewed from the airdrop token value, airdrop only gives tokens with a value of $ 5- $ 10.

If the project that make the airdrop doesn't look convincing I think it is false for. to follow for I'd rather join the airdrop project that makes the bounty and the sale of ico, it looks more convincing to me.

if airdrop requires more information like KYC or private keys then it is possible that it is a scam. airdrops are free if they want you to send eth for the cost of sending the reward it is possible also to be scam.

In the cryptocurrency world, airdrop refers to a procedure through which a blockchain project distributes free tokens to community members, As a way to spread awareness to the relevant audience of potential investors and eventual enthusiasts, coin teams will, from time-to-time, do airdrops. if the project or the bounty isn't fake, most likely that the airdrop will be well distributed

Even airdrops from fake projects can still be distributed in the long run and you still end up bag holding it anyway. The thing is that, the same way you find out if a project is fake, is the same way you will know if it is an airdrop worth being a part of.

Normally, doing your due diligence on a project requires you to weigh the team capabilities, see if there is a product, and check if it would be relevant to bring in demand while checking what the roadmap is like before even considering it; otherwise it would be a waste of time.

I think many airdrops are fake, they are not paying. You can only knew if it is not a scam if they pay tokens as their promises.
Truth be told, so many people just put up some form of airdrops from projects and ask the gullible ones to drop their information, but what they are indeed doing is to gather all these information and sell to the highest bidder who will use it to distribute their spam.

One of the reasons some people get their mails spammed from the likes of airdrops, unknown ICOs and bounties is because their email address was bought by those who perpetrate themselves as project owners doing airdrops.

It is very difficult to find out if an airdrop is fake. One need to research the airdrops to find out the genuine ones. An airdrop will stimulate your apetite expecting money that will not be forthcoming.  Airdrops are unreliable.  They are mostly scams and not recommendable.

Sometimes some airdrops are not there in coinmarketcap but sometimes they do but if the airdrops are ain't there you can search on some ico rating sites like ico reward ico track and etc. and some of the airdrops have no websites but if they do some of them are fake, my only tip is check their social media sites like facebook or twitter and look if they have many followers and second also ask their manager on the telegram because they will know if it is real or not.

Beware most of all if they are requiring the participants to download and run something from your computer or phone, scan, update your computer and have a decent antivirus to prevent viruses that can steal wallets and information, asking some payments before participating is most likely a fake airdrop different from referrals and bonuses because airdrops are token freebies from an ICO company for such a small and easy task.

For that I have participated in so many  airdrops and didn't really to differentiate between the real and fake ones. In my own view, only a fake airdrop will ask for Wallet's private key.

Most of the time you can tell if it's fake since they will be asking for money.  Never use your real information in the forms either.   If you follows these rules it wont matter if it's fake or not.  Fill the form out and hope for the best.

Generally when something is easy to obtain without any effort, you must beware before try to trust.
Since altcoin is risky investment and you already overcome the risk than it's become your luck that decide your fate !
Of course nobody know for sure but the decision is yours !

I think we need to be more careful with airdrops nowadays as their are a lot of fake airdrops these days. Always make sure that the technology of the project that wants to do airdrop makes sense and also research the team behind these airdrops before doing it. These are some ways yo find out if the airdrop you are about to participate in is worth it

everybody has to be very careful about the projects. if project has a team with reliable and ambitious people, their airdrop won't be fake.

I can say that you shouldn't waste time on finding out whether airdrop is fake or not as it is not worth it. Most of airdrops are scam or the tokens from the are worthless. So find something more profitable.
